Roof was replaced on residence in November ****. There was a leak on the patio cover. They wanted more money to repair it or make another claim to replace the roof again.

    Business response

    05/31/2023

We explained to the customer the flat ********************** system needing to be upgraded to Roll Roofing, but the request was denied.  GBT already covered the costs for upgrade of the valleys to Ice/Water Barrier *******.

The Workmanship Warranty previously given is no longer coverable as the roofing system was compromised by the 2 hail reported on 03/02/2023 to the *******, ** area in which most neighbors on the same street have already begun replacements, while some are choosing just to wait until spring is over.
Only option available to repair the leak is to replace and upgrade the flat system to Roll Roofing as it is currently placed with shingles per client's request.
GBT offered to cover these costs for the Roll Roofing on the flat area if we could go ahead and work with replacement of entire Main Dwelling, but client again declined

This roofing company solicited us for business back in February 2022. We told them our insurance would not approve a new roof & they begged us to let them try & get it approved. After several months, our insurance approved & paid the initial roofing bid of $32,000. Then the roofing company came back & said we needed a lot of additional work (gutters, garage doors, exterior storage doors, window screens, etc). We told them upfront we were not paying for any extra work. They assured us our insurance would approve it that they just needed to submit an additional bid & it wouldn't be a problem. The company proceeded to do the additional work without submitting bids for approval to our insurance company until after the work was completed - which we didn't know til later. The insurance company has been slow to pay any additional monies d/t protocols were not followed correctly by the roofing company. Our insurance company is holding the final payment because they have repeatedly asked for an itemized statement showing what work was done & has been completed. The roofing company will not send an itemized statement because the work has not been completed and most likely they billed for things that were not done. In total, GBT roofing has billed our insurance company over $66,000 for a roof - which is without a doubt - Insurance fraud. We never once saw or signed a contract with GBT roofing prior to, during, or even after the roof was done. GBT roofing has now hired an attorney to file a lien against our property for the outstanding balance of $9,000. When the lawyer sent us the paperwork stating this, he included a signed contract with my husbands signature on it. However, our insurance company reviewed the attorney paperwork & discovered that my husbands signature had been forged onto the roofing contract. There is no telling how many other people this company has done this to. GBT needs to resolve this matter & be held accountable for their shady business practices.

Business Response /* (1000, 7, 2022/11/04) */ Contact Name and Title: ****** White Contact Phone: XXXXXXXXXX Contact Email: ******@gbtroofing.com Good afternoon, On 05/11/2021 GBT ROOFING LLC Obtained an adjusters estimate from ****** ****** as she referred Mrs. **** **** to request GBT to attempt to fight the denial on her roof. After speaking with Mrs. **** and explaining we could possibly overturn, her husband Mr. **** signed a contract via email through a program called "sign now"(please see attached) GBT began to overturn the denial of the case with American Risk Insurance company which took several months. Once we received an updated estimate from the adjuster we noticed the roof was approved but several line items were missing in order to do the scope of work properly. As a contractor, GBT submitted our own updated estimate for review and approval by adjuster ******* ******* XXX-XXX-XXXX as well as his manager ***** ******* ** of Claims - Most of the estimate submitted by GBT to American Risk was approved however certain line items continued to be denied. GBT ONLY completed all scope of work approved by Adjuster ******* ******* which has been confirmed as well by the owners mortgage company @ XXX-XXX-XXXX Per **** ****, her mortgage company came and reviewed the property to confirm all work was completed on 09/01/2022 via a personal text between herself and ****** White (salesman with GBT ROOFING) After the scope of work was checked and marked as completed, the mortgage company released 2 checks in amounts of $8,628.66 & $22.48 however we informed Mrs. **** there was still a balance owed by the insurance company. She stated on 9/14/22 "Insurance has not released payment for last supplement you sent" We called American risk numerous times including several emails on a daily basis trying to reach the adjuster and supervisor to resolve the matter of why there was a payment missing to be released to the owner. GBT ROOFING had already Submitted our final estimate and received back the final approved insurance estimate on 06/02/2022 from the adjuster AND homeowner (see attached) Once the final estimate approved by the adjuster ****** ******* with American Risk was received, GBT invoiced the client for the Total Replacement Cost. Please be advised, this cost was approved by the insurance company, in which per contract we only bill what the insurance company approved for and what scope of work we completed. Also, per law, GBT has to bill the client for the deductible payment which was never received by the client. Since GBT confirmed with both the adjuster and mortgage company that all scope of work was done, we billed the client for the remaining balance due. She stated in text she was aware of the remaining balance due and we asked for assistance in reaching her adjuster to help release the remaining funds. We do not know why there was a comment that a contract signature was "forged" as it was signed via the owner's email, and we have the time stamped for proof We also have several text communications we will be happy to submit showing the clients being consistently updated throughout the process as well as the texts approving to begin work. Please see attached emails, texts, signed contract, estimate approved by the insurance company, and all payments received by the client. For any questions or concerns please contact us directly at XXX-XXX-XXXX or XXX-XXX-XXXX **CONTACT INFORMATION** GBT Salesman: ****** White XXX-XXX-XXXX American Risk Adjuster: ******* ******* XXX-XXX-XXXX Owners Mortgage Company: XXX XXX XXXX All texts, emails, and documents can be submitted on request. We attached as many as possible however the system would only let us include a few
