    We contracted SS Construction to install a new roof and paid for the GAF golden pledge, which is the highest warranty provided. We were told that they would register our warranty with GAF and we would receive an e-mail from GAF with the warranty information. Upon not receiving this information we reached out to the contractor who said he would register. We have reached out several times now and have been told they would look into it. Today I went to the GAF webpage and read that the contractor had to register the warranty within 45 days. Our roof was installed at the end of May 05/21/24. We are well past the 45 days. As we paid in full for the warranty we need resolution to this.

    We have been in contact with our rep. We received a call from GAF friday of last week. 

    we can now move forward with the registration. The final process could take up to an additional week or two. 

    We will have your warranty to you.

    Better Business Bureau:

    I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  

    I am afraid I cannot close this case at this time. I still have not received any indication that the warranty has been provided. I appreciate the efforts, but I must keep the case open until we receive confirmation of the warranty. I waited until we were near the 10-day limit to see if it would come through, but no notifications at this time.

    The labor warranty will be covered by SS Construction in House.

    In the event of any leaks in the next 10 years, as long as preventative maintenance has been done we will honor any leak as long as it’s not storm related.

    I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  

    This complaint is not in regards to the labor warranty. This complaint is in regards to the GAF 50 year warranty that was part of the bid that we agreed to. It states that once the roof has been completed, the roofing company will register the warranty with GAF and we will receive an e-mail confirming the registration. According to the GAF website, that needed to be completed by the roofing company within 45 days of the roofs completion. Our roof was completed at the end of May, it has now been over 3 months and we still do not have the warranty. We have contacted SS Construction several times in relation to this and were told it was due to a representative change and that accreditations had to be renewed but we still have not received this warranty. Please let us know if we will not be getting the warranty, we chose SS Construction even though they were not the cheapest option because we trusted them with this major purchase but we are having trouble understanding why we cannot seem to get this warranty we were promised.

    I will be very happy to close this one I receive proof of the warranty but I still have not received and it is nearly 10 days so unfortunately I have to reject this response until the warranty comes through.
