Rant to PEC - Priority Electric Contracting. If you need electrical work done, I highly advise to ?????? use them! They completed a 19k whole house re-wire for us in a January 2022. That included all new wiring, outlet plugs, switches and a door bell. I won't get into half of the lights they left incomplete because they claim they couldn't pull the wire to them (several closets & over the kitchen sink) - so no lighting in any of those areas. I also won't get into the crappy job they did as far as leaving holes around the outlets, light switches and wall. A few months after the job was complete, the door **** stopped working. A couple months later, we noticed several plugs in the living room as well as one in a bedroom stopped working. I then decided I'd call the owner, *******************************, to find out if these issues were covered under warranty. He clarified that it was under warranty.Today I received a bill for $353.52 for this work. Yes, the "warranty work". So I called ****** to clarify why I'm receiving this bill and I get told AFTER the warranty work has been done that "it doesn't cover the materials". He was less than professional and exclaimed that "he doesn't cover light bulbs so why should he cover this".I've attached a few pics of their work. The wall one was left with a huge hole that we had to cover up after they busted a water pipe in our wall and flooded the room! The blank covers pictured (some of them are pictured but not all) are where we used to have outlets but they claimed they couldn't get wires there.

    Business response

    03/27/2023

I am in receipt of the complaint with the Better Business Bureau involving ********* or Warranty Issues filed by ******************* ("complainant") on or about March 17, 2023, at **** a.m.  Such statement provided by complainant is factually incorrect for the dates and the amount.

On or about December of 2021 we were contacted by ***************************************, the realtor for the seller's, to rewire a house on State highway 108, that was under contract with the Complainant.  After looking at the property, I was upfront with ****************** regarding the fact that some of the existing electrical would not be able to be replace due to accessibility with the loft and some of the wood paneling and ceilings that could not be replaced.  I was also up front about the fact that there will be most likely be some areas that the sheetrock will have to be repaired, retextured, and repainted, (we do not repair sheetrock or texture and paint).  A re wire like this cannot normally be completed without damage to sheetrock because of the old boxes that have to come out of the wall.  The only reason we were able to do some of the work was because the roof was being replace also, and we had to be there immediately to drill holes and pull wires between removing the old roof, and installing the new roof.

The original invoice for the completed work was sent on December 26, 2021, in the amount of $14,500 (not $19,000 as stated), to *************************************

I was contacted in early March 2023, by Complainant, and informed that the doorbell and several plugs had stopped working.  I informed her that if it was something Priority Electrical Contracting, LLC (PEC) had caused then it would not be charged to her, (even after the warranty had expired, which was one year in the original invoice).  We arrived at the job and replaced a chime kit for the doorbell and replace an outlet that was bad.  These two bad items were replaced and everything was working properly again.  PEC then sent an invoice for $352.53, which is when the Complainant contacted the office stating that there has been a mistake and she received an invoice.  She was upset, and I told her that the warranty had expired on the labor, but the labor wasn't the problem, two items had gone bad that needed to be replaced.  The workmanship wasn't the issue.

After further discussion that got heated she didn't agree and said that we weren't going to get anywhere over the phone.  I agreed with her, and she asked how this would get resolved, and I said If you aren't going to pay the invoice then this issue is resolved.  She said okay, and then hung up the phone.  Then a short time later I was getting phone calls about the rant on ******** about us from Ms. ************* Then the complaint with the BBB after that.

I was up front about the sheetrock repair and that there would be areas inaccessible due to the nature of the house. (Which seems to be the nature of the complaint).  I also told her over the phone that if she wasn't going to pay the invoice that the issue was resolved.
