Ancestry.com constantly asks me to upgrade when I have already paid for my membership. This is very annoying. I am not certain what ancestry's issue is but I find this practice intrusive and I I use Family Search more and more. WHAT IS GOING ON WITH ANCESTRY?!

I saw a charge on my bank account for $180.20. I was confused because I received no indication from any source as to the charge. Come to find out after looking up the phone number attached to the charge that it was Ancestry.com that had charged me that money. Now I was upset at the fact that I received absolutely no prior warning via email that I was going to be charged this amount. I called the following day and explained to ********, the agent, that there was no prior communication about any pending charge and that I wanted a refund because I no longer wanted the service. She said she understood and after putting me on hold for a couple of minutes, she came back on the line and proceeded to tell me that I am not *********** any refund because of my 6 months discounted price or something to that nature that I had before. I instantly became furious and again reiterated that I was not contacted before being charged for the service I no longer use. I swear she went on hold for a few seconds and upon coming back on, she proceeded to issue me a refund. They are using scripted tactics to try and not refund people for charges. I was angry at the fact that I had to jump through hoops to get a chargeback, which I did already. They are banking on people to go along with their refusal tactics to issue refunds and I think its dead wrong. Their agents are running a script where they refuse to refund money but if customer objects, they then refund the money immediately. If you received no prior warning that you are about to be charge through a renewal, stand your ground. You have rights, contact your bank if you have to.

Apparently, Ancestry is yet ************** for perverts to prey on people just trying to learn more about themselves. Ancestry needs to filter out creeps. People, like me, will stop subscribing to their services unless they do something about this problem.

After 3 years AncestryDNA now shows error message and denies access to my family tree.

False advertising. Rolled out a new update in which essentially every single feature (except for your own family tree, and your basic dna matches) costs an extra 15$ a month to access. Aka all the featured they advertise as coming with the kit? You will not be receiving any of that. You'll need to pay for a membership to gain access to it all.Taking away a majority of the features people purchased their kits for and locking it behind a paywall is genuinely vile. Suggestion for everyone: Save your raw DNA data from ancestry, then delete your kit. They don't deserve our continued usage of their services, when they're clearly just trying to s**** over their customers in any way they can.

Very limited information. Website is terrible and difficult to navigate. Free trial online cancellation doesn't work. They want you to call. This is illegal. Any online service that lets you sign up online is required to allow you to cancel online. Do not sign up for the service or the free trial. What a scam.

Newspaper. Com scam, billing. I never agreed to described to their services. They billed me almost $75 for something that I didnt order. Then they told me I had to give them my credit card information in order to find my account which they had billed. Find this is completely unethical. Finally, they came back and told me that it was on my wifes account. She never asked to have newspaper.com either. poor business practices.

I didn't really use the site much, so I canceled my membership, they still took $259.00 out of my account 2 days after I canceled. I called and stated that I wanted my money back because I canceled the service. I was told that since I canceled 2 days after the contract renewed, that I couldn't get my money back. I asked if I could speak to someone else so i could remedy this, and was told "no".

I started a free trial on January 1st, **** to archives.com which I also was offered a free trial to newspaper publishers extra and I accepted the offer. Nowhere on the website could I find where to cancel this portion of the free subscription. I was able to cancel the archives and I called days before my free trial to newspapers ended and could never get anyone on the phone. I emailed days in advance also. I finally was able to reach someone on the phone 1/8/**** in which I was told it was cancelled and a refund would be issued for the newspapers publishers extra. Ive had to call multiple times because I still havent received my refund and the second time I called I was told it was rejected. I was told a third time of calling they reissued the refund. This is awful and seems like fraud. Also the woman I spoke to today refused to Let me talk to a supervisor.
