We have a no soliciting sign on our door and this company has rung our doorbell three times over the past year. There is no way to miss the sign. When we answer the door the salesman says he's not a solicitor he's informing us of 'energy options.' If you are selling something you are a solicitor. We want the visits to stop immediately and the NO SOLICITOR sign to be respected. This company has done the same thing to several of our neighbors that also have similar signs on their doors. We just want this company to leave us alone.Business response

Sunder came to our home with an offer to install solar panels at no cost under a program that we were told could lower our electric costs. We were told repeatedly that we would pay a set amount for our power with small yearly increases. We were also told repeatedly that we would only have one bill. Our electric bill averaged about $130 a month before this. We are now being billed almost $100 a month from CMP, for delivery charges and overages. So our bill went from 130 to $230. I have a feeling this is a case of "let the buyer beware". I got no response from emails I sent to Sunder and the Maine branch seems to have disappeared. I am so angry and disappointed by this. Also, the guy from Sunder who explained the contract was gone from Sunder a couple of weeks later. We were lied to repeatedly by him.Business response

This company did nothing but sell myself and my family 75000 worth of solar equipment that has not worked properly since day one. No one helped with issues after or during installation. They got their pay checks and disappeared. They also let the installation crew install Solar equipment on a 50 year old breaker box that less than one year later needs replaced and has already been temporarily fixed by and elecrician once. Because when turning the breaker back on per Sunder Solar's installation companies partner company Freedom forever my solor box blew! I was compensated by Freedom forever for time my solor system was not working appropriately one month or more $269. And they check BOUNCED! DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH SUNDER SOLAR OR FREEDOM FOREVERBusiness response

***** ******* came to my house selling a solar system. he told me that the electricity would come from the grid and i wont have an srp or aps electric bill. he said my total electric bill would be 96 a month for 3 years. In addition he promised that i was gonna get a ***** check for signing up. none of that was true and i was stuck with a high electric bill monthly from srp and i never recived a ***** check. kenmar is a liar and i want to be compensdsatedBusiness response

We worked with **** ***** from Sunder and it has been a total nightmare experience. It has taken over a year to get the system activated and we had to cover the loan payments for 6 months due to us replacing a broken window without a permit (something we didn't know we needed). The company told us they no longer have to reimburse our payments because of this even though this was never communicated to us. We resolved the issue with the permit within a month and it took Freedom Forever 3 months to send a technician to fix the error in the system, this is also after they installed it in the wrong spot in the first place. We were then told we could get PTO from the city within 3-5 business days. I called endlessly for 3 months and kept being told to call the city to see what the hold up is and after finally getting a empathetic manager on the phone at ******** he admitted they never actually submitted the paperwork to the city. He did so immediately and our system was finally activated 1 year later. Now that it's running we are still getting an energy bill even though our sales person told us our system would more than produce enough energy during the day to offset our nightly use from the ******* top it all off the roofing company they used were absolutely awful, left garbage every day, nails everywhere and even stole my ladder. The work was so poor as well we had to have them come back multiple times to fix the horrible workmanship. Absolute nightmare of an experience and I hope this warning will keep anyone away from working with Sunder Energy and Freedom Forever.Business response

Unfortunately, all of the issues regarding the installation of your system from roofing issues to permitting are a result of the installer, Freedom Forever. Freedom Forever is no longer the installer for Sunder Energy and all claims regarding your system will need to be handled directly with Freedom Forever.

When I signed up for solar, I had no problem contacting someone for assistance. I have been receiving invoices from NVEnergy and I was wondering why, as I was told that would stop entirely. I have tried on numerous occasions to reach out to someone. First, to the person that I was working with in the beginning. No response. I can only assume that she no longer represents the company, however, I should have been contacted by someone. Also, when I couldn't reach anyone to speak with, I was given the option of sending an email request, which I did, however, I never received a response. I am now questioning my contract with this company as I was told if ever there is an issue with one of the panels, that they would fix or replace - free of charge, however, how would I ever reach someone for this assistance? I do not want to do business with a company that does not hold up to their end of the bargain. I believe that at this point in time, I would like the panels removed and my contract stopped. I obviously still owe for my new roof that was installed through channels with the solar company, however, that can be written under a new contract with the roofing company. I feel extremely taken advantage of and I do not want to be affiliated with the solar company.Initial Complaint

Today, salesman named ****** from *************, ** came to my home offering solar panels. After politely rejecting his proposal for solar panels, the gentleman refused to shake hands because I did not make an agreement with him. I let him know that shaking hands is respect concept and he just said I only shake hands when people agree. If this is the type of individuals Sunder energy has working, they need to review complaints to oust those employees.Business response

Aggressive door to door canvassers at my Temecula CA residence today.Would not take NO for an answer., demanding to know why I had not put solar panels on my roof.Then started lying about one of his competitors going out of business, poor information btw. Always leaves a bad taste in your mouth when someone you just met starts bad mouthing someone or something you actually know quite a bit about.Then thought that it would be good for a door to door canvasser to give financial advice to me because he had read a ************************* book!Not sure if its required company reading or that was just from his book of the month club.Very, very rude Soliciting within the City limits of Temecula without a solicitors license.Business response

I had my solar system installed back in August of 2021. The agreement that was singed stated the system would be covered under a 25 year warranty. Well October of the same year, one of the panels started to fail. I contacted Sunder about the issue, but no response. About a month later I recieved a call back from them stating one of my panels was failing and they would need to send a technician out to verify. I took the day off from work, the technician showed up and verified it was a faulty optimizer on the panel. A few days later I received a service call from Sunder stating that one of my panels was failing and that they would need to send out a technician to verify. I told the lady on the phone that someone had already verified the problem and needed to order the part. She agreed and canceled the appointment. It has now been over 2 years, with me calling every other week to check on a resolution to the issue and have yet to hear anything back. I am just looking to solve the issue at hand with the panels.Business response

Sunder Energy is a solar sales company that is partnered with solar installation companies who are responsible for the installation, warranties, production, and ongoing support of your solar system. Your system was installed by Freedom Forever and the 25 year production guarantee is under contract with Freedom Forever, not Sunder Energy. Sunder Energy has no authority over your system, production, or guarantees expressed in your solar system contract. Any inspections or technician visits to your home regarding this system would have been conducted by a Freedom Forever employee. You will need to contact Freedom Forever at ************** or ********************************** to address the aforementioned claim. Sunder Energy no longer works with Freedom Forever for solar installation. We hope your issue can be addressed and satisfied with your installation company.

We had a Sunder Energy Solar Rep work our neighborhood in April of 2023. The rep that we met with scheduled an appointment with us for a future consultation. *********************** was the supervisor who came along with the original rep on this sales consultation. During the consultation, ***** advised that we would get a 30% rebate that we can take after we file our taxes the next year. However, on August 29, 2023, ***** stated that we would have to talk to our accountant about the 30% personal tax credit. That is not what was explained prior to the solar installation. It was stated it would be a 30% tax rebate, not a tax credit. That one word makes a huge difference. During the next 3 months, I reached out to various people in the solar field and in our *** network to see how the process is supposed to actually work. I was informed that it is indeed a tax credit, not a rebate. I sent a text to ***** on 12/20/2023 inquiring why there wasn't a deduction in the price of the contract as we thought the 30% would be applied to that. On 1/3/2024, ***** finally provided new information. She stated that "Now if you have been making payments and/or add the tax credit then the payment will be re-amortized and go down." We cannot apply a tax credit that we cannot take due to having no tax liability. I replied, "OK. So I need to tell them I want to use the whole credit towards the balance, correct?" Her reply, "Right, so payment can be reduced." I called her on 1/22/2024, and she stated that she asked when we planned to file our taxes so that we could take the 30% credit. I informed her that she never stated that. She started to backtrack saying she did ask because that is the only way we can get the 30%. This is absolutely NOT what we were told going through the process and even after trying to get answers as to how to reduce the solar bill. Now, we're stuck with a huge monthly payment because of information that was false and misleading.Business response
