As a representative of The ********************, Im deeply concerned about Travel Marvelzs ongoing misuse of our name and reputation to secure bookings. They consistently mislead guests, booking them into rooms they dont want. Most guests seek to stay in our historic main building, which is renowned for its paranormal history and connection to ******* ****. However, Travel Marvelz frequently tells guests theyll be staying there, only to book them in the ***************, our newest structure. While Aspire is lovely, it is far from the historic experience that guests expect when they visit The ***************** make matters worse, Travel Marvelz does not provide us with guest contact information, so were unable to reach out to confirm reservations. As a result, guests often arrive thinking theyre staying in the main building, only to discover otherwise. This leads to upset and frustration, as the guests are understandably disappointed by this bait-and-switch tactic. Just today, a guest arrived to celebrate their anniversary and was devastated to learn their reservation had been canceled because Travel Marvelz failed to collect the required deposit. We were sold out, so their special occasion was ruined.Travel Marvelz has claimed that "a hotel has the right to remove itself from being sold through the channel we use to book" and that "the hotel is responsible for loading its information." This is inaccurate. Travel Marvelz books through our website, pretending to be individual guests, and we have no formal agreement with them.We ask that Travel Marvelz immediately stop using The ********************* website for bookings. Their deceptive practices continue to cause significant confusion and disappointment for guests, which reflects poorly on us, even though we have no association with them.Travel Marvelz, LLC Response

Hello, Our goal is always to minimize any potential issue arise with a hotel partner. We make thousands of bookings per week and have great relationships with thousands of hotel partners across the US and Canada. Some of the reservations we make are through a system called Sabre which Travel Marvelz uses. Sabre does NOT automatically send any guest contact information on purpose. As a travel agency, the guest is our customer and we are the liaison with the guest for any kind of contact. That being said, many hotel partners email us daily and request guest contact info which we always provide upon request. All the Stanley hotel had to do was reach out to us and the guest contact info would have been provided. Hotel partners are responsible for whatever descriptions/information is loaded into Sabre. Travel agencies have nothing to do with the data inserted by hotels into Sabre. All we can do is trust that the details inserted in Sabre are correct and true. We do not use the Stanley's website for bookings in any way. We use several hotel aggregators (Sabre being 1 of them) for hotel content and reservations are made through those. It could be that other aggregators besides Sabre also may have incorrect info about the Stanley in their databases. Keep in mind that there are hundreds of thousands of hotels loaded and for the most part, the data is correct, but there are anomalies that do arise at times. In summation, we truly do regret any issues experienced by the Stanley, we strongly value our hotel partner relationships. We would be happy to discuss this further with a hotel manager/owner and come up with a plan to stop any further issues. Please contact us at contact@travelmarvelz.com and we will gladly discuss this further. Thank you for hearing us out.Review from Amie W

Hello, Can someone please contact me regarding a reservation for a guest you have booked with Dancing Bear Lodge? I have emailed and called multiple times and multiple days this week. It seems this is the only way to get a response from someone. We are in the office daily from 9:00am until 6:00pm EST. This is a time sensitive issue.Review from Debbie M.

This company is HORRIBLE!! I work at a hotel and they just booked a stay for a poor woman who has no idea that they booked 4 separate reservations, for 4 consecutive nights, so that they could charge her their booking fee of $16 for EACH SEPARATE RESERVATION. THAT IS ROBBERY! We have dealt with this company for the last 4 years and have not yet managed to eliminate them being able to book our hotel. They tell our guest totally incorrect information and claim they are here at the hotel. They have made many of our guest miserable. Please Better Business Bureau, do something about this company!!!!!!Travel Marvelz, LLC Response

It would be helpful if you could tell us which hotel you work for as well as the guest name(s) that you are referring to. We record all calls and we are able to go back and analyze exactly what was spoken.
A hotel has the right to remove itself from being sold at any time through the channel that we use to book the property in question. No hotel is obligated in any way to be made available to us for selling.
The hotel is responsible for loading their own information on the source that we use to book your property and this is what we use to inform the guests. If the information there is incorrect, the hotel is responsible for updating it as needed.
As for the fee, all travel sites charge fees, and this has been going on for many years, there is nothing abnormal about this practice. There is overhead in maintaining a site that offers over 250k properties worldwide.Lastly, our intent is never for anyone to have a negative experience. We would be happy to review any situation where the guests are unhappy. We sell thousands of rooms per day, and for the most part, we have positive reviews.
Thank you for your time and let us know if you need anything elseReview from Lydia T

We made a reservation with Travel Marvelz, then called the actual hotel they made ** a reservation with. We thought we were talking to the hotel consortium's number--Travel Marvelz hid the fact that they were not hotel representatives. The Travel Marvelz said there were shuttle from this hotel when requested, free. There are not. She said that she deducted the $15.99 service charge, the charge was made during our call--not deducted. The local number to the hotel got ** a front desk person who noted that there were not shuttles. And that the company that booked the reservation Travel Marvelz, is not to be trusted. She advised ** to check if we'd already been charged, we had.Never do business with this company. We're trying to cancel the reservation now--very difficult to do. Outrageous!!Travel Marvelz, LLC Response

Thank you for the opportunity to review this case in depth. We are an independent hotel booking agency and we make reservations for over 200,000 hotels worldwide. We are required to adhere to strict guidelines set by the FTC and are in direct compliance in our business practices. When a customer searches for a hotel online, they will return multiple results including advertisements from third-party reservation companies. The customer would have had to click on one of our ads or call our inbound call center to be directed to our company.
We have reviewed the call recording and found that the agent answered the call by identifying as a representative of ReservationCounter.com an independent booking service for top hotels.
We have found that the customer requested to book a reservation. The customer asked if Ramada is a pet friendly location, and the agent advised that it was not. The customer and the agent discussed pet friendly locations near the airport, but customer did not request a shuttle service for any of these properties. The agent did not guarantee that shuttle service would be available at the Red Roof Inn. The agent provided a complete recap of this reservation in which all the details of the reservation were reviewed. The agent informed the caller of the complete name and address of the property as Red Roof Inn Seattle Airport - SEATAC located at 16838 International Boulevard, Seatac, WA, informed the caller that the reservation was for 2 QUEEN BEDS room type, confirmed the dates of stay as checking in on 2023-06-09 and checking out on 2023-06-10, and informed the caller that the total price for this reservation would be $180.88 USD which would include all taxes and fees. The agent then read the cancellation policy verbatim which states:
You can cancel free of charge until 4pm June 08, 2023 (hotel time). There are no refunds for no shows or early checkouts.
The agent asked if the information provided was correct and if the caller had additional questions. We found that the caller confirmed that the booking information was correct and agreed to finalize the reservation. Our system does show that the $15.99 service fee was waived and payment for that charge has not been collected. Please let us know if you have any other questions.Review from Sara H

If I could give 0 stars, I would. As a worker at a resort property, I cringe when I see your name come up as an online reservation. NO contact information is ever provided for the guest. Your "company" does NOT know our policies, our room types or our property. How could you possibly think you're providing the guest with accurate information? And furthermore, trying to get a hold of anyone concerning a reservation made is impossible. I have been on hold for 20 mins without a single person picking up during that time! You cannot tell me you are not a scam company.Travel Marvelz, LLC Response

Thank you for reaching out with your concerns. We do not contract directly with hotel properties and only purchase inventory through other online travel agencies. If there are any concerns about your listing on third party sites, we would recommend reaching out to your OTA contacts to ensure that they have your listing correct. Online travel agencies that contract directly with hotels typically also contract to sell off that inventory to other online travel agencies such as ours. When these purchases are made, the listing information provided by the hotel is given to the selling party and posted "as-is" so it is important to ensure this information is correct. Please let us know if there are any other questions.Review from Sam R

SCAM !! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY !!They do not have a valid physical address or phone number. They will lie to you about amenities available at the hotel you are booking. Obviously fake website. Hidden fees not disclosed and will likely swipe your credit information too. They have lied about my business and we will be finding a way to ban their reservations before they hurt even more guests.Travel Marvelz, LLC Response

Hello,Not only do we have a physical address, we also have a call center and have had one for over 15 years. We sell thousands of hotel bookings per week. We deal with hundreds of thousands of hotels worldwide and do all we can to keep track of all amenities in each one of those hotels. It is a constant task that we follow. We strongly value our hotel partners and do all we can to have a good relationship. If a hotel does not wish to deal with us, please contact Sabre and have your property removed from their system. This will ensure that we are unable to sell your property. We are sending you business in good faith. Thank you for your time.Review from Jamie Y.

I 100% agree with the other reviewers that this is a scam company. I booked with "reservationdesk.com" believing this was the hotel's website. Travel plans to a meeting with my company were canceled last minute due to no fault of my own. After calling 3 different customer service numbers for this company and speaking with Priceline (who they book for, had I known this I would have directly booked with them as they are a reputable company). Horrendous customer serviceTravel Marvelz, LLC Response
