Our landlord is dodging calls and won’t fix our ceiling among other things. On June 16, our oven broke and on August 1 he responded to our text. On August 20, the neighbors upstairs flooded causing us damage as well. The landlord had ripped out a part of our ceiling, ripped up the carpet to dry a section of the carpet/floor, and told us that in a week he will come back to fix everything. When we flooded, our bathroom door was warped so it no longer shuts and they didn’t nail down the carpet when they removed the tent so nails are stepped on on occasion. Another issue is they told us we cannot use our electric stove anymore because the wires are exposed and no longer tacked up. We do not have a working oven, stove, or bathroom door. There is a hole in the ceiling with carpet that isn’t tacked down and the landlord will not answer the phone. I call September 22-23 and was sent to the answering service who told me that my stove will be fixed when they fix my stove. My husband and I are trying to find a way to fix the problem but we don’t want to go to court. It’s been two months and it won’t be a good winter with a hole in our ceiling. If you could please tell the landlord to call us, that would be great. We need this fixed so we can stay healthy.

I am renting under Uintah Property Management and moved in to the apartment in March. when I first arrived, I noticed my tub had a crack and has black mold trying to creep through the crack. I informed them immediately due to the extreme dangers of black mold. I left written and verbal information on the matter with management and they have yet to do anything about it up to now which is Dec. 4, 2022. The property is NOT maintained at all and have had to even step over 3 to 4 foot tall weeds in order to even get to my car. I asked management to come landscape like they promised in the lease but this matter was also obviously ignored. It has also been snowing in Utah for a few months now and they have not plowed until this morning which they didn't even get plowed out. My fellow neighbors are getting stuck and its costing all of us a lot of money to either fix things ourselves or because of loss of work. Maintenance, plowing, and landscaping as stated in the lease agreement is on them but they refuse to do their job and keep their agreement on their end. I warned them multiple times that if they continue to just ignore all of us that I would contact you guys in order to get things straightened out. I just want to i've here safely but fear sickness everyday due to the issues here. I have kids and cant even let them stay due to black mold living under my tub. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE help all of us!!!! My number is ###-###-####.

    Business response

    12/02/2023

This "complaint" was submitted by a seemingly healthy middle aged male tenant whom claimed to be a "military veteran who needed a hand up".  After being providing that "hand up" it quickly became clear that he was actually looking for a "hand out".  He was approved (by the then owner of the property) to rent an updated unit with new paint, flooring, & kitchen cabinets.  The unit was not new, but more than met the standard of a clean, safe, and maintained residence.  This tenant chose repeatedly to NOT pay rent and interacted with management staff dishonestly, disrespectfully, & aggressively; month after month.  He exploited every rent assistance program known to the rental industry before ultimately being evicted by the new building owner for not paying rent.  This complaint is false, levied by a dishonest person as just another attempt to prolong the inevitable result of being evicted.  He was evicted and (per the new owner of the building) left the unit "trashed".

I am rejecting this response because:
This is just untrue and another attempt to avoid the landlords from taking responsibility for their mishaps.
    Sincerely,
