I am extremely disappointed with my recent experience with SiteGround. I purchased a Black Friday hosting plan, assuming it would allow me to switch my existing website to the new plan, as there was no clear indication on their website that the offer applied only to new plans. After purchasing, I discovered I couldnt migrate my current website to the new plan without risking deletion of my website. When I tried to cancel the new plan, I was told that I will lose my current websites, further adding to the frustration.I contacted support for assistance, but they confirmed there was no way to transition my existing site to the new plan, without canceling current plan and building it from scratch on the new plan. This critical limitation should have been explicitly mentioned in the promotional material. Not providing this information upfront feels deceptive, especially during a major sales event like Black Friday.SiteGround has consistently advertised itself as a customer-centric ********************** provider, but this experience has shown a lack of transparency and flexibility. Customers deserve better communication about plan limitations before making a purchase.I strongly recommend potential customers carefully scrutinize *********************** promotions and policies to avoid falling into the same frustrating situation. This is a terrible Web Hosting service. Please look elsewhere to save yourself a large amount of trouble. After 60 days they completely delete all your backups and websites with no chance of getting them back. They have no Phone number to get help. If you need help you are constantly redirected to AI that offers no suggestions or help. I finally found their phone number on the ****** Consumer website. I selected 1 as any other number refers you back to their AI website. I finally reached someone on the phone and they had to guide me through their cumbersome website to retrieve an access code to speak to someone in the area I needed. After all that I find out they completely delete all websites including all backups after 60 days. I didn't see the email stating renewal as they send out so many promotions. I found the email after speaking to someone in person and the email stated to avoid possible data loss or service interruption, login to renew. Two days later I received an email that it was canceled. So everything is now completely gone. Please find better hosting your yourself.SiteGround Response

Our policy for shared hosting plans' data deletion for non-renewal is a total of 60 days from the failed payment date. So this makes a 30-day prior notice, with another 60 days total after a failed renewal. A few years ago, SiteGround was fantastic (*********). Then they shifted their strategy and now they shaft their customers. Two days ago (Sept. 27, 2024), I had an extended chat with them to find out how to pay for their services. They say "pay all or not at all." Since I couldn't pay without going hungry, I asked my installment payments. No, they said. After the 1 hour conversation ended without my agreement to pay, they charged me the full amount 2 days later. Now I have to fight with them to get my money back. They are professional scam artists who act like AI bots (maybe they are) who never-ending upselling and high-pressure tactics to pay make them a company to AVOID.SiteGround Response

The goal is to avoid any unintentional service interruption in case of a forgotten renewal for example. We hired siteground to host our websites Siteground took all our websites down without notice and locked us out of our admin for no good reason at all also sitegrounds customer service is the worse people we ever felt with they remind me of scammers on your Robo calls trying to sell you something you can’t get a straight answer or even get to talk to someone on there so called compliance team they they are scum and do not really care about you or your clients websites that they took down you can’t get anywhere with them then they send you to there legal dept and are very demanding telling you what you must do to prove your ownership after we sent them everything they asked us for they still are not helping siteground are the scum you don’t want to do business with ever the only one that answer your emails are there sales team telling you they can’t help you after you pour out everything that’s going on they really are the worse careless bunch we ever had to deal with and this is all for nothing they dropped this nightmare on us out of nowhere for no reason and now they have us defending our selfs with there law firm for nothing nothing we haven’t done anything at all please don’t do business with them this could happen to you for no reason report siteground if you have had any problem with them leave siteground to show them you know what they could do to you leave siteground They made me rate them to have this review go live had to give them a star hated to give them a star they are not worth a star at all run leave siteground research siteground and see what people are saying about them I’m not alone on YouTube the have people putting graphics up that siteground sucks watch them leave siteground you deserve much better and much better is out there find themSiteGround Response
