Requesting full refund of the amount paid of a 3 year fireplace maintenance contract starting on 02/28/2024. So far no maintenance services has been made. When trying to contact the provider by phone, including their various locations and their Headquarters in ******* VA, their phone numbers were blocked. Seems that the business went out of operations.

On June 3rd, 2024 Mr. ***** owner of Freon Doctor sold my wife and I a service contract for one year for our HVAC unit for $400. We have a signed contract with Freon Doctor. Our HVAC unit is having problems today, November 14, 2024, and when we have tried calling the company phone number and Mr. ****** cell phone, these numbers have been disconnected leaving us no way to contact the company. After reading information on this BBB site, it appears that Freon Doctor has stopped talking to all of its former customers in an effort to keep money fraudulently collected. The company is not acting in good faith. Currently we are working with our ******************* to reiburse us for Freon Doctors failure to honor our contract.

Good Morning,I had my downstair AC/Unit place by Freon Doctor last year, June 13, 2023. The total price for the equipment and service is $14,900 which was paid in full via check and credit card.I need help on getting my money back. I was over charged for the amount of $5,900.00 for the the AC/Heat unit service/equipment that I received for my home back in June 2023. I have paid for the service/equipment in full and there should not be any charges against me. The over charged of $5,900.00 was charged against my credit card back in August, 2023 and I still did not received my money back. I have called/texted **** (Owner/Sale Representative) several time and he said he will bring or mail a check to me but he never did. He seems to be lying to me now and not being honest. I have trusted him but now he does not answer my phone calls and responds to my calls and text messages. Also, I have paid $600 for annual service contract to repair and clean my AC/Heat Unit but no one contact me and come out to do the job. I need help on getting my money back for this as well. Currently, my upstair heat unit is not working and I email and call Freon Doctor but got no response.I have tried to text and send email to the Freon Doctor several times but got no response/answer. I have also called the Freon Doctor's office number but the phone line is not in service any longer. Also, I have checked their website and it is no longer available.I believed that this company is reaping people off by overcharging for the equipment/unit, repair, and services. Also, they are lying and not being honest to their customers. Please help. Thank you.

The Freon Doctor came and cleaned and started our gas log fireplace as they have done for several years. We paid for the service and purchased a 3 year maintenance agreement with them that day (10-17-23) for 2024, 2025, and 2026. We have a written contract and it is paid in full. None of his business numbers are working and there is no way to contact him for the service. We would like to be reimbursed for the 3 year contract which amounts to $250.00 plus tax, so we can find another service.

Freondoctor came to my residence on 7-16-24 responding to a HVAC problem. They told me my evaporator coil was leaking freon and that they would recharge with freon b4 they left so I would have cooling until the following Tuesday when they would return to replace the coil. They took my c/c info and quoted a price of $2211.30. During the following week they never once responded to numerous phone calls, texts or emails. They never returned the following Tuesday and not heard from them since. I expect a full refund if c/c is charged. Since then I have had another company come out and my evaporator coil is NOT leaking as I was told by Freon Doctor. The Invoice # from Freondoctor is *****. This has been very frustrating. No company should be allowed to treat the public like this. Temperatures have been 100+ several days. It is now July 29 and still have no cooling. I fully expect a full refund and explanation from Freondoctor as to why I was treated this way. If they did not want the job they could have told me up front

On June 28, 2024 I signed a contract with Freon Doctor for the purchase and installation of a new air handler and heat pump 2 ton for my house. Once they took the $2,750 deposit, I was provided an installation date. I received a call telling me they needed to reschedule the install date. This happened 2 more times and now, customer service is not answering phones or returning emails asking for a status. As of today, I have to received any communication from this company.

Freon doctor *** came to our home 10/30 to clean ($99) and service two fireplaces. We were grossly (fraudulently) overcharged for parts. I emailed and called the company the same day after they left and realized the cost discrepancy for the part they claimed to cost $891. This is a $5 part. I was ignored repeatedly. I called at least 15 times and left messages. I emailed and requested an itemized receipt for parts and they said theyd get it to me then it never happened. I told them i was hopeful it was human error and not fraudulent overcharging. I told them I was quoted a new insert starting at $1200 and then was charged $851 for a fix (plus $99 for cleaning) - it sounds like I could have just replaced the entire thing if thats the case. Im hoping this was an error. In my research thermocouples and igniters are not nearly $851 even with labor. Please advise as soon as youre able.An assistant who I has spoken with several times apologized and eventually gave me the owners number. I called and he said he wasnt giving me any money back or an itemized receipt. I followed up by email and text again requesting a refund. : $891 part was indicated on the invoice. In a text message 12/28 in response to my request for refund for being overcharged, the owner of the company claimed Is parts labor tax all includedWe were charged $57.71 in addition for tax on invoice. The reviews online have many others saying they were overcharged.

I have attached the paid invoice to this correspondence. The customer agreed to the work and paid in full at time of service. The invoice clearly articulates the cost of each item. If, the customer wanted to dispute the cost, the customer had the right to do this prior to service. At no time did the customer indicate they had an issue with cost. At this time, we don't feel the need to refund money as she agreed to work.

    Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the offer and/or response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

I did question the amount on the day of service. Im not arguing the invoice - Im arguing its a fraudulent overcharge based on the parts cost which was admitted to by the company.  I just want my money back at this point.

    Regards,

    Hello,

At time of service, an invoice is provided. This invoice outlines what is being done at time of service.  This is the time the customer can ask all questions pertaining to work. Once the invoice is signed, work completed, and payment made, the customer can't claim fraud.  When signing the invoice, we as the contracted company to do the work assume the customer has all questions answered as it pertains to the work we are conducting. We do not feel it appropriate to provide a full refund to a customer after work was completed when the dispute is based on questions the customer should have asked prior to the work being done.
