I contacted them because the floors in my house are uneven throughout the first floor, with bulges, and dips. The area around the stairs seems to be sinking. The upstairs has voids and raised areas in the floors. Some of the doors don't stay open. I've lived in the house for 5yrs and it seems to keep getting worse. I contacted Tiger C, explained the situation, I explained that I'm not sure what the problem is because I see no cracks in the foundation. They came out to do an inspection. While they were here I pointed out all the problems I saw since I moved in. I told them I'd like to try to get my floors level. They did their inspection and told me they would be able to do it, but there was nothing they could do about the upstairs. It was possible that leveling the downstairs would correct the upstairs.I asked for blocking throughout the crawl space to correct and twisting joists as well as repairing any broken joists. They agreed. (This form will not allow me to enter enough characters to explain the whole story.)After everything, their work did nothing but cause more damage to my house. There are bulges in the floors, still a broken joist, the floor is still bouncy, the stairs is still sunken.I took pictures of their work, in the pictures you'll see shims that are not fully between the joist and support beam. Shims that do not even touch the joist, meaning I can see a gap between the joist and the support beam where the joist should rest on the beam. Most of the joists are not resting on the support beams. At the heaviest part of the house, where the stairs to the second floor and above that the stairs to the finished attic are; they have two support beams banded together and a **** set at that split. It forms a V, as in that split point is lower than the opposite ends. The only blocking they did was around the stairs. I took a picture of a broken joist that they did not sister.etc.

I attempted to give Tiger C a chance to come back and correct the work they did before filing this but they ignored my email.

    Describe the complaint:

Over the 5yrs I've lived in my house it's had uneven floors. The downstairs floors are not level, the upstairs floors have voids and what felt like raised spots. The upstairs and downstairs also have problems with doors closing, and not staying open. I saw no cracks in the foundation walls, so I was not sure what the problem was. I figured the main beam might have started to sag, possibly from settling, but I was at a loss since I didn't see cracks in the foundation walls.

I called Tiger C Construction to figure out and fix whatever was wrong with my floors on the first and second floor. I explained to them over the phone all the problems I was seeing. When they came and did their inspection I showed them all the problems I saw in the floors, I showed them the upstairs and all its problems. They told me there was nothing they could do about the upstairs, but they can level the downstairs floors and that should help with the upstairs. I let them know I was okay with not being able to fix the upstairs as long as the downstairs get's level, I can figure out the upstairs. I believe the inspection was on Sept. 23rd 2023.

They came to start work Jan. 9th 2024. I was surprised it only took them a few days to do the work. After they finished the floors were not level, nothing had really changed other than the damage they'd caused to the sheetrock. The floors were also not as bouncy. They told me they need to let the house sit and settle before they come back to make another adjustment. They came back Apr. 18th and 25th 2024. On the 18th they raised the floors too high, they had taken no measurements that I could tell. They cracked the tile in the downstairs bathroom and the laundry room. Leaving the floors bulging there, and in the kitchen. I was no longer able to close the bathroom door, the kitchen door, or my son's bedroom door upstairs. My floors were still not level anywhere in the house, and now there were bulges. I called, and they came back out April 25th, to make corrections. I believe this is when they told me that they put a **** on my main beam which was not needed, and is why I was not able to close the kitchen door (the kitchen door is right above and parallel with the main beam). They asked me if I wanted a refund for that **** or they could use it to extend the beam they put in under the kitchen. Since my kitchen floors were not level, and where there was no **** it sagged compared to where they put the other beam and **** I said to extend the kitchen beam. They lowered the two bulges they put in under the downstairs bathroom and the laundry room. You can still see the hairline cracks in the tile. I think it was on  Jun. 24th they came back to move the **** that was on the main beam to under the kitchen. They also said they shimmed the main beam to allow for the kitchen door to close.

Still nothing was fixed though. The floors were wavy and bulged in some spots. The floors still did not feel solid, I can walk around and see things shake on my counter tops. There's bulges in the floors where they are lifted. I called them back Oct. 11th 2024 and let them know, nothing has changed with my floors, that they had only made them worse. They then told me they were done with my house, they installed what they said they were going to install, therefore the house is more stable.

After that email I went down and inspected their work myself. I tried to take pictures of everything. In the images you will see shims that are not fully between the joist and support beam. Shims that do not even touch the joist, meaning I can see a gap between the joist and the support beam, where the joist should rest on the beam. Most of the joists are not resting on the support beams. At the heaviest part of the house, where the stairs to the second floor and above that the stairs to the finished attic are; they have two support beams banded together and a **** set at that split. It may be hard to see in the image but it forms a V, as in that split point is lower than the opposite ends. At this same point there's a three pack of support beams along the joist I think meant to support the subfloor? I asked them to add blocking throughout the crawl space during the inspection, they told me they would. The only blocking they did was around the stairs. I tried to take a picture of a joist that seems to have a twist that should have been blocked. They also told me they would repair/sister any broken joist. I took a picture of a broken  joist that they did not sister.

My floors have high bulges in multiple spots, have a sunken look around the stairs, I have damaged tiles, and sheetrock, the floors never used to make a sound, now walking through my house everything creeks and makes noises as if the floor is separating, upstairs things have gotten worse too. I can no longer close my son's room door, the floors seem to be separating, there's voids and what feels like boards coming up. In the end everything just seems worse than when they started.

I was not able to attach all email conversations from Tiger Construction LLC. to this email. I could send them in another email or I've uploaded them to a ****** drive here.

I went searching on the Chesterfield county website and found some permit information:

Our scope of work provided details that it is designed to stabilize the areas where the supplemental supports and beams are installed. The amount of lift provided is not guaranteed and this is described on the contract that was signed by both parties. We never explained that the floors would be perfectly level and that we would repair all interior issues that was occurring at that home because the amount of lift is not guaranteed. We have supported the floor system with the new supports and since we have completed the project, we have returned 5 different times to address the requests that the homeowner has asked for. Each time that we have gone, the homeowner was content with the results, then will reach back out at a later date to explain other issues that he is seeing that he was already content with on the previous occasions where we came out to do the services. The contract states that we will sister 2 floor joists and install blocking for only 1 area, it was never explained that all the floor joists would be sistered and the entire crawl space would have blocking. All the work that was performed for the supplemental supports was permitted, inspected by engineers, inspected by the county, and was approved. We have stated to the homeowner in a previous email that we have no problem to return and make adjustments, but that the homeowner should not expect the floors to be leveled because if we continue lifting the floor system, more damages will continue to occur inside the home because that is what happens when the house is lifted when it is already adjusted to a settled position. We'd prefer not to continue lifting more and more, cause more interior changes, then the homeowner be upset because more damages inside the house occur because of the lifting that is requested. We have told the homeowner that we can return to add more shims in the areas needed. If the homeowner would like us to return to the crawl space to make adjustments, then we would need the homeowner to sign a document before and after the service stating the changes that were made and that the homeowner approves of the adjustments and accepts any interior and foundation changes that occur.

It's a b******* response. Ive attached pictures showing how there is no support provided, most of the joists are not on the supports and columns. They never leveled the floors, and the use the excuse of over jacking to get out of actually taking measurements and getting the floors level
