I Had contacted Brian Zier and his partner Katie **** about doing a kitchen remodel job . To include all new cabinetry , flooring , et al . I asked if it was something they would be interested in doing and they both agreed that it was. I drew up a basic floor plan and work order. Mr. Zier stated he would need to come look at the property. We agreed, and we waited ad infinitum for that to happen . He strung us along for 77 days and then texted me that he wouldn’t be able to do the job . Now granted there was a storm with multiple property damages . This had occurred @ 10 days before he recused himself from the project. For Mr. Zier to bail on the job : he had multiple choices to deal with the abandonment: 1. He should have never accepted the job. 2. Realizing he was too busy to do the job he should have withdrawn after a week or so. 3. Due to the storm damage , he should have withdrawn from the project within a day or two of the storm . The only saving grace is that no money changed hands , so we were not out from a financial point. Our loss was 77 days of mistruths and falsehoods. We could have placed our efforts elsewhere. I would not recommend this business or this builder to anyone. Bruce ********* ********* **

    BZ Builders, Corporation Response

We, BZ Builders, agreed to look at the project for Mr. ********** girlfriend in an adjoining state, quite some distance from our base. However, we considered Mr. ******** a friend and wanted to possibly help him out. We do not like to turn potential jobs away. When we decide to look at a project for a client, we always visit the site and take multiple photos with our iPad. We then make a drawing of said project for the client’s approval. Upon approval, we send the drawing and the photos to our estimator for a detailed estimate of materials and labor. We then propose a typed estimate along with all the itemized details. This process can take anywhere from three to six weeks. We never made it to the jobsite because we were slammed with a devastating flood called Hurricane Helene. Once the hurricane hit, we were all hands-on deck, trying to save our little Town and its people. I felt that with the aftermath of the storm, we would not be able to commit to Mr. ********* project, especially since it was so far from Damascus, where we are needed, sometimes, at a moment’s notice. Our sincerest apologies to Mr. ******** that he feels that we wronged him. However, the truth is that we never accepted the job. If we had, there would have been a signed contract prior to commencing work on the project. We do not accept jobs without laying eyes on the scope of worked needed or wanted. We are a professional business that abides by all requirements. We do not take the responsibility of providing quality workmanship, and complete transparency and honesty, lightly. Thank you!
