I have tried to cancel my membership both in writing and via telephone for over a year. They continue to take money out of my account after I have begged them to stop. I have send over six letters and left messages for them to call me to please cancel this. I feel I should be given six months of payments back even though I have been trying for a year to get this resolved. Please help.

I was a previous member at this fitness club. During the COVID-19 pandemic, I requested an indefinite suspension of my membership account, which was processed in June 2020. At that time I was notified that no additional funds would be debited from my account unless I consented to reactivating my membership in the future. I recently found out that in July 2021, my membership was reactivated and the company began auto-debiting monthly payments from my bank account. By the time I noticed the charges on my statements, they had collected $566.79 in monthly charges from my account without my permission. I have attempted to resolve this with the company, and they stated that they sent out a mailed notice because they did not have my email address on file when they reactivated my membership. During the period in question, I moved residences and never received the mailed correspondence. I did not update my mailing address with the company, as my account had been indefinitely closed, and did not think that I would be receiving anything else from them. The company states that they never had an email address from me on file, but this is false. I have re-forwarded them an email from the company confirming my account suspension in 2020, as evidence that they had my email address in the past. I also asked multiple times during the period of my membership for the company to update my email address in their records, which it seems they failed to do. I spoke with a club manager in March 2023, who stated that I was owed a refund, but that I needed to go through the corporate office for it. The corporate office is refusing to refund the money that was unfairly charged on the basis that they did not have my email address, which I have proven to be false. They are refusing to elevate my concern to a higher level. The club manager that I spoke to in March has now left the company and is unable to further advocate for me.

I was a member at Onelife Fitness gym. I moved to Florida  where there are no locations. So I bring a copy of my lease into a gym and I was told the only way to cancel was to fill out a form through the app. I did that multiple times and never had someone get in contact with me. I called a number online I found and never got through. Called the gym again just to be told the same thing. I just got charged again after trying to cancel for over a month.
