Been a member since 2013. Wonderful company with great rates on CDs and amazing customer service. Had an issue with my debit card, fraudulent transactions, and card was immediately blocked. New card rushed at no additional cost. Feel valued and secured with my membership.Northwest Federal Credit Union Response

Long time CU member since 2015. Decided to give them my business with a Home Equity Loan. I have an 805 credit, 70% LTV and 32% DTI and its secured by RE! Over the course of 5 days, they requested 24 different documents totaling 124 pages! I was eventually turned down by ****** for too many inquiries and lack of adequate reserves. I had one (1) other inquiry from my primary mortgage company from a few days prior. If I had lots of reserves, I certainly would not take out a loan at 8%. Get real, these are not valid reasons for a turn down. Remember, this was a RE secured loan to consolidate some CC, not brain surgery. I was a mortgage loan officer for 7 years and know the process. They fumbled the ball on this one. The next day I went back to my first Mortgage holder who did the initial inquiry and they approved me immediately and for the same rate and more money! The process was so easy in comparison. I then looked up reviews on them being a bit confused at their failure and all three sites I checked ranked them a 1.3 to 2 star rating, I was floored! They used to be reputable lenders. Even the BBB rates them 1.3 stars. Being from the mortgage industry my loan was a slam dunk and easy. They have no clue how to approve a loan. I really dodged a bullet here so in the end I'm happy I'm not with them for the long haul. I'll be closing out my other 2 accounts with them and moving my business to a lender who is not a 1.3 star business. NWFCU has lost its way and is no longer the business they once were years ago. My review: stay clear of this terrible business. Its unanimous from all the comments below as well so you know I'm not the problem here. They won't survive long with this level of customer service. If I could give them a 0 star I would. Beware and don't waste your time trying to give them your business like I did!!! They will waste your time and laugh as you jump though their hoops They make you feel dirty and worthless when you are in fact a great customer.Northwest Federal Credit Union Response

let me start by saying I have been with this credit union for 9 years now ,,,which to them your just a number....I had a auto loan and credit card with them...thought I mattered in some kinda way,,,anyway I became late with a credit card payment back in July 26,2020 , and paid it on Aug 5, 2020..the late fee , my regular pmt...so in August 2020 they reported my late payment as 30 days late into the bureaus...so I lived with that until NOW !!! which is 2024 ....I am going thru my credit reports to make sure things are correct on reports as I am taking a heloc on home,,,so I come across a serious delinquency on report...so I go to look at the ***** entry and it says 30 days past due , but says it paid which it is...so I am like I didn't pay this this late ,,,mind you its been on here for 4 yrs now...so I called and the loss midigation person tells me once it gets reported the credit bureaus adjust it how they want ,,I am like really !!!so the short of the story is ..a past due on retail credit cards has to reach 30 days before it can be entered in the bureaus !!! not 10 days !!! so I call them back today , and the person I spoke too says she will have someone call me back... what a joke this credit union is,,,,,be careful with them !!!!Northwest Federal Credit Union Response

My Review for this Credit Union is "0". By this means I want to express to you that I don't recommend this Credit Union to have checking or savings accounts as well as any type of loan and I do not especially recommend speaking with Mr. Robert Santos who is a person without any education who cuts off the call abruptly, who always kept me deceived as well as my realtor on my loan application, saying that everything was going well and in the end asking me to give more down payment and cancel any debt I had so that they would approve the loan, this man along with his Credit Union wanted to dictate to me what I have to do with my money. What a shame that this institution has people like Mr. Robert Santos working in its loan department.Northwest Federal Credit Union Response

Will be sure to never use NWFCU in the future. Customer service is terrible and the way they do business is horrible. I have been trying to payoff the balance on a loan due to the death of a family member and they are unwilling to remove a late fee that was placed on the account due to the delay in recieving the death certificate. I can see why they have such terrible reviews across all platforms.Northwest Federal Credit Union Response

I would recommend you do not get a loan here. They are dishonest and put lies in their messages, saying they call you back when they do not. I worked with them to try and find out what an issue was for a few months, while they were calling me and threatening to send me to collections over $12. They charged me late fees and won't overturn them because they say they returned a call and left a message, which they never did. This company is dishonest and I will not ever trust them, nor would I recommend them to any of my friends or family.
