I took my car in on October ******* to get my car completely painted. It was completed and ready on November 1st. It was late when I picked my car and by the time I got home the shop was closed. The next morning I noticed the mudguards had red paint on them, a paint drip on the hood, and to me the bumper looked like the paint had not taken and it was peeling. So, I took my car back and was told that the bumper required body work and that would be an extra cost. ***** told me that they could fix the paint drip and that the technician should have taped my mudguards. I got an estimate for the bumper and was scheduled to take it in on Nov.25th. I was told that my car would be ready by Wednesday evening. I spoke to ***** Wednesday morning and was told it would ready on Friday. ******* call later and said I could pick my car up between 2:30 and 5:00. When I got there my car had dust all over the hood, several more paint drips, and red paint on the white pinstripe. I would not take my car and was told I could pick it up the Friday after Thanksgiving. It wasnt ready on Friday because no one showed up for work. My car wasnt ready until late Wednesday afternoon. I questioned the body work on the bumper and was told that was the best that they could do. My license plate, plate holder and frame was lost. I asked them NOT to paint my mudguards and they did. And, black paint in on my red car. The manager told me to go to *** and order new plates and he would reimburse me. I had to get plates, plate holder and my AKA frame. Totally unprofessional and poor service. I was inconvenienced for nine days and that wasnt taken into consideration.Customer response

Unfortunately, I have not been contacted by Maaco. I have reached out to the manager several times because one of associates told me to replace my license plate, holder and frame and I would be reimbursed. Every time I call, the manager is never there or at least thats what I am told. I still need to have the black paint on my car and after having my car washed, there are paint drips still there.Initial Complaint

I had my truck hood and roof painted last week. When I went to pick it up they had painted over rock chips I asked 5 times and was told would repair. The Owner told me my truck would be ready Friday knowing it wouldnt and left me without a vehicle or phone call I had to go there. After repainting the truck I got to inspect it and its the worst job Ive ever seen. I dont feel comfortable with them even fixing it at this point as they have tried twice and was an easy job. This has caused the worst consumer experience Ive ever encountered. I want a refund or someone else to repair it. These people say We are not corporate we are privately owned and think they can get away with ripping people off. The owner lied to me 3 times I want no dealings with him or his business but want this corrected. There are unsanded spots on the roof that will last about a year and at least 7 spots they totally missed. Not to mention they disrespectfully got dust all over my truck sanding because they were upset someone called them out for terrible work. I want some refund or pay for a reliable company to fix it. Horrible for customers that dont know better!! Must be stopped.Business response

He denied his credit card claim so we've never been paid. He owes us $800. He's a thief and I'll be calling the police. He's a thief and a liar.Customer response

He never processed the money. It's a debit transaction which was pre-authorized. I didn't put a stop payment on it - that's not even allowed. He can go right now and get that money. I've sent the receipt and proof to corporate. The paint job is literally falling off the truck. It gets worse by the day. I'm still looking for a resolution from the business.Business response

The customer processed a credit card transaction with our facility on 6/3/2024 and took his keys and his vehicle. He then went on to complain about the job to social media and various websites along with the BBB. After about a week we were made aware by our bookkeeper that this transaction never went through our bank, meaning the customer never paid and left our premises without paying for a service. Regardless of his satisfaction, work was performed and the customer fraudulently purported to have paid. In our eyes and the eyes of the law, this is theft. We will not entertain any redo work until the customer pays in full with either cash or a cashier's check. In the meantime, we have forwarded this information to our attorney and have alerted the Henrico County Civil Court clerk's office of this matter.Customer response

I am responding to my complaint filed. This man lied repeatedly and didnt offer any reasonable resolution. I am very inhappy as a consumer and the work performed was horrible. The payment was on a debit card not a credit card and my bank says it is still a pre authorized transaction and owner could take the money at any time. I have receipts and also bank papers where the money was taken and put back the same day. I will pay the bill again with a cashiers check this evening because I simply dont have time to deal with such a shady owner and want him to go away. I should at least received touch up paint as the roof has spots not painted. If the owner was halfway reasonable he should mail me some. The bill will be paid today for an unsatisfactory job.

I just dropped the payment off in a cashiers check. Very unhappy with the work and the response to a horrible job. My vehicle was left worse than when I took it in and I have to pay someone else to fix it right. The lady at his location was rude again and refused to give me a receipt saying I already had one? The ONE I ALREADY PAID that I had in my hand . They have there money and my bank said they would look out that they dont try to take it again. Very dissatisfied and disappointed. Filed a complaint and owner pulled a lie about payment and complaint is on file but case was closed. Paid them again and have spoken to *************************, and two other workers who are ignoring my calls now. My paint job was done June1st and getting more problems by the day. The whole paint job is chipping, hazy, has trash in paint, and painted over clear coat I paid to have sanded. Paint doesnt even match and ready to sell my vehicle I lived. They damaged other spots on my truck with a sander that cant be dented. I dont trust them to even repair my vehicle after all the dirty things Im noticing by the day. I went to a professional paint shop that said everything about the work was wrong they didnt know where to start. *** left too many messages and gave up on how they want to take care of my warranties paint job. I want my money back or them to have another business paint it properly.Business response

I am unsure where to start with this complaint. I will say the customer finally paid for his vehicle, so that has been cleared up. With regards to all of the criticism of the work done to the vehicle, I am happy to take a look at what he is referring to as the pictures do not show me what/where the problems are based on the minor work we performed. I am generally at this location Monday after 12pm, Tuesday mornings and Wednesday afternoons if he would like to stop by and have me take a look.

******* keeps lying about the payment his worker botched most likely intentionally . She ran it as credit and was able to take it anytime and I have bank verification of the transaction. I attached a receipt with complaint. She also fails to get me to sign where I ACCEPTED the work. I dont trust his shop touching my truck at this point. He tried to fix it once and it came out worse. My vehicle received the worst paint job that I paid what a professional shop would charge for a mismatch colored , paint missing, about 50 clear coat bubbles on roof. His reviews on ****** say it all. I dont want him touching my vehicle after some of the comments he made in beginning about lucky to get vehicle back and reading where reviews said he had there vehicles for many months. Maaco will never be allowed to work on my truck. The owner cant be trusted as he has lied to me several times already.Initial Complaint

Car paint and replace front bumper. The job was poor. Over paint, and looked that sanding, surface reconditioning was not done. Light chip and scratch repair not done.
