Chris Leslie is legendary in my neighborhood of Providence Hill in Lexington, VA. He is known as the guy who does top notch excellent work, at a reasonable cost. Recently Leslie Excavating did a five figure job at my house that involved land clearing, asphalt and concrete removal, soil grading, and installation of a gravel drive. I found his work to be top notch, and my job was not easy. The grade on my driveway is a very gentle slope to the yard and road, and without perfect grading expertise, it would have been a failure. You should know that Leslie's excellence and price means you will need to wait in line for the job to be done. If you have some kind of insane rush job, you may want to pick someone else, or offer above-market money, because Leslie is busy, and you just need to wait your turn. It is worth the wait, though.

Leslie Mini Excavating, Lexington, VA. I could not recommend Leslie Mini Excavating more highly. They are an outstanding organization, well-known in the area for their excellent work. Leslie Mini-Excavating is helping with our new home construction by providing the following services: digging Foundation; excavating for and emplacing Septic Tank and Field; completing Rough and Final Grade; burying Power, Water, Propane lines; planting Trees, Bushes, and Grass. We could not be happier with the projects that have been completed. As the saying goes, “An organization reflects the personality of the boss.” This could not be more true than in the case of Leslie Mini Excavating. Chris Leslie has built an outstanding organization. He is very friendly and exceptionally easy to work with. In fact, all of Leslie’s employees are professional, experienced, helpful, friendly, and hard-working. Of particular note is Derek ******, Chris’s brother. Like Chris, Derek is extremely professional and friendly. In addition, Derek is an absolute magician with all the wide variety of equipment that Leslie Mini Excavating brings to the job. Leslie Mini Excavating is the right company for almost any excavation or landscaping job, large and small.

When we were new to the Rockbridge Baths area, Chris was one of the first people we met. He trenched 600ft+ so we could move power lines and remove 78 trees from our property. We have other projects in the works, including but not limited to eliminating a pond, grading, and drainage system. We will also be working on a patio soon. We’ve been pleased with the work and the price of these projects. What I learned about working with Chris is he sticks to the price he quoted, and his prices are fair. The only downside is that he is in high demand, which means you need to wait a bit; however, I would argue that this is not a significant problem (unless your roof is leaking). We’ve talked to many contractors in the area and out of the area, and all of the reasonably priced ones have a backlog of work. Unless you are willing to give your life savings away to the likes of ***** ************, I’d advise learning to be a little patient. I've also done a lot of work with contactors over the years and there us a common paradox between Quality, Affordability, and Speed. The reality is you can’t get all three so instead, settle on the two you value most, quality and price. Once you are on the schedule your job will be completed very quickly. Eg. The trees were removed in a couple days. Chris will always let you know when his team will arrive to get the work done. I personally like text messages since the signal in the mountains is iffy. He has called or texted me late into the night so communication has never been a problem. Thanks for all the work you guys have done and I look forward to the other jobs we have up and coming.
