On Sept 4, 2024, the contractor entered into an agreement to cut down a tree and haul away the wood. The contractor began the work on 9/5. Midway in the afternoon the top part of the tree hit the ground hitting a beehive causing the worker to be stung several times. The worker could not complete the job without further injury so the owner - ****** ****** agreed to comeback later that evening to address the beehive and complete the work- finish cutting the tree down to the ***** and removing the tree log from the property. ****** requested that I pay the balance- $1600 because the injured employee would miss several days of work and he wanted to pay him. Against my better judgement and feeling sympathetic for the injured worker, I paid the balance. ****** returned that evening and attempted to address the bee issue but said it was too dark he would return in a few days. He never returned. From 9/6 - 11/13, I called him a total of 15 times and sent several texts messages. He ignored many of my calls and when he did answer he gave multiple excuses or made promises to come and never came. He told me if I hired a pest control person, he would come sooner. I did and sent him a copy of the receipt. He said he would come the following week, never came. He contacted me a week later and said he had COVID. Finally, on 11/15, I hired another contractor to complete the job at a cost of $450. I am seeking reimbursement for the cost to complete the job.
