02/14/2023 car was towed to location I told them my transmission was slipping and the rpms where running too high , and I had a leak of transmission fluid . 02/17/2023 got car back after a payment of 968 dollars , transmission was still slipping and check engine light was still on 03/05/2023 transmission leaks again I take a video and try to get it fixed at another aamco in ********** battlefield location technician ******************************* tells me from the age of the car and the fact that the transmission was slipping its common knowledge amongst auto mechanics that only a complete rebuild of the transmission would fix the problem for good and that all the work was basically a ban aid and it would just happen again. Even writes note on invoice and highlights areas on invoice. I call warrenton aamco location that did the work and ********************* says they nv touched my transmission even though code p0705 is a transmission code and code p0706 is a transmission code. Also due to my car breaking down and again leaking transmission fluid I missed days of work and might lose my job completely they refused to compensate me, even though it's clear that the work wasn't effective and codes that came up in the dienostics where neglected .

BBB response to Case # ********

In response to *********************** complaint for work performed under Invoice #****** AAMCO of ********* was presented with a **** Saturn SL that the owner was complaining about the car not being able to move.  The Saturn was towed into the AAMCO and we visually inspected the potential causes of the problem. The transmission was completely dry of lubricant. It was noticed that oil had been leaking from the filter and the filter seal that provides for transmission lubrication. The filter was replaced, and the transmission was filled with the correct fluid. We performed a road test and reinspected the source of the leak. During the road test a number of drivability issues were presented and we made the owner aware of the issues and what had to be repaired for the car to be driven. Those items were a replacement for the water pump and replaced a leaking valve cover gasket. Also noticed during the road test was a serpentine belt tensioner that would need to be replaced in the future but it was not critical to making the car drivable at that time.

The owner picked up the car on February 17th and once again ran into drivability problems on March 5th.  The mileage for the car was ****** at the time of service and then ****** that means he drove the car for 977 miles after the initial service from ********* AAMCO.  Although it was not required AAMCO of ********* paid for the tow charge to the local AAMCO in ********** ** for an additional diagnosis.  At that time, it was determined that the transmission fluid had again leaked out of the equipment and needed to be refilled and an additional filter replaced.  AAMCO of ********* agreed to cover the charges for that additional work and the tow bill to get the car to the local shop.  AAMCO of ********* warrantied all the work performed on the automobile that was performed at the ********* location. The fact that the car was driven for almost ***** miles before any additional incident indicates that the fluid leak was a slight issue and not a catastrophic problem with the drivability of the car. The car was not leaking when it left the ********* shop on the 17th

No other responsibility or liability resides with AAMCO of ********* for the work performed.  The car passed the road test and visual inspection post service. It would have been negligent for AAMCO of ********* to propose a new transmission when the transmission was operational and functioning at the time of the road test. The fact of the mileage of the car when it ran out of fluid at ******* proves that the car was operating according to standards when it left the shop on February 17th.  AAMCO of ********* continues to warrant the additional work performed at the ********* location including the water pump and valve cover gasket.

    Best Regards,
