5.5.23 I went to scissor masters to get a first time ever lash extension. ($75 and $10 for obligatory tip ) I was told I had to keep my eyes open the whole time and had to hold this small malfunctioning fan above my eyes. My eyes were stinging and watering- I asked if I could close them for the procedure and she said no- and that this was all normal. Being new to this I had no clue until after I called many other places that no one should EVER have their eyes open and that I shouldnt feel uncomfortable or irritated during - nor see or feel glue after -which today I am feeling the sharp glue spots which are black and clumpy- I called the shop after the experience to ask about how they do it and was told it was the way it was always done and I -being shy and wanting to avoid conflict-said ok just checking - but today I am going to get them taken off somewhere else because everyone has informed me they were in no way done correctly and that I shouldnt be feeling pain at all during or after - I called scissor masters again and asked for a refund because they infact were not put on correctly and the owner **** told me that the other lady ******* who put them on doesnt work for her (which is strange because I paid with a gift certificate I received for Xmas for her shop - so I dont understand how she isnt at least somewhat responsible) she said I couldnt have a refund and hung up on me. I called back and said please dont hang up on me Im trying to figure out a solution and she said if ever called back she would call the police on me. So now I dont know what to do because I feel they are doing a dangerous and not to code procedure that could blind someone and when I tried to complain or get a refund I was hung up on and threatened with the fear of law enforcement- I dont understand as a paying customer how I need to feel scared to speak up and now I cant even call to talk to the woman who actually did the lashes because I dont want legal action against me!

    Customer response

    05/16/2023

I have not heard from the business in response to my complaint. Considering that I was rudely disregarded and threatened to have the police called should I try to resolve the matter by calling them - I assume I will never hear from the business. The more I talk to people in town - the more I learn that this is a systemic issue with scissor masters. I have heard that **** -the owner- has called the cops and gone completely psycho on multiple customers and employees as a means of scaring them away from being able to address their concerns over poor customer service and reoccurring incompetence. I am not sure what I should do next but I have also researched how eyelashes are applied and NO ONE does them with the clients eyes open , in fact it is an industry wide well known fact that this is a dangerous and incorrect practice. I want people to know that they are in danger if they plan to go to scissor masters for this procedure- as well as apt to be wasting their money on any of their services given the horror stories I have been hearing from customers and local industry insiders! I doubt they are even licensed to do this procedure given that they dont even know how it is properly performed. I would still like a refund and I would suggest no one enter this establishment due to unsafe practices and terrible customer service.
