I purchased my 3rd Verilux floor lamp in 2018 - I was told when I purchased it that it had been redesigned so that the ballast could be replaced by the user (if changing the bulb won't fix it, it's almost ALWAYS the ballast/starter that is defective) - I've been ordering replacement bulbs from Amazon for all 3 of the Verilux floor lamps that I've owned over a long period of time...maybe twenty, but probably way more, years - I'm old and disabled...can't judge passed time as well anymore - been going through many bulbs much quicker lately - customer service rep. told me today that bulbs in the new design weren't meant to be replaced...just buy a new lamp when bulbs need to be replaced - (this wasn't, nor has ever been, told or explained to me until today) - they also told me that bulbs sold by Amazon wouldn't work with their newer lamps...replacement lamp had to be ordered from Verilux directly - that is a major conflict with his previous statement of having to buy new lamps from Verilux when the initial bulb burnt out - do you HAVE to buy a new lamp every time the bulb ***** out, or can you replace the bulb if you only buy it from Verilux? - be honest Verilux...tell people the actual deal up front

Thank you bringing this to our attention. ************************ contact us over the phone regarding his lamp. The Original Floor Lamp that ************************ contact us about, model VF01, used a CFML27VLX fluorescent bulb that was replaceable and sold by Verilux directly or through retailers. It had been redesigned to have a replaceable ballast, but the lamp itself was discontinued in 2014. Unfortunately we don't know the overall quality or guaranteed the life of the bulbs purchased from Amazon or the company that manufactures them.
We released a new lamp, the SmartLight LED Modern Floor Lamp, model number VF09, which uses a long-life LED bulb that is rated for ****** hours, and features adjustable brightness and color temperature, which are upgrades to our older version of this lamp, The Original Floor Lamp, model number VF01. The bulb is not replaceable, but as stated, it has a very long-life expectancy.
All our products have specific details on parts and other important details. We offer a 1 year limited warranty and we are available for support as needed.
