In August of 2020 *********************** of Midtown Chimney sweeps was paid for install of a flue system for our downstairs fireplace. He had to come back several times to fix his work as it never worked correctly/broke. In late 2022, we were still having issues along with the flue cap he installed originally broke loose and blew away in the wind. Upon this visit, ****** broke our handle to the flue cap pull chain (that we paid for in 2020 with Midtown) attempting to get the flue cap closed. Since January of 2023 we have been unable to use the fireplace as there is no handle for the flue cap, and the cap still does not close fully. ****** wanted to overcharge for a new handle along with a service call. he took the original handle/parts with him at this time . (It is worth noting, that the chain broke, but unlikely the handle itself did. I cannot verify this, as the handle was taken without my consent.) For 9 months I have sent emails, voicemails and text messages trying to resolve this. I have received no answer to any of my inquiries during this time. I recently scheduled a phone consultation that I received a text confirmation for the appointment which was to be September 12, 2023. I received no call. I called Midtown and once I selected option 1, it stated the number was no longer in service. I called a different state location and the same thing happened. I then called the **************** number with my wifes phone and she was able to get through. I was informed by a lady at Midtown (that would not give her name), that ****** has my account flagged and they can give me no information. She stated I needed to speak to ******. I informed I cannot reach him for 9 months. She gave no further solution. I am requesting a refund for any work/parts related to the non-functioning flue **********, handle etc.
