In 2021 I was in great need of a new vehicle. I started to look in my surrounding areas for specifically a jeep. I would do my research and look at dealerships in my area or in ****************. I then came across truck town in ********* **, and they had a jeep wrangler white 2011. The jeep came with 92k miles already and priced at ******. I did believed it was a over priced but the owner assure me that that jeep was in excellent shape with NO problems and that they would NOT lower the jeeps price due to the quality. They were quick to engage me in opportunity and told me I'd get approve quickly. This interaction was all done via phone call due to the distance from Tri-cites to the ******* area which is 4hrs. At this point I had provided them with my personal information such as income, SS# for the loan. A week or so they called me telling me I got approved for the jeep for 24, 500 through ******************** They told me I had to pay them $100 so they wouldn't sell it to someone else and it was saved for me to go pick it up . Once everything was said and done I purchased the Jeep Wrangler 2011, from truck town in September 19 2021. I drove up there drove it and everything seemed to go smoothly. They assured me that the jeep was in perfect condition and that they have done all expectation necessary to make sure their is NO issues. Then I went in and made my down payment of *****. They did offer me to get warranty but I decided not to just yet because my payment was very high if I did. I also believed I wouldn't have and issues anytime soon so I waited. However, just 4-5 months later after purchase the motor went out completely! I took it to Lithia, jeep for service in my town and service man Zac said I needed a whole new motor costing me 9,323K. I was lost in words. I called Truck Town and they blew me off and said there's nothing they can do to help me. I feel robbed and angry. I can not afford to pay 9k; truck town needs to pay for this motor! or refund me 9k.

    Business response

    04/01/2022

*************************, I will again state that the events of which that have taken place with your Jeep are quite unfortunate.  As I responded previously to your ****** review of our dealership, I understand your disappointment.  While I understand you are disappointed, I also reminded you that you were offered protection from events such as this through a vehicle service contract, which you declined at the time of sale.  I believe it is a unreasonable expectation that 5 months after the sale of a vehicle you would infer that we should have known something was going to become an issue.  I believe that vehicle service contracts, which are offered at the time of sale are invaluable when things like this happen.  ***** times customers do not see the value of purchasing in essence insurance against possible future failures and unfortunately circumstances like these happen at an extreme cost to the consumer.  I also responded to your ****** review by explaining that all new car manufacturers provide a warranty on new vehicles because even new cars can fail.  I have provided three documents above that you signed at the time of purchase acknowledging that you understood that the vehicle had "No Warranty" unless you chose to purchase one.  I am greatly bothered that your buying experience at Truck Town went from one which you were initially satisfied with, to one which you are not.  Please accept my sympathy for your situation.
