6/13/24 I received a quote from *** *****, owner of Big Wave Marine LLC, to remove, rebuild, and reinstall the motor of my boat. *** told me the work would take 2 to 3 weeks and the motor rebuild includes a 1 year ************* warranty.6/18/24 I hired Big Wave Marine to perform my motor repair. They required $3,950 down to begin (approximately 50%). I made the down downpayment to *** via cashiers check. He told me a mechanic would come to my house on 6/19/24 to disconnect the motor from the boat so it can be removed by crane the following day.6/19/24 The Big Wave mechanic arrive as planned and disconnected the motor. I was told the crane would arrive the next day to remove the motor and take it to a separate machine shop to be rebuilt.6/20/24 The crane arrived at 4pm as planned. The mechanic from Big Wave was there to oversee the motor removal. The crane then took the motor to Big Waves rebuild mechanic, ******* ****** (aka DJ).7/12/24 I contacted *** for an update. I was told the motor would be back next week sometime.7/18/24 I again checked-in with ***. This time he gave me the excuse that ******** wife had passed away so the repair was going to take a bit longer than planned. I later learned from ******* that his wife did pass away in April.7/29/24 Checked in with *** again. He told me the motor was next in line with ******* and it would be done end of week.8/2/24 to Present Checked-in with *** several times and received a new excuse each time. I learned during this time that other customers of ********************** were currently being defrauded in a similar manner. I contacted ******* ****** directly who told me he had not been paid anything by Big Wave to date, therefore my motor was not complete. I then asked *** separately if he had paid *******. *** responded that he did pay ******* using my down payment, the motor was complete, but it can not be reinstalled until he could find a crane to deliver and install it.

To whom it may concern. We did pull a motor for *** that was cracked due to non winterization. During the summer months it is crucial to get a motor pulled in the spring to guarantee being able to boat in the summer. We use a third party engine builder and he has engines from many different customers. Mine are no more a priority than anyone elses. ******* did request the motor be paid in full for parts and extra and I have paid him $4000 for the motor. We are hopeful the engine will be back in our hands and can be back in Dans boat the end of the first week of September. There has been no fraud done from this company and we strive to make all customers happy. As we service over **************** the sound we also realize that from time to time some may be frustrated. If any documentation is needed please let me know and I would be happy to provide it.

I am rejecting this response because:

Please submit verifiable, documented proof that funds paid to Big Wave Marine, LLC by ****** ******* on 6/18/2024 have been received and used by the 3rd party engine builder to complete work on my engine.  Big Wave Marine. LLC wrote via text message on 8/24/24 that my engine rebuild work had been paid-in-full and rebuild work was complete.  Proof of full payment must be signed by the 3rd party engine builder prior to 8/24/24.

    Sincerely,

    ****** *******
