I hired Sandstone construction back in March to build a small DADU in Seattle, specifically Demo of existing garage, new foundation, framing, siding and roofing. Initially, he told me that the work will be done in 6 weeks including the inspection but in contract he put 3 months. The demo work was quick, but for foundation he took over a month and that's only because I was keep pushing him, and he didn't fully finish the foundation. when digging the foundation, instead of hauling away the dirt, he put most of it in my backyard and raised the earth by one foot and destroyed my sprinkler system. Now comes the framing. the framing should have taken 2 weeks, but it took them 3 months and in those 3 month, he hired 3 different crew and did not pay them. In return, the crew built the whole framing wrong. The height of the floors were 1 foot higher. they cut the beams wrong, installed 2x6s where it need LSLs and many other things. After we found out the they built most of the house wrong, they started to tear apart the whole house. Now, we are back to ground level and most of the lumber was garbage and Blake told me that he ran out of money to fix it and started to cry and told us that his wife is cheating on him, his brother died and so many other excuses, (oh at this point, I have already paid him $55K). My wife felt bad and we end up giving him $10k more. After he got the money he stopped taking my calls and didn't reply to my texts. The guy straight up took my money and left. Last 6 months has been nightmare for us. It is going to cost us $50k extra for new lumber and framer to fix his work and rebuilt, also to fix the yard. All we want is money back for the framing work as he didn't build anything by the city code and removed all of the framing, also part of foundation which was not completed. We paid $30,000.00 for framing and we want $5000 back for foundation and yard work that he damaged. So, total of $35,0000
