This restaurant is fantastic. They use organic and imported ingredient but also support local organizations and is hosting fundraiser for local non-profits, donating 20% of all their sales to them. I wish more business would be like that.

On Sunday, May 12, 2024, at approximately 5:10 pm PDT, I placed an online order at Pizzeria La Gitana Of Olympia located at **************************************************. Part of my order included the following. Please note that the next line was copied and pasted directly from my online receipt (see photo)Chocolate Cake$9.00 Add 1x Goes with coffee+$0.00 Add 1x Chocolate Syrup+$0.00 cream and Splenda on the side - (3 creams 2 Splenda)When I got to the restaurant the waiter, who did not identify himself, told me that he would have to charge for the coffee even though it was listed as included with my dessert (the charge on the receipt says $0). I asked for the manager, who also did not identify herself. The manager told me that I would have to pay for the coffee. I explained that I had a receipt saying it was included with my dessert. She shrugged and said again that she would have to charge me- even after I told her about Washington States consumer protection law. I consider this to be a deceptive business practice and that they would be losing a loyal customer.Additionally, the pizza was cold and burnt. I dont know what happened to this place between today and when I went in there a couple of weeks ago or so. Rude, deceptive, burnt, and cold pizza. They have gone way downhill in record speed. Sad.A full review with updates, photos, my complaint to the ***************************** and the owners response can be found in my ****** Reviews under this restaurant with the last update being 6/8/24 under my name ***************************. I am unable to provide a link here, unfortunately.

    Pizzeria La Gitana Olympia Response

    06/12/2024

Hi ****. In all honesty you are not out customer type for us either. I mean you seem to be cold, rude and impolite. All the emotional drama you are feeding your body with adds to our understanding that some people are happy being unhappy. And that is ok. Thank you for your complain to the ** office too. Here is our reply to them for everyone else to see. We do believe that this all could have been solved if you would have reached out to the restaurant managerial staff:

    "Hi,
Thank you for giving us a chance to respond to this complain. We are aware of the fact the on Mothers Day one of the guests that made an online order got confused with the option Goes with coffee that we have for some the desserts in the restaurant. Notice that is does not say "Comes with coffee".
I would like to present a background of the operations of our restaurant to make it easy to understand why we had that option available and how handy it came in increasing the satisfaction of our guests experience while dining in:
    -  When a customer comes into the restaurant and orders a coffee and a dessert our goal is to make sure they get together to the table at the same time. Since the dessert item belongs to the kitchen and the coffee belongs to the floor, they also print on different printers. It is easy to imagine how the person that runs the food has a problem knowing if he/she must wait for the dessert when they have the coffee to run, or how they must wait for the coffee if the dessert is ready to be taking to the table.
    -  To avoid this problem, we have added the modifier/options for the servers goes with coffee which basically means that when the food runner sees the ticker for the dessert also sees the goes with coffee option and waits for the coffee and takes them both to the tables.
And for 7 years and several thousands of online orders, even throughout the pandemic, nobody was so special to think that a dessert comes with a free coffee. Yet alone to hallucinate that the coffee has a certain number of ounces and to add other imaginary products like cream and sugar replacement in form of Splenda. For what is worth ************** could have continued to imagine several other things. Of course not that maybe the coffee is in 1 oz. ***** cups instead of whatever 8, 12, 16 etc oz. Or in his imagination the coffee would come to him in a heart shape gold plated cup dating back to the Roman ******* and therefore to ask to be reimbursed for those lost valuable artifacts too.
Whatever would be the reason for his limited imagination we surely assume a certain level of fault for this situation and operate from the premise that we can do better. For this reason, we reimbursed him for the value of the Chocolate Cake and taxes paid for it as of today 6.3.2024 and we also changed that option to a more subtle one that we hope for the next 7 years will not create another incident like this one.
We also deeply apologize you had to invest your resources on dealing with this absurd situation. This would not have happened if ************** would have reached out and asked for a refund or called to speak with the restaurant manager about a refund.
While not related to this situation we deeply appreciate the work of the ** office in keeping everyone accountable for their mistakes and errors, here in WA state. And for the record we want to mention that ************** committed perjury by stating that *** restaurant waiter did not identify himself, because everyone on the floor always wears a
name tag where name is made visible. This is what we are using to increase accountability for staff members.
Not a crime to be prosecuted, I am sure of that. But maybe a proof that nobody is perfect, and mistakes are made also by individuals who hallucinate to be more catholic than the ****.
