In June we purchased a 1927 ********* home with a leaky roof. Our insurance company gave us 3 months to repair the roof before we lost coverage. We met with Dynamic Roofing on June 11, signed the contract and submitted our deposit of $14,984.64. We informed them that we had a leak in the roof and about our insurance. They said they would be out on the weekend to tarp off the leak. That never happened. The work was supposed to begin at the end of July or early August. We had other a lot of other work going on so I reached out on July 24th with the hope of coordinating the other work on the house without interfering with the roofing. I finally got a text on August 8th, he said he would call. That never happened. On August 16th I reached out again, to get an estimated start date, they said 2 weeks. September 13th I reached out again. I was told that job would be done by the end of October (almost 3 months late, 5 months after the deposit). We have now lost our homeowners insurance and we have a leaky roof with no tarp. On October 24th I sent another email inquiring about the roof, which was leaking again. They came to the house to discuss their problems. I said as long as you get the roof done we are good. I asked again about getting a tarp over the leak. I was told that they would be back in a couple of days. Didn't get a tarp this time either. With absolutely no work done whatsoever, I finally asked for my money back on Nov. 16th. According to the contract, they have 45 days to return the refund, it is now January 2nd and I have received exactly $0.00, no work, and an uninsured house with a leaky roof.Initial Complaint

March 13th, 23, Dynamic Roofing was paid $3,965.76 through PayPal as a deposit to replace our roof. No work was ever started on our home for this project, nor was a start date for the project ever given. From March 2023 to present, there have been numerous attempts made via text, phone and through the company's website to contact Dynamic Roofing with most of our attempts being ignored. The few times we were able to get a response from Bill, the weather was sited as the reason for the delay in our project getting started. With the weather again starting to get bad and the extreme lack of communication, we decided to move forward with a more reliable company and a refund was requested on Oct. 25th, 23, after 7 months struggling to get ahold of anyone and still no confirmed start date. **** called us on Oct. 25th, 23 after the refund was requested and agreed to return our refund. We were told it would take up to 45 days to receive our refund. By Dec. 14th, we still had not received our refund and attempted to contact the company. We attempted again on Dec. 19th & Jan. 3rd to no avail. All attempts were ignored. Finally, on Jan. 10th, we received a text from **** stating that he had $4000 in cash that he could hand us if we would handwrite a receipt to him. This was extremely unusual to us for a business to handle the return of a refund in this manner and we let them know we were not comfortable accepting cash for our refund. We requested that they get a cashier's check from the bank in the amount of $3965.76, at which time the bank would provide them a receipt or refund the money through PayPal. They agreed to the cashier's check as the form of payment for returning the refund. We have tried to contact them on 4 different occasions since Jan. 10th, asking about their intentions to follow through with the refund and keep getting excuses. We would like the money refunded, as agreed upon so we may be done with this company and this horrible experience, once and for all.Customer response

Within hours of submitting our complaint to the BBB website, we received a call from Bill at Dynamic Roofing and a check for the full amount of our refund was dropped off at our home the same day our complaint was filed. The business check has cleared our bank and we are happy to report that we can now finally move on from this horrible experience with Dynamic Roofing. Thank you!Initial Complaint

I had my roof replaced in June 2022. I have continuously asked for the final bill and warranty information for my documentation in order to sell my home in the future. The initial response was that he did not know that I was within city limits and did not file a permit. He said he would do that and then provide me a receipt. Over the last year I have e-mail, call and texted him with no response. I would like to have this work documented so that I can get credit for it on a future appraisal.Initial Complaint

We hired Dynamic Roofing to fix our roof due to leaks. ************* and ************************* told us they needed the rest of the payment for materials. I paid the rest on 09/28/22 in the amount of $2,992.00 dollars. I have the records to show the payment was made. Since that time, they have not returned to finish the job. I have reached out to the on several occasions asking when they are going to finish our roof which is open to the elements with only a tarp protecting the exposed boards. They have not returned our calls. When we asked for a refund ************* called ** yelling and screaming at ** over the phone when they even offered to refund the amount. They are not returning our calls for a refund and have completed the work on the roof. The tarp has been on our roof leaking for approximately 6 months. **** claimed to have been coming in to check the tarp but all the boards have been soaked in water and were not protected. I have spent an additional $3,600 in additional costs by hiring a different roofing contractor who indicated that the work that **** completed was not to standards. I have attached photos of the boards and tarp that were placed on the roof that did not protect the wood underneath and as a result, mold was able to form.Business response

We were hired on to re-roof *********************** and ******************************* home in the spring of 2022. They had claimed upon initial contact that there were leaks all over as well as mold in their attic. Due to other roofing contractor being too costly for them, we had ensured them that we would give them a low cost to cover materials (such as shingles and CDX) with minimal profit from labor on our end. We had explained to them they had pre-existing mold underneath the far side of their home as well as rot due to the previous contractor's faulty nail patterns causing leakage and in return causing rot and mold within their attic. The entire far side would have to be removed and replaced with new CDX. This would mean that we would need a good span of clear weather when opening up their home and exposing their house to the elements.
Due to the rain spanning until July, we were tremendously delayed with all of our clients' roofing projects. We did, however, keep continuous contact with both *** and ***** about starting their roof. When the time came to start their roof project, we were able to allot a specific time frame to tear-off their roof and re-roof, so we could move on to other clients. Therefore, we had started the tear-off process October 2. We had torn off all pre-existing shingles and had planned to come back the following day to tear off all of the existing rotten and moldy CDX on the other side and install new CDX then water-tight it with underlayment. That evening, I was informed by *************************** she was in labor and since she was having a homebirth would need that following day in peace. We moved on to other projects within that time frame. However, we insisted we needed to come back to water-tight the home a few days later due to upcoming rain. We placed a tarp on the other side where the CDX was to be torn off. The following months was very poor forecast; however, we were able to deliver material and finish the side that did not require CDX replacement. We had been waiting for a good stretch of weather to finish the other side safely without flooding their house. During this entire time, it was never brought to our attention that there was a supposed leak, as stated by ***, from the tarped area. If there had been, we would have addressed this immediately. The wood was already damaged and deteriorated from leakage before we had even started the roof. I strongly believe that the tarp prevented any further damage to the pre-existing rot ***************/
We did ensure constant contact with these clients as they have stated we did not. All winter, early spring of 2023 was heavy in rainfall and snow. We had continuously let them know that we were waiting for a stretch of clear weather. On April 6th, through from messages I received on ******** Messenger, ***** was visibly upset with waiting. I asked her if she would like a partial refund for the work owed. She responded that they wanted the work finished. **** did call *****, trying to get ahold of ***, and she screamed at him over the phone using profane language. It was then that they requested a refund for $2,500. However, over the phone *** agreed to wait until good weather for ** to finish their roof. It wasn't long afterwards until we had found out they had hired another roofing contractor to finish the one side of their house without writing a written notice to revoke the contract/request a refund.
I am still willing to refund them on the condition that I receive a written notice via mail. I will return their refund within 30 days of receiving the written notice.

We hired Dynamic Roofing to fix our roof due to leaks in the spring of 2022. The business is under ************************* license ID DYNAMR****** and ************* performed the work. I made the first payment on 01/28/22 in the amount of $3,536.00 dollars (transaction ID ******************. It wasnt until August (7 months later) that they called us wanting the second half to complete the roof. After calling them several times during this time they would not give us a clear date when they would start the work on our roof.
Later ************* told informed me during a phone conversation they would need the rest of the payment for materials before they would complete the roof. I paid the rest on 10/28/22 in the amount of $2,992.00 dollars (transaction ID ***********************************. I have the records to show the payment was made through PayPal.
After several months of waiting for them to start on our roof once I made the second payment, they arrived at our residence. The work was started by ***** **** when he tore off the shingles on that weekend and shingled the front half of the roof. The front half of the roof had inconstant nail patterns and shingles that were not laid down properly. ************* placed a tarp down on the back portion of the roof that had mold underneath on the exposed CDX. They indicated they would only need one working day and would come back to complete the rest of the work. Also, after tearing off the shingles, they left a pile of shingles in our yard that crushed several of our plants and left ***** nails on the ground and failed to clean up in a timely manner.
During this time ***** my sister informed ************************* prior to this she would have a home birth. ***** informed ****** she would only need the following day for no work. Within that time frame, they never returned and claimed to have moved on to other projects leaving our roof exposed to the rain for 6 months with a leaking tarp. We attempted to reach out several times to have them fix the tarp but they never would respond. During this time frame, they stopped answering our calls altogether. ***** messaged ****** several days after asking when they will be returning to complete the roof. The weather was clear enough for several weeks but ****** and **** told us they were on other jobs. They failed to complete the job and abandoned the project.
Since that time, they have not returned to finish they have failed to complete their contracted duties in a timely manner. I have reached out to them on several occasions asking when they are going to finish our roof which is open to the elements. The roof was covered with only a tarp protecting the exposed CDX boards. ****** and **** did not keep in constant contact in this time frame with us and had numerous opportunities when weather permitted to complete the roof.
Later after waiting 6 months with a leaking tarp and water getting into the attic, we asked for a refund. Due to the health and safety risk having the roof exposed to the elements was creating and a risk to our home from water damage. Bill **** called us yelling and screaming at us over the phone using profane language. At the same time, we contacted ****** prior and she stated over the phone she would be willing to refund the amount of work not completed. Since this time, they are not returning our calls for a refund and have not completed the work on the roof. The tarp was on our roof leaking for approximately 6 months. We made them aware; however, it was never addressed. ************* and ************************* claimed to have been coming to check the tarp but all the boards have been soaked in water and were not protected. When I inspected the ******** was not secure. I have spent an additional $3,600.00 in additional costs by hiring a different roofing contractor who indicated that the work that ************* completed was not to standards and had faulty nail patterns. The tarp that was placed was not watertight exposing the CDX to rain creating more mold to grow. I have attached photos of the boards and tarp that were placed on the roof that did not protect the wood underneath. Let it be noted when I informed ****** and **** of this, they did not immediately make any attempt to fix the leaking tarp.
I contacted ************************* and she agreed to a refund with written notice after I made a complaint on the Better Business Bureau (BBB) complaint reference number #********. ****** wrote back after submitting the complaint they would refund the amount we agreed upon. I wrote a letter on 5/16/23 requesting a refund for work not completed. I mailed the letter to their PO Box #**** ************ ** ***** for the return receipt to which they signed for. In the beginning, ****** agreed to a refund in the amount of $2,500.00. Since writing the letter and giving written notice ************* and ************************* have not refunded us the amount. On 7/9/23 I attempted to reach out again at the number ************ and they hung up the phone. On 7/9/23 I created a complaint with Labor and Industries for Dynamic Roofing referral ID ******.Business response
