  I paid $1750 for a standard poodle pup. Her parents have papers, and I would get AKC papers for my pup. Later found out she has no proof of papers for parents on website, she has an embark DNA test (done in 2021). This breeder is number one breeder in WA. Breeder provided a 7-week vet visit before pups went home. Other than a herniated umbilical cord, my pup was in perfect health according to vet and breeder. I took her to my vet for a checkup and he found a genetic dental condition of a narrow bottom pallet where the lower canines dig into the top pallet. In my case, there were already holes in her pallet, plain as day. I contacted my breeder, and she told me she has had this condition in the past and offered to take back the dog. I refused because that wasn't a solution, and I have already bonded with my pup. The breeder also wanted a second opinion from her vet, who was the one who missed it originally. We went and the vet confirmed the condition and recommended the same as mine (extract the teeth). I took some time to decide, and decided to go with my vet since he's the one that caught it. I told breeder and she said she'd pay middle of what her vet estimated ($375). We battled and every time I stood up to her, she threatened to ******** the dog back/ report a false application, so I just took what I could. She wanted a disclaimer but, ultimately, made me write it. In the end, I still had to pay $1,889 for the surgery and the pup might need another with the adult teeth. All in all, her website was deceiving with and AKC and ACA logo cause she failed to prove her dogs had papers or was in association with AKC or ACA, and I didn't receive clear papers for my pup. Once I had a problem, she flipped out and made empty threats to get her way and would ignore or deflect questions she didn't want to answer.
