This week I took my ram 1500 in for a recall part and was left with my truck in a dangerous condition. While it was getting repaired I received an email from the dealer suggesting thousands of dollars worth of repairs including around $250 to diagnose a check engine light. There was no check engine light on when I dropped off the truck. As I drove home from the repair my check engine light came on, I have an OBD2 scanner and read the code PO4DB, crankcase ventilation system disconnected. I messaged the service representative and initially they argued that I already refused the recommended service, I explained how the check engine light wasn't on when I brought it in and then they said I could bring it in for the tech to take a look. I felt suspicious so decided to look for myself. The code was correct, a large hose was left unplugged, there were also two clips left disconnected. I do not know what other issues they might have left deeper in the engine, and I do not trust them to play with my truck anymore. I will pay another mechanic to look for more signs of negligence. The crankcase hose is large and obvious and the whole experience leaves me uncertain if this is incompetence or predatory behavior. There was no check engine light when I started the truck, and the service advisor told me on the phone the tech cleared it when I refused for it to be diagnosed. So the tech left a hose unplugged causing a check engine light, and then used a reader to clear the code? It would be safer to leave the code so a customer knows something is wrong. I'm hoping that by leaving this review the dealer will allow their techs to take enough time and care with recalls to guarantee they aren't damaging vehicles. Also maybe just diagnose a code for free? It could be the tech who messed up.Review from Keith G

On Monday, March 4, 2024, at 10:00 AM, I entered that dealership mentioned above in their mission statement. I took my car to get brake services for pads and specific electrical work for Blind Spot Monitoring. I waited in line for a long time to be acknowledged and assistedall the while, I noticed others were serviced immediately. Finally, I was asked by a staff member if I needed assistance. He (name unknown) told ********** was his 1000 appt. ****, the Service Advisor, completed the check-in. He was unprofessional. Im retired and a Disabled Veteran; I had nothing better to do but play his game and see what I could uncover. My suspicions were correct. I didnt make it about me, per se, and the money paid is not a thing. Renton CDJR didnt perform what was asked of them but instead charged me $356.71 for an evaluation not authorized. I believe **** is a person of low moral character and tried to fraud me out of over ****** dollars for repairs per the assessment report. My 2016 **** was serviced for radiator and brake flushes in January 2024. Tune up (replaced plugs), recall issues, assessment in January 2023, and an oil change in November 2023. They wanted to replace my sensors for over $4100 in fees, including the Blind Spot Monitor (***). However, the sensors were operable and functioning well, and the *** (the issue) was quickly turned off through the computer, ending any electrical issues. Moreover, I signed the invoice under duress, knowing they wouldnt release my car unless I signed it. This complaint of Renton Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram directly addresses unethical behaviors, such as taking advantage of a disabled veteran and discrimination practices. Another customer who wishes they could leave a ZERO star rating. Purchased a used vehicle from them, turns out to be the Finance Manager's personal car he traded in there. Car looked amazing with spotless service records, car did need tires, but we negotiated thru that. I asked for the trade in inspection form and they couldn't produce it. Ended up purchasing the car, immediately took it to an independent service shop to have all the fluids changed so I could get a baseline on my new purchase. This is where things go south. The independent service shop discovers that the previous owner (the Finance manager) or this dealership had been clearing the "service engine" light, clearing the warning light on the dash but not clearing the code in the vehicle's computer. This code happened to indicate that the car's oil pump was failing and needed to be replaced. I decided to pay to have the car fixed, and the sales manager happened to call me that day to see if I was happy with the car I purchased. I shared with him what I had learned, he invited me to stop in (over an hour away) so that I could sit down with him and the General Manager to discuss and resolve. He said that the dealership at least owed me tires as he had already purchased them, and I shared that I had already installed new tires on the car as it was really unsafe to drive, probably should have never been allowed to be sold in the condition it was and he agreed. So I went, the ** was a now show, the sales manager offered me two free oil changes. He disagreed with the diagnosis of the car and refused to cover the tires. I have since turned this over to my attorney to deal with. Do yourself a favor and avoid Renton Jeep Dodge, Chrysler, Ram.Renton Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram Fiat Response

Would give zero stars if I could!! What a shady company. We experienced exactly the same horrible experience that others have posted about. We saw a car and price online that we were interested ********* in, test drive and then sit down to talk numbers. BOOM, the vehicle is NOT even close to the price advertised! Theyve added on over $30k of nonsense. Talk about the classic bait and switch; which is illegal to do. Everyone needs to report them to the US ************************* Weve bought many brand new cars in our life time and this is the first time experiencing this. I know times are tough right now with the economy but thats f-up on how you all are trying to s**** people over. You must have no moral compass to be working there and doing all of this.Review from Patrick K

Zero stars based on my personal experience with the ****************** and management. By far the worst experience I have had on multiple occasions with different people. I highly recommend finding another dealer or service department until such time management actually cares and provides services expected of dealerships.Review from Marquayes W.

This is the worst dealership ever. In 2020 I took my then 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT in for regular maintenance service, I took in for an oil change and other mechanical issues. I received a call letting me know my car was ready, 10 min later I received a call from service advisor explaining to me that my car was not ready and in fact was hit by their car ****** and caused damage to my vehicle. To cover their mess up they quickly got me out of my Jeep and put me into a 2015 Jeep SRT. However while putting my 2016 vehicle in for service for a regular oil change the tech did something because I lost oil and oil pressure etc which caused issues with motor and they had to replace entire motor and other issues. There was also electrical issues with audio system that they said they fixed but did not.In November of 2021 I moved from Washington and had to come back to get my vehicle, I was told everything g was fixed and working properly, and for the most part it was, but shortly after arriving at my destination I started to have an abundance of electrical issues. Since then my car has been in and out of the shop due to major electrical issues. Currently my vehicle is not operational due to a draw in my power. After having vehicle inspected it has been found that my entire wire harness in corroded and has water damage and moisture. I was told the car is a lost.Review from Lynsey M

I am a 23 year old girl who walked into this dealership to potentially lease a vehicle I saw advertised for $44k online. I test drove the vehicle and liked it, but once I sat down to do the paperwork, they told me they could not honor the online price and could only give it to me for $56k. I went through the numbers with them anyway, and they told me my payments would be $1400 A MONTH. Thats a rent payment, and I cannot LIVE out of my car. I then looked at a cheaper vehicle (17k) to maybe buy, and when I sat down to do paperwork for this one, they had included add on fees in the amount of $13k, making the total $30,000. The add on fees they couldnt even explain to me. So, I told them to let me step out and call my dad to see what he thought of these outrageous fees and then told me I am a grown up and needed to do this by myself and demanded I not call him. They made me so uncomfortable the entire time. I purchased from carmax the next day, and had the best experience.Review from Tyler P

Had my vehicle in for an oil change. After getting it back home, checked the oil, black as ever. Contacted the service department who told me that was normal for a diesel. I insisted that they did not change it and they agreed to change it again. After the second time the oil was clear and new. Be careful with these guys.Review from Inam K

On 3/25/2022 I purchased a Camry from this dealership with the sales person called ****, 30 minute later we changed our mind and was asking for our option to return the vehicle when a rude man called ************************* showed up who is supposedly the director of this dealership and asked us to leave the dealership or he will call the Police, I asked him to talk to the General Manager but he refused to do that, I met the world's rudest human beings in this dealership so stay away or you will regret. and yes the sales person **** is a cheater and lair he sold us junk car
