    On 8/4/24 I made an appointment at Fanta African Hair Braiding on their bookly site for a simple service of cornrows. On the site it says $85 I also got my hair washed which the owner told me would be $20. I advised the stylist innumerable times that she was braiding my hair too tightly. She met me with groans and would simply ignore me and start to screaming to the other ladies loudly in her language. Initially the owner told me $125 dollars for the cornrows and wash although that is not what the booking site said. But I agreed because I'm a performer and was leaving the next morning. Then at the end of my service the style was still far too tight and uncomfortable the owner who was rude and nasty, asks me for $170! Honestly I think she charged me this because I complained of the style tightness. So now she upcharged me out of nowhere abd when I disputed this she yelled at me in another language. I left without refund only because I was in a city that I dont know and I was afraid to continue this dispute. I get back to my hotel to realize the style firstly was still too tight AND the braids are different sizes and uneven in the back. The lady who blow dryed my hair intentionally was raking through my hair harshly and with no apology! They have a cash only policy and I know thats because they don't have licensing and it's far harder to issue a refund.

    Hi, am the owner of the Mk African hair braiding, I have other Braider renting chairs and Fanta African is one of them. Prices posted on Booksy are general pricing listed, depending on different factors the price veries depending on the hair types. I was told by the braider that doe her hair that she was fully aware of the price and style before the braids were started. After everything was done thats when she was trying to complain and wanted to get her money back and . The customer posted a review on the site complaining about the service we provide and threatening to shut down our business down.

    This kind of behavior is a big problem for us, we have some people coming in and trying to set up their own prices but we will tell them what the service cost and they will agree and fully knowing what we charge for the price after the service theyll make problems and demand refund and keep the service weve done This customer keeps the braids!. We always try our very best to accommodate and render the best customer service but unfortunately this is one of those cases.  Attached is what she posted and the response. We will be more than happy to resolve this amicably, we regret this and we will be more than happily to resolve this issue.

    I am rejecting this response because:

    You and your staff were RUDE to me. I made complaints the entirety of my time in the chair to the braider and the tightness of my braids. Of course I did not notice until the end that the braids were uneven and different sizes. And you DID give me a different price than the one you gave me at the end. Initially you stated $125 then by the end I was told $170! So when I said $125 at the end you started to scream and yell loudly in another language. I was simply saying the price that was quoted to me in the beginning. There is a huge communication problem as 4 to 5 different braiders were coming in to help at different times and I think that is why my braids ended up different sizes and lengths. I felt unsafe in your shop to even dispute this further while I was there. Which is why I am choosing to handle it this way. Your response takes no accountability for your lies, and rude actions and is absolutely unacceptable! I will continue to fight this. God bless
