Mr ********************** came to my home to do an asphalt seal coating job on 4/28/2023. It involved pressure washing, crack repairing, repairing a low spot, and seal coating the driveway. He seemed to be a competent professional. I trusted him. Big mistake. He took a look around and quoted me $3000 for the job.He came back the next day. He had his children, one maybe 7, the other maybe 14. They were his workers. They pressure washed, and he told me he could not pressure wash the cracks (?). They destroyed the insulation on the pipes on the back of my heat pump. Then they sprayed mud all over the side of my house. And left it there to dry. A huge mess. They walked around and filled a few cracks. But left big globs of tar around and many large cracks were not filled. The low spot was a annoyance for me, nothing more. He put gravelly asphalt from a bag in the spot and tamped it down. Like a pothole patch on a street. It looked terrible. It was not smooth and nice like the rest of the driveway. It was awful. Everyone who saw it said first off "what is that? That is awful!" He is the "professional" and should have told me how it would come out. Then the "seal coating". He took some in a few areas and smeared it around, but then took his nozzle on a pipe and sprayed it like paint. Up in the air like paint. Spray paint. He ended up getting it on my house, garage doors, side door, and everywhere else around my driveway.Seal coating should be done carefully, not carelessly, putting down a thick coat and then spreading with a large squeegee tool. Then done again. Two coats of seal coat. This was not done. Not even close. It was left super thin, it filled no cracks and in fact there are bare areas with no seal coat at all.He was very insistent on being paid even before the job was done, even sending his small child to ask about getting paid.He was here 3 hours. $3000 for a mess that will take me 2 days to fix and paint and clean. This is a scam. The driveway looks terrible.

    Hello,

I would like to reopen this complaint. It has NOT been resolved. We had come to a negotiated settlement; I even offered him $750 for his time and material. He refuses to refund my money. Here is a revised complaint. Please use this instead.

    Mr. Nicholas email: ***********************************

Mr. Nicholas came to my home to do an asphalt seal coating job on 4/28/2023. It involved pressure washing, crack repairing, repairing a low spot, and seal coating the driveway. He seemed to be a competent professional. I trusted him. Big mistake. He looked around and quoted me $3000 for the job. He came back the next day. He had his children, one maybe 7, the other maybe 14, as his workers, very illegal, and on a school day. They pressure washed, and he told me he could not pressure wash the cracks (what?). They destroyed the insulation on the pipes on the back of my heat pump. Then they sprayed mud all over the side of my house. And left it there to dry. A huge mess. They walked around and filled a few cracks. But left big globs of tar around and many large cracks were not filled. The low spot was an annoyance for me, nothing more. He told me to drive on it and it would blend in. No, it did not. Then the "seal coating". He took some in a few areas and smeared it around, but then took his nozzle on a pipe and sprayed it like paint. Up in the air like paint. Spray paint. He ended up getting it on my house, garage doors, side door, and everywhere else around my driveway. Seal coating should be done carefully, not carelessly, putting down a thick coat and then spreading with a large squeegee tool. Then done again. Two coats of seal coat. This was not done. Not even close. It was left super thin; it filled no cracks and in fact there are bare areas with no seal coat at all. He was very insistent on being paid even before the job was done, even sending his small child to ask about getting paid. He was here 3 hours. $3000 for a mess that will take me 2 days to fix and paint and clean. The driveway looks terrible. The "seal coat" is a thin coat of paint, that's all. It covers next to nothing. I want my money refunded. He insists on coming back to do it again. Really? Why would I want this ordeal again? Why would I put myself in liability for his children? I got a reputable company to do the job for $2300! That includes cutting out the low spot and repairing it properly, giving my driveway 2 coats of sealant done by hand and by professionals. I feel ripped off and disrespected. He refuses to refund my money. Fool me once shame on you. Fool me twice shame on me. I want a refund.
