On 5/8/2024, I *** ******* wrote ahnapee shores camping resort llc, I wrote a check for my seasonal camp site. In the sum of $1839.13. I recently got divorced and gave my ex wife the camper. She has moved the camper off the seasonal site. I went out to the campground, to set up a different dwelling and there was someone in my site. They rented my seasonal camp site to a weekend camper without asking or my knowledge. I believe they owe me the money they made on subleasing my site. Which is $42.90 per night. They stayed 2 nights. $85.80 without taxes.

On September 4th, 2024 ***** ex-wife notified me that she was the sole owner of the camper that both she and *** owned together following to finalize their divorce, ***** ex-wife came to the resort on September 9th and had *** removed from any rights to the camper and seasonal site as she became the sole owner, on this same visit she looked at moving the camper to a lower cost site, both owners of Ahnapee Shores **** & *** talked with ***** ex-wife and showed her other sites and  talked with her about moving the camper and contacting others on our waiting list for the site and she stated, go ahead and fill it if you have someone whom wants it. When *** paid the balance for the seasonal site in May of 2024, he kept both he and his not yet ex-wife names on the site along with the camper for use during the 2024 season. On September 17th, ***** ex-wife notified me that she was taking the camper off and was going to work on it and would not be returning, the site was rendered back for use by Ahnapee Shores Camping Resort.

    Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

Upon the divorce, ******* (ex-wife), had got the CAMPER, not the site in the divorce. She never once went to the camper to maintain the lawn or said camper. Accord to their cantract, the site is mine til oct 15. Everything just had to be off the site by Oct 5th. Also, when I signed the contact for the year, I was informed by *****, that since we were still married (but separated) that she HAD to sign the contract. When they called for payment, I went and paid the seasonal site. I asked if they contacted her about payment. ***** said that, that was between ******* and I.

    Regards,

    ****** *******

When *** came into the office to renew the agreement for the 2024 camping season, he stated he was taking responsibility for the payment on the seasonal site of which the camper owned by both he and his now ex-wife, he was asked if he was taking ********* name off the seasonal his reply was "no, we want to keep everything the same due to the boys and she will also be able to use the camper'' they have 2 young children, and that is why both *** and ******* were both required to sign the agreement. Both owners of Ahnapee Shores talked to ******* *** of 2024 and she said to us, " let me know if the site does not get taken care of and that she would take care of it. In June of 2024 I contacted ******* as the lawn was overgrown needed cutting and trimming. She came to the seasonal the next day and took care of the lawn and put their bikes away that were laying in the lawn. The camper that was on the seasonal site was approved to be on that site and that camper only, any camper changes must be brought to the attention of management and approval made by them. We did not get notified of anything from ***, it was ******* that notified that she was the sole owner and removed ***** name from the agreement. We do not allow a camper to be owned by one person and the site agreement by another, that can become messy and that is what we feel is trying to be done with this and also feel we are being brought in the middle of their situation by ***.
