Big fish contracting did not cover my roof when I could see a storm was coming in. My house was flooded. The attic, the second floor, the kitchen, the bathroom right down to the basement had damage. In the contract it said that any bad decking would be replaced at a cost. Well when my kitchen ceiling was torn out because of the flood it was apparent to all of the contractors coming in that they didnt even replace the bad wood as stated in the contract! Shingles are nailed to the weather barrier and will pull out with the first good wind! So on top of destroying my house they didnt even do the roof right per the contract. They need to tear the kitchen roof off and replace the wood per the contract. They claim to be a ***************** which is sad. I trusted them.

    To Whom it may concern:

Yes the roof was completed and yes it did rain on the day the work was perfomed. The storm came fast and furious. The crew tried their best to get the roof tarped and water tight, the conditions made it very slippery, it got windy and they were sliding around on the high steep roof. Unfortunately water did get into the home. The crew is fully bonded and insured. The inteior damge will be completely covered by insruance. The sales rep offered her food, a hotel stay any comforts, homeowner declined them. The crew was back three times after install, repairing things she was not pleased with on the roof. The sales rep returned September 25th and we are redoing the first floor slope no charge.

    Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID 22317270, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

    [Please type your response here.]
They did not come back three times. The second day they were here was to finish the roof as it was not done. It rained again and they had to wait again to finish it. The second time they came back was because my gutter was not attached and they left the ground wire blowing in the wind across my roof and they did not flash around the chimney going into the kitchen but they figured that no one would see it but we did. I asked and asked them to fix the decking and they still need to specify that they are putting new decking on the roof not just they are doing the roof.  No offer of a hotel was made to me by them ever. They didn’t realize the renovation team would be dropping the entire kitchen ceiling because it was filled with water and that everyone would see that the decking was not done per contract. They need to specify in writing that they are putting on new plywood on the existing kitchen roof. New decking and not reusing old shingles needs to be in writing.
    Regards,

    Kristine Pieper
