I'm executing a large remodel at my home in *******, ********* and hired *********************** *********** ********************* LLC) for the electrical portion of the project that involves rewiring for kitchen remodel, garage conversion, new garage and some exterior lighting around the house. ************** created a contract (attached) and we had agreed on a total electrical project price of $18,360. per the agreement ***** was to start work on Sept 18th, 2023 with the understanding that it was a long project and his involvement could be flexible over about 3 months (there was no more than 2 weeks of work total for electrical). ***** had started the work and completed wiring the kitchen and a small bit of the garage conversion on October 20th, 2024. He was been given a check for 50% of the project ($9,180) on October, 3rd, 2023.***** had started the work and completed wiring the kitchen and a small bit of the garage conversion on October 20th, 2023. That was the last my project manager and I had ever heard from ***** for about 2 months of trying to get a hold of him. He took the money and was completely unreachable by phone or text. he had not touched the new garage, did not convert the electrical box, did not set up a second electrical panel in the garage, did not wire any outside lights and ran none of the electrical to the fuse box. I have a record of repeated text messages to ***** as does my project Manager (11/28/23, 12/18/23, 12/19/23, 1/16/24,1/18/24 and 1/23/24) With no response to about a dozen voicemails too. Eventually ***** called my project Manager and said he was on a project underground and missed 2 months of phone calls because he had no reception and would be back on the project after the second week of January, 2024. ***** did not show up then. With the project now being 7 weeks behind schedule and us needing the rough in electrical inspection completed so we could close the walls with drywall, I had to find a replacement electrician. I hired a new electrician on 1/23/24 and let ***** know over text that he was fired and I needed him to write me a check for $5,180 dollars and that he could keep $4,00o for the work he had done. He did not send the check and I let him know I would be reporting the theft to the BBB, He then texted back that he will be back in the country 2/10/24 and wanted to talk it over. I waited a week since 2/10/24 for *****'s call and heard nothing. When the new electrician started working the inspector came by and let him know that much of *****'s kitchen work would have to be rewired because he put plastic electrical boxes in air returns and ran non-metal covered romex in air returns, which is against code. He had also installed a 3 gang switch to the left of the back door when cabinets are to be installed which he knew because we had kitchen plans available. I ended up paying the new electrician thousands of dollars to fix *****'s work and would like to Have ***** send me back the full amount he stole of $9,180.00.

I was hired by ***************************** from Sudio 316 Creative, LLC a General Contractor for *********************** to do a Kitchen remodel and an addition to the garage which included a laundry room, workshop, and a new garage. When I met up with ******* at the residence of *********************** ************************************************************** to review what needed to be done for the Electrical, ******* told me we had a year or so to get this job done from the date I started which was September18th 2023. I started in the Kitchen and the kitchen walls were not completely removed yet. As I continued, I Found out that the existing electrical was not up to code and it needed to be removed and replaced the correct way. ******* also asked me to rewire some switches and Lights in the Family room and Dining room which I did I explained to ******* this additional work from the original scope. He agreed and also ******* added on additional electrical work to the rear patio addition which I added for future Electrical. When I was wiring for the Kitchen, I came upon the existing wiring to the Powder room off the kitchen area and the existing wires were bare opened wiring which could cause a fire. I ended up rewiring the Powder Room which also was not the scope of the work, I discussed this with *******, and he agreed to do the work. I finished the Kitchen for the rough and told this to ******* and he wanted to continue to do the drywall work, but I told him he needed to have inspection done first before drywall was up. He asked me to start on the laundry room, workshop, and Garage. So, I came back and started the laundry room and workshop. Now I had other Jobs to be finished because I Knew I had a year to finish the Job at **************** residence. One Day *********************** text me and asked me when i can come back to finish the rough electrical, I told him I had to finish up some existing jobs I already were doing, and ******* told me I had a year to finish the job. He replied that was unacceptable, and if I didn't come back soon, he was going to fire me and get another Electrician! My Original Bid for **************** Residence Electrical Job was $18,360.00 and *********************** wrote me a check for $9,180.00. Weeks Later he proposed to me that he thought I had done at least $4,000.00 of work there and I owed him $5,180.00. My product I Installed and Labor for **************** residence came to $9,050.00. If I Owe *********************** any Money it will be $130.00 and will send him a check if need be! Attached is a breakdown what I Installed and the Labor to install the product!

    Customer response

    Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

Jerry's response is a clear indication of his complete abandonment of the project and his complete lack of communication skills with the project manager and home owner.  The response is about scope increase and not about why he never answered his messages or picked up the phone for months.  There are also flat outlies in his response, He did not rewire any switches in the dinning and living room and he did not rewire the powder room.  Those rooms are completely out of scope. He did not complete half the work he originally promised, more like 25% and his retention of $5,130 for work he absolutely did not do constitutes theft. I also had to pay another electrician to correct *****'s work in the kitchen because he ran Romex and not metal covered wire (MC Cable) in air return cavities within kitchen walls and this against code. The entire remodel was planned for 12 months including drywall, kitchen cabinets, painting, exterior siding etc... This meant that ***** would have about 3.5 months to finish the electrical (plenty of time even with other clients) which would've taken 2-3 weeks of his effort. The remaining 8-9 months of the project were for the builder to do their work post electrical rough in completion, which ***** completely ghosted. If there was confusion, a simple phone call to the ** or the owner would have resolved this. It seems ***** was content with the check he received and decided to disappear. Nothing else explains his complete lack of communication. If anyone reads this, please stay far away from this unethical business.
    Regards,
