    Resolved
On 8/10/2024 I received a letter from Tri-State Adjustments, attempting to collect a debt that they purchased from *****************. However, I do not owe ******** any money. The debt in question was for **** supplies that were subsequently returned to ********, and a refund was credited to my account. My ideal outcome is: 1) Tri-State Adjustments will contact ******** and verify that the supplies were returned and my account has zero balance, and 2) modify my credit report to remove any and all of their activity from it (including but not limited to the collections attempt).

    Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

You stated you could not address my complaint because federal law requires consent from the consumer to reveal the existence of a debt to a third party. I consent to all necessary revelations and disclosures necessary for you to address my issue.

My objective has not changed: Tri-State Adjustments will contact *****************, verify that I have zero account balance and do not owe them any money, cease all attempts to collect this nonexistent debt, and modify my credit report to remove all references to this debt collection attempt.

    Regards,

    To whom it may concern,
I am writing to inquire about the status of BBB Complaint ********. I received an email from ***** ****** of the Wisconsin BBB, who asked some followup questions and then suggested I get in touch with you regarding the resolution.

A brief summary: I (****** *********) received a collections notice from Tri-State Adjustments, stating I owed money to ***************** (****************). However, no such debt exists. I contacted ******** regarding this matter and have taken the liberty of attaching the email response I got from them, which confirms that my account balance is zero and I owe them no money.

My BBB complaint made three requests of Tri-State Adjustments: 1) contact Aerocare to verify that no debt exists; 2) do not contact me again about any attempt to collect this nonexistent debt; and 3) remove all references in my credit report to this collections attempt.

I would like to know whether Tri-State Adjustments has undertaken requests 1 and 3 on that list. (So far so good on request 2.) I have CCed ***** ****** so she will see your response directly.

    Thanks for your time.

    Respectfully yours,
    ****** *********

    Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

I appreciate that Tri-State Adjustments has finally - on September 18, a mere 38 days after I submitted my initial complaint - sent me a message that they have contacted ******** to verify that I do not owe any money. While I appreciate this step in the correct direction, I hope that it will not take another 38 days before Tri-State follows up again to confirm that there is no debt and the matter is resolved.
