Ordered 4/12/2022 - spent over $140.00 with around 35 shipping - company claims they listed the product as expired, does not showed expired or out of date as you can see from screenshots I attached- they also have a policy stating that they cannot reimburse anything shipped to them because it arrives out of date. That is not specified on the website from what I can tell and a HORRIBLE business practice. How many out of date produxts do they sell?So instead of not receiving product they recieve it and sell expired and rancid meat.Product is not good opened and smells AWFUL. Expiration date was 09/2021. That's 6 months expired.Company is not willing to refund due to them selling expired meat without true showing that it is expired as the website states: "Product just came in on a refrigerated ship, with the dates of ****. They are still perfectly fine as always kept cold and are marinated."That date could mean anything and at this point I just want my money back because the entire experience has just been horrible and I am SHOCKED a company finds it okay to sell expired fish like it is no big deal and if I am not reimbursed I'll be instituting a complaint to ************************* and *************************** of the *** for further feedback on selling expired import products.Order number ******

    Business response

Hello, First I did get an email that stated everything was great, except for the pickled fish. I did explain to him that this was stated on our website that the product was dated and that he purchased at the discounted price. We have sold this in our store and I have had no complaints from regular customers who have purchased both online and in our retail store knowing the dates. The product is pickled and in a brine. With being in business for 60 years, we would never sell any product that could harm, sicken, or worse to a customer. In ********************** statement he writes we are selling rancid meat. I am going to take offense to this. We are a Federal plant and we in NO way have rancid meat in our plant. I am not sure what he is referring to since he said everything was good. He ordered several of our products that we make here in our plant.  Not sure why I should refund when he knowingly purchased this product when it was at a special reduced price because of the shipping situation with containers coming into port months late. We did not at all hide this from the customer so he purchased knowingly. We also have it in our terms and conditions, that he agreed too, when placing his order, that due to the shipping situations, we can no longer refund for short or out of date products that are still perfectly fine. We tried to reason with him for future orders in case he missed this information on the website but that was not good enough. The customer has now taken it to another level turning us into the BBB and threatening to turn us into the attorney general for the a simple situation that was in fact, on him, for purchasing knowing they are out of date.

    Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

I never recieved further response in email other than their initial response. I am sorry if my comment about rancid meat caused offense because what I recieved was NOT good and the fish did in fact taste rancid. I have not recieved an email response since their initial response on April 21st  as far as "I am not sure what he is referring to since he said everything was good. He ordered several of our products that we make here in our plant.  Not sure why I should refund when he knowingly purchased this product when it was at a special reduced price because of the shipping situation with containers coming into port months late." - on their website the attached is what is stated, no where does it state the product is past expiration, expiry, outdated, bad, or anything further.

"We tried to reason with him for future orders in case he missed this information on the website but that was not good enough."

First, I must have missed that email OR correspondence because no one has reached out past that.. Attached is a screenshot of the emails I recieved and sent, nothing further had been sent to me.

I did not knowingly receive expired product and only response has been the 'tough luck' email, ONCE.

    Regards,
