They got rid of my thistle and dandelion problem. I've used Weed Man for a little over two years now, and they have helped get rid of my thistle from my landscaping and side yard. Thistle is so stubborn, and my neighbor's backyard is full of it, so naturally, it infested the part of my yard closest to my neighbor's fence. The weeds are getting better every season. Weed Man has a policy where if you still see weeds after two weeks of application but before the next scheduled application, you can call them, and they will come back out at no cost. This is them standing by their work and putting the customer's expectations and needs first, which I appreciate! I plan to keep using them for the foreseeable future.Review from Christine C

Used Weedman 3 years. Very disappointed. We have a 1/4 acre lot. On two sides of home the lawn is thin with many brown patches. Called for a manager several times. One finally came to home & did not investigate the lawn nor offer any solutions. The only offer was to not charge for one application. After spending nearly $2,000 and to continue business as usual & save on the cost of only one application is terrible customer service. We will be applying our own weed & feed. We received a call from a customer retention specialist promising a senior manager would stop over. That never occurred. We do not recommend Weedman.Weed Man Lawn Care Response

Hi *********, we appreciate your feedback. The initial Technician Visit that you requested was conducted, and our Team Member did inspect the areas of ***************** to make some recommendations. The presence of mature trees, recent concrete work and the need for some improved maintenance/cultural practices were the main focus of the discussion. We see that you did receive an overseeding service, but did not proceed with the recommended watering schedule provided - proper watering is important for any lawn, but it's crucial for new seed germination. Regarding your concern of a second visit being requested but not received, we looked into your account and determined that you did speak with us to request an additional Lawn Analysis, which was promised to be provided free of charge. Unfortunately, the Representative you spoke to entered this lawn analysis request incorrectly in our system, which resulted in it being cancelled. We have had our **************** Manager attempt to reach out to you to discuss your concerns & offer that free lawn analysis we promised. She has left a voicemail, please consider getting back to her at your earliest convenience so that we can assist. We apologize for the mistake that occurred with setting the second lawn analysis visit up and hope we can speak with you soon to address your concerns. Thank you!Review from Jeanne M

Weedman is a joke, my husband and I are seniors on fixed income, we hired Weedman because they promised great results.They did 3 applications and the only thing they killed was the crab grass. The 4 other kind of weeds are still there growing strong. I called and complained and they said they would come and take care of them, they did come out and again still weeds. I told them I would pay them when they killed the weeds, they told us it takes a couple of weeks to see results. I waited weeks still no results now they says it takes 2-3 seasons to get rid of the weeds. They said it probably new weeds, its not new weeds. They put a hold on my acct. because I wouldnt pay them. They said they were going to do a reapplication in September but decided not to because I didnt pay them August 30th. I said thats because you didnt get rid of the weeds like promised. They said in the beginning that their work was guaranteed, its not they are a rip off. I paid them and told them That I would contact the appropriate agencies. Hi ******, we're sorry to hear that you weren't satisfied with our services. When it comes to controlling weeds and achieving our ideal lawns, the end result often requires time, effort and patience. We always like to remind our customers that lawn care isn't magic - while some results should be visible with each application (such as the elimination of Crabgrass as mentioned in your review), full and complete results often require some more time and effort, which is why we offer our services as a continued program (as opposed to singular applications). Even a beautiful lawn with no weeds requires care to maintain that state. We do offer free reapplications where needed to our program customers - unfortunately, nonpayment or cancellation of services may indeed affect that. We thank you for your feedback!Review from Pat S

Isn't the customer always right? Not with Weedman. What a disappointment. 2023 is our first and last year we will use Weedman. I contacted Weedman this spring to get our lawn in shape. The lawn has been slowly browning over the summer until it looks really bad. Yes, we water 3x's/week & soak deeply. Weedman has been out to look at the problem on 2 occasions. Always told "it's a fungus" or "it's insects." Why after a treatment does nothing improve? Yes we follow their instructions. Why does neighbor's lawn abutting ours not have any problem? It's fertilizer from Walmart! Final straw: The supposed 'owner' just left after rudely interacting with my husband. Weedman guy talking down to him, telling him to "water deeply." My husband said he does that routinely & Weedman isn't dealing with this ongoing issue. Weedman asked him, "Aren't you listening? Stop being a dick." My husband told him to leave & walked away. Hi ***, while we understand that the state of your lawn may be causing you frustration, we do not expect our Team Members to sit through verbal abuse when they are attempting to diagnose & help rectify lawn issues. The Team Member in question (who was a Manager, not an Owner) has never had a complaint, much less any feedback that wasn't positive from our customers. After this situation occurred, we sat down to speak with him to get his side of the story. The Team Member maintains that when he arrived at the property to investigate and deliver a diagnosis, he was met with hostility from the get-go, including cussing. The Team Member maintains that while he excused himself from the situation, he did not direct any insults or curses toward anyone. It was the determination of the Team Member that the lawn is affected by Ascochyta, which is a fungal turfgrass disease that can be exacerbated by improper watering practices. This company acts and feels like a virtual company. They always have sub contractors doing the job. Also, they force their services and trick you into thinking you order them and continue to renew the services only to charge you. Just like those online companies who have the same business model and its hard to get off the subscription. I asked to have a real person call me prior to each service . . . but no luck. They say the did the service, but i have no proof or notification. Its all computer text automated, but no person. My lawn has never looked as bad a s this year. We do see that the only lawn related service you had with ** was a Lime treatment, which is intended to help correct lawn pH. With this being the only lawn application your property was receiving, results would certainly be limited. Based on your review, we're wondering if there was some confusion as to what services you had active on your account with us - no fertilization, weed control, or other lawn improvement services had been ordered. Additionally, we do not sub-contract any aspects of our service to any other organizations or operations. At one point years ago, we were providing our ************ service under a different name, however it was still us providing these services. We do see that you had the ************ service, so this is likely where that confusion came from. We would be more than happy to discuss your concerns with you. We do provide our programs as a continuous service, meaning that services ordered will continue to be provided until/unless they are cancelled, which can be done at any time with our **************** team. We do communicate the renewal information on initial sign-up, as well with reminders each year before services resume. Weedman had some inexperienced employees caring for my lawn last year, in 2022. They were supposed to spray the weed killer on the rocks (where the weeds were propping up from), but instead they sprayed my bushes and ruined them (which I paid a lot of money for). Respectfully, I made a complaint. The situation was never rectified. The seasons were changing, so I cancelled my services. I called in April 2023 and spoke with a CSR. They confirmed my service for the spring/summer seasons of this year. Almost 30 days later I hadn't seen them come out to my home to do the weeds. I called customer service today to check my status and was told that they are refusing me service for this year w/ no explanation. They didn't even have the decency to inform me that they cancelled my service, leaving me in a vulnerable position. My daughter called to speak on my behalf, and was told by a CSR that they refused service this year because I supposedly cursed out CSR last year. My daughter asked to listen to the recording as she knows that I never behave aggressively or belligerently. I have always been a very calm person. Then the CSR rep changed her story saying that they don't have any record of me exhibiting this behavior (yes, we know bc I don't act in that way, ever.), but they still have to refuse service. I feel like I have been targeted for a number of reasons. One, because I made a valid complaint about the services rendered to me were unacceptable because they destroyed my property. Two, the fact that they attempted to lie and state that I cursed them out makes me feel that this action was also racially motivated. BIPOC members has just as much sense and grace as anyone else. Thank you. Lastly, anyone, despite who they are has the right to make a complaint, especially if it is warranted. This business is very unprofessional and clearly discriminates against their customers. I am very disappointed. However, I am happy to know who and what I am dealing with.Weed Man Lawn Care Response

Hi ******, we apologize if we fell short in addressing your concerns. However, after examining the evidence of the damaged plants (Hostas), we determined that they were affected by sun scorch, not our weed control product - due in part to the fact that the damage was very sporadic. If the plants had been hit & damaged by our product, the damage would have been more apparent and more consistent. Upon your return to sign up for services this season, we determined that it would be best to avoid further claims of damage to the plants and cancelled the account, as it seems that you still had some concerns about the products used & the effect on the plants. We do see that a Representative reached out to you to inform of the cancellation & left a voicemail in April after the sign up call, however we didn't hear back from you until May. Regarding the conversation about mistreatment of employees, this was a miscommunication - we don't have any record of hostile behavior being displayed to our Team Members, which is why the Team Member you spoke with corrected this when on the phone. On your concern of discrimination, we assure you that this is simply untrue. We have over ***** customers (& many employees) in the Madison area from all backgrounds - we would never treat a customer or Team Member in a negative manner due to their identity, race, or preferences. If you would like to speak with us further on your concerns or the cancellation of your account, we'd be happy to discuss that with you. Company Destroyed my yard was asked back out on a recall to control weeds and they used some type of grass killer. They destroyed my grass and my yard. Be careful.. Tried to resolve the issue with a supervisor was scheduled for him to come out on friday the 3rd was rescheduled without a single phone call to me.Weed Man Lawn Care Response

Really poor service and bad company overall. Save your money. Communication is poor and you can never get a technician out especially for a re-application in a timely manner. They are very expensive and my yard looks worse than it has since I've lived here. I switched to Weedman thinking it may better since they offer many more services than my previous lawncare company. The woman that called to give me a quote was more than pushy and insulting. Not only did she call in the middle of my work day on a Tuesday, but when I expressed the fact that I wanted to talk to my husband before I agreed to anything, she said if you end up sleeping on the couch for making this decision she would make it right.
