My first interaction with their sales last July was fine except for one glaring problem which was never resolved: the sales person emailed my completed application to me in plain text, which had all of my personal SSN and LLC tax ID information on it, data which I gave via a document I uploaded to their secure server, so they actually HAVE a secure server to which I can upload and presumably download secure documents. The salesperson didn't understand why I was upset, "we email the application to all our clients" he says, and despite explaining that just like PCI compliance requires me to keep my client's cc data safe, I should be able to trust the processing company to keep my personal data safe. He never apologized nor returned any of my calls after that. Too late, I had already signed ***** I shouldn't be surprised that even though I spoke at length to that sales person about their services and fees, it turns out he never told me about either an annual fee, assessed several months later, nor an early cancellation fee, which I am discovering now that I want to cancel.I don't know if it's ok to mention this, but I find it telling that the last person of my sales person was the same last name as the owner of the company as listed here. How this company is still able to be in business with such deceptive practices is beyond me.Merchant One, Inc. Response

Absolute thievery. I have held a merchant account for 9 months. On 3 seperate occasions, they charged me an insufficient funds fee....when there were not insufficient funds. Knowing they would try it again, I made a direct payment through their online portal. Ot took another month of me calling for them to find the payment an apply it. In order to issue a partial refund of their negligent charging. Then we hit this month. My small business had $140 in card sales. My merchant contract entitles merchant one to 2.6% + $0.10 per transaction. My contracted monthly fee is $34.95. They charged my account $134.88. I spend the entire day of Dec 30th (an entire 8 hours) on hold without an answer. The following 2 days they were closed. Today I got an answer at 9 am in which they told me the statement they used to bill me, was not yet available until 2pm. I tried to call again at 3 pm. The automated system hung up on me 6 times in under 90 minutes. Luckily, a few minutes later, they called back. The call back only sisclosed that the statement used to charge me still wasn't available for them to see, 5 days after it had been a pending withdraw from my account. The overcharging, triple charging and lack of structure are deliberate, and therefore, Criminal. The owner(s) of the business are entirely unaware of their contract wording. They could learn a better business model from rabid raccoons.

I started using a device to process payment from this business and was charged extensive fees that WERE NEVER DISCLOSED! Even lied about, the "account manager" who had helped me set up and account flat out lied and scammed me so hard, they had access to my bank account so they were just taking money out. When I called to find out what these charges were it was impossible to get ahold of the account manager, let alone anyone. I spent an entire day on hold and when finally talking to someone they laughed at me for thinking there would be no fees. It was devastating. I was told someone would call me back that I could talk to to try and reach an agreement and they never did. I ended up paying money to my bank to stop their access to my accounts.Merchant One, Inc. Don't do it. The sweet deal they give you comes with poor customer service. Your sales rep is supposed to be your point of contact. It takes days even weeks for a response. I'm willing to pay a little bit more for good customer service. You get what you pay for.Merchant One, Inc. Response

I am a new small business. I set up with Merchant One with representative IS. He assured me this was no risk, and if we didn't like the way it worked for our business we could cancel because we were getting a Clover Go. After 3 months, we aren't where we need to be with the business to maintain a monthly fee for using it, so we cancelled. Not only did they s**** up the cancellation paperwork for 2 months, continue charging us for those months, but then without warning charged us $295 for cancelling. I've submitted massive amounts of emails and paperwork. Still no response. My next step is to go through my bank to get the money back. Definitely buyer beware and don't believe ANYTHING their sales **** tell you.Merchant One, Inc. Response

We have been working with Merchant One for 2 plus years now and can honeslty they are THE WORST card service company we have dealth with. They add on extra charges they dont even talk about up front with you and make up a variety of different charges along they year and tell you cost are going to go up. They are hard to get ahold of via phone and take forever to fix issues. We just had a large transaction we did with our own card trying to buy from our own business. At first they said because it was a large amount it would not go through the normal next day funding as they needed to have extra documention such as receipts. Understandbly we provided it. I gave them everything they requested for. After telling me multiple times it was being reviewed (days on end), they finally told me it would deposit. The day came to be deposited only to be told to see it was not. After multiple calls there risk team told me that another underwriting team had reviewed the transaction and deemed it unauthorized as we as the owners were doing the transactions. After arguing there reasoning we gave up on it. The very next day the funds were still deposited to our checking acct only to be taken back the after next. On top of it all we were charged for transactional fees we were told by there risk team member Lesly that we would not be charged and if we did they could be reversed. We called today to speak to a supervisor. After being told within 10 min someone would call me back we got an email sent to us saying basically there was nothing they can do. The charges were charges made by the credit companies and not them. Whatever you do, not DO BUSINESS WITH MERCHANT ONE! Find someone else!!Merchant One, Inc. Response

Charging our own card at the business is against VI/MC regulations and in violation of the processing agreement. Please review your merchant agreement terms and conditions. As a processor fees are paid to the card brands for processing the sales for their merchants, even if reversed, your processor is still charged fees for the sale therefore you are also responsible for fees. You are billed fees on the sales that you run, per your agreement, however in violation of the agreement, the sale to your own card is not permitted therefore it is reversed, you are still responsible for those fees as you processed the sale.

SCAMMERS THEY TELL YOU EVERTHING YOU WANT OVER THE PHONE BUT WHEN IT COMES DOWN TO IT DOES WORK THAT WAY CUSTOMER SERVICE IS THE WORST AND KEEP TELL YOU WHEN ACCOUNT CLOSED TELL YOU THREE MONTHS LATER IT IS NOT CLOSED AND STILL CHANGE YOU DO NOT DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY INFO ON BUSINESS CAUSE THEY WILL TRY TO CHARGE MONTHS LATERMerchant One, Inc. THE WORST EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD IN CUSTOMER SERVICE I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND AND WILL DO EVERYTHING I CAN TO TELL EVERYONE THIS IS A HORRIBLE COMPANY HOLDING SMALL BUSINESS FUNDS FOR NO REASON. I HAVE GIVEN YOU EVERYTHING NEEDED AND STILL WASTED MY TIME. BY HOLDING THE FUNDS I COULD NOT PAY MY VENDORS FOR THE WORK, I HAD A VERY ANGRY CUSTOMER TRYING TO GET THE CAR BACK WHICH I COULD NOT RELEASE BECAUSE YOU WERE HOLDING MY FUNDS.
