I went to Dr. *********** ******, DDS for a biopsy of a growth on my tongue and was told I would have to have an incision and it turned out didn't need an incision and stitches and only scraped it off so was overcharged the original estimate amount. Also, this was covered under my medical healthcare insurance, Common Ground, and Advance Dental was directed (at my appointment and through numerous phone calls after) to bill my Common Ground Health since it was a covered expense, however, they failed to do so per Common Ground, within 90 days so was no longer applicable and I was also no longer responsible for ADVANCE DENTAL'S FAILURE TO DO SO. They have continued to try to collect money from me and has now sent it to collection. My account with them and collection should be $0 immediately & accordingly. This has brought great stress to my numerous ongoing health issues and has wasted a great deal of my time. Thank you for helping me with this distressful situation and bill I am not personally responsible because the business failed to do what was necessary to get paid, etc.

I had a procedure on 12/27/22 and was billed the full amount prior to insurance processing. I was told that once the insurance claim was processed, if I overpaid, I would get a refund check within 4-6 weeks as long as all claims were processed. Over the next 5 months, I called in to check on the status of the claim and was told it had not been processed yet multiple times. I finally got in contact with my insurance and saw the claim was processed two days after it was submitted (see attachment). I called back and was told they would look into it to see if they could find the check and that once they did, it would take another 4-6 weeks for mailing. I asked to speak to the manager and was told she is not in the office and that I could try again later. Based on other reviews, this is a common occurrence that has been happening since at least 2020. Please avoid this business as they are either not operating in good faith or they are unable to fulfill one of the most basic aspects of a business properly.

At the Advanced Dental Specialists ******** ** location, My wife had a Dental Surgery here (Oct'22) in addition to Oral Exams (July'22, Aug'22, Sept'22). The amount for Surgery differed from what our Insurance had mentioned. However. we were told to pay the Full Amount and a Refund will be provided once Insurance makes the payment. We did that. A little while later we get another bill for $138, this one for an Oral Exam for 9/8/2022. From that point on, weve Called their Office multiple times, left several VM's. Mostly our calls and VM's go unanswered. When a call does get answered, for every Question we ask, the answer is a Scripted "The Manager is Not in Today/ Vacation/ Out" and therefore the Front Desk cannot answer our questions, nor handle Bill related queries, nor Refund related queries etc. "This has now gone for weeks and apparently the Manager is still unavailable. Any messages Left with the Front Desk to be passed onto the Manager, are either not done or this incompetent Manager could care less. Now, weve gotten another letter. This one warning us that our case will be Sent to a ****************** if the payment for $138 isnt done. I just Called the office again and lo and behold, another VM.We called our Insurance and they noted that the office never sent them a bill for this 9/8 Oral Exam so off course nothing was paid by them. We're now not sure what course of action to take against this establishment, get our money back and settle any accounts, IF they indeed need to be settled (Which means the action is on them to first send the bill to our insurance).

I had a tooth pulled in July 2021. When I received the *** from my dental insurance it stated that my dental insurance would not pay the claim for the pulled tooth because it should be billed under my health insurance. Since April of 2022 I have been trying to have Advanced Dental Specialists run that claim to my health insurance. I left multiple messages stating this with no return phone call. When I did talk to someone she said she would do that and got my health insurance card information. Time went by and I never got an *** from my health insurance. I called my health insurance and they said a claim was never sent. That led me to calling the office again with no luck in return phone calls. When I went into the dental office to get a check up, I asked about them running it and they again said they would. They never did. I called again on July 7th 2022 and "*****" told me she would run it, I also asked if there was a billing department because this issue has been going on and she told me "we don't have a billing department". I called on July 21st 2022 because again they HAD NOT SENT the claim to my health insurance. I spoke to "*******" and he said that he would have the billing department call me the next day (I guess now all of a sudden they DO have a billing department). No one from Advanced Dental Specialists called me the next day. In the mean time I am getting letters from Advanced Dental Specialists saying that they are going to send a collection agency after me if I don't pay. I WILL pay as soon as they send it to my health insurance first. It has been very frustrating dealing with them. Something as simple as sending a claim to an insurance company should not be causing this much of an issue.

Billing Scam-#***** 04/28/2021 -Evaluation/Scan 07/16/2021 - Implant procedure Out of pocket -Co payment made same day ($1892)Billing ***** was examined 2-3 months before I had this expensive procedure. At the end of my eval, I was given an estimate and I WAS TOLD MY INSURANCE WOULD COVER ALMOST HALF of the procedure I sought. After my insurance company denied the charges, I learned that Advanced Dental DID NOT do a pre-authorization ahead of my procedure and again, they had 2-3 mos to do it. Had Advanced Dental-Milwaukee done so it would have learned the procedure was not covered (contrary to what they told me) and could have advised me. I would have waited a year or 2 and set aside more for flexible spending to prepare for it. An Advanced Dental-Milwaukee manager argued with me today that having me sign an estimate with a clause that says I will pay for it if my insurance company doesnt, means they dont need to bother giving accurate/informed information to their customers. An ethical business would 1) do a pre-authorization automatically to ensure payment and customers ability to pay, 2) tell the consumer they havent done one, or 3) not tell a customer their insurance will cover any part of it if they havent done a pre-authorization. I wonder how many customers have been scammed in this way. The manager I spoke with today said they only do pre-authorizations at a customers request. They know some customers are not aware that they must make a request yet this is their business practice. Unbelievable.

On 3/35/2021 I had a a dental procedure at Advanced Dental specialists, *********, ** location. The day before the procedure I received a call for the providers office asking that I bring $1200 on the day of service. I explained that I was covered by 2 separate insurance carriers in addition I had called the insurance companies prior to the procedure to get an estimate on what my out of pocket costs would be and they both stated my costs would not near $1200 out of pocket. After having a couple conversations with them and with a managers approval they agreed that I would not have to come with any out pocket money. As the months passed I began to receive bills from the office, Month after month I received bills where insurance money that was applied on the previous **** was removed and no one in the office could explain and no one ever called me back. I called the insurance companies and they stated that all the money was sent to the office and should have been applied to my **** and more than likely between both insurance companies they paid more than what was owed. Over the course of many months I placed phone call after phone call asking for clarification on my **** and I did not receive done phone call back. I reached out again and asked for a manager (******) and she did call me back and stated she would need to look into the billing and she would call me back on December 17th, 2021. She did not call me back and I have reached out 4 more times to get help with my **** and not one phone call back. I had a follow up appointment in February 2022 and was told I have a balance owed on my **** and told them I would not be paying anything out of pocket at this time. I asked for ****** to call me and she did not. I also have stopped receiving bills in the mail but at my appointment was told I have a balance due. I really need an outside source to help me get to the bottom of this billing nightmare and have someone look at what the insurance company sent.
