Milwaukee Radio Group is telling me that I owe them $300.00 for a radio ad that I did not approve. We had talked about placing an ad but I did not approve anything. I did not sign any contract and did not fill out any credit application. MRG is saying that they ran an ad 3 times and that I now owe $300.00. I should not have to pay for something that was not approved.

    Business response

    09/16/2022

****************** states that the $300.00 payment required by Milwaukee Radio Group for commercials aired should be waived as he never approved the ads.

Our Account Executive who worked with ****************** discussed a campaign in April, 2022. He declined at that time but contacted our AE to begin a revised campaign in August of this year.

The email communication summarizing the discussion of a new campaign is below:

    From: ***************************
    Sent: Monday, August 15, 2022 12:52 PM
    To: ***************************** <*******************>
    Subject: WKLH Radio Campaign

    Hi ***,

A revised campaign reflecting 3x per week instead of 5 is attached.  Also attached are the sample traffic billboard sponsorships for your review.

As far as payment, you have two options:

    1. You can fill out a credit application and you will then be billed with 30 days to pay.
      1. Please note that the credit application asks for media references.  If you do not have media references, you can use vendors you work with
      2. If you have a standard reference list, you can provide that instead but please sign our form and email it with the reference sheet
    2. You can pay cash in advance by going through our portal.  The instructions for our portal are attached. You would then be paying by the month

Please let me know if you have any questions.

We can go ahead and start next Monday if that works for you.

    Thank you, ***!

After being notified that ****************** was selling his business, our AE contacted him again regarding payment for the outstanding invoice:

    To: ***************************** <*******************>
Subject: Please give me a call

    Hi ***,

I tried calling but got your voicemail.  Can you please give me a call?

I am in a bad position here because you gave the go ahead, we aired $300 of advertising, and I need to make sure that we can get that invoice paid.

Can you please help me out by giving me a call?

    Thanks so much.

As ****************** was not forthcoming in responding to our communications, our AE notified him in advance that she would visit his office to simplify the collection.

His contention that the campaign was not approved is at issue.

Given that misunderstanding or miscommunication may have created confusion regarding the business arrangement, and further given the relatively small amount at issue ($300.00), we are hereby waiving his owed balance and will make the requested billing adjustment.

We will notify ****************** of our decision immediately.

    Thank you, *********

Please contact me with any further information and instructions.
