From September 21st 2022 until today December 30th 2022 I've stayed in the same room here. I'm never late with payment, I work 10 hours a day 7 days a week so im hardly here, I dont cause issues and i keep to myself. I was told last week by an employee that I was paying too much booking weekly on booking.com which was around $450.00 a week. They said the weekly rate was about $350.00 and after 30 days I should have received my taxes back. Ive been here close to 4 months. On monday December 27th I came to talk to the owner who was out of town so i explained to the employee at the front desk who agreed that I was owed money back plus taxes. They said the owner had to do it and he did it for only people who came and asked but it wasn't a big deal. They said pay the standard rate for 2 days so he could talk to the out of town owner. Today December 30th at 11 am im woke up with pounding on my door telling me i needed to come to the front desk immediately. This week I'm working night shift so I sleep during the day. I'm groggy and still half asleep I walk up there and im told that I'm not owed anything and I needed to pay now or get out. 2 days ago im told im owed $100.00 a week plus taxes, now I'm being told they haven't been charging me taxes and I didn't live far enough away to get the weekly rate. I don't live anywhere and he can't adjust my rates on a website. The employee showed me on a piece of paper with all my bookings listed that I was indeed charged the taxes. The owners wife came in yelled at me saying she was in charge not her husband and to pay or get out. Then walked out of the office and straight to my room and yelled at my visiting girlfriend to get out. I paid the higher rate and I feel I'm being treated unfairly. I've paid on time and been nothing but nice to these people who were pushy, rude, woke me up in the middle of my night and raised their voice at me when I had done absolutely nothing wrong. I want my money and taxes back.

    Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

The pictures he posted is only 3 days of 5 months continuously that I stayed there. I have proof I never missed a single day of payment and that I payed taxes on all 5 months contusionly. After they found out I contacted you they kicked me out while I was at work told me I had 10 mins to get my stuff and called the police on me. 5 months so everything I owned was there. They left me with no money and no place at all to go, without notice or time to get my belongings. They took my clothes my things I bought even my toiletries, all this because they owe me money. I only pursued this tax refund because one of the employees here said that I was paying to much for my weeks and I needed to have my taxes returned. He said the owner does it all the time and it no big deal, but to only people who ask for it, which is in contradiction to the owners response. They kept my deposit to negate the fact I didn't destroy or break anything in my room of 5 months. These people are mean, vindictive, greedy and they lie, all they care about is taking American Money from hard working people. They shouldn't be allowed to get away with this. I paid $1,800 a month to stay here and i could see the dirt ground under my bath tub. My floors make your socks black. The HVAC unit was loud and the cover kept falling off.  I didnt complain or cause any fuss over anything. I did nothing wrong but try to get money I'm legally owed according to the state laws of wv.

    Regards,
