I enrolled my toddler in this daycare, I paid $80 tuition fee and $225 upfront for the first week and every week thereafter for a three week period. August 24, 2020, the business owner stopped my son from coming to the daycare because my husband and her husband had words back and forth, nothing physical and both men were wrong. It started with the owners husband saying my toddler needs to be in a car seat when dropping him off at daycare. It wasn’t what he said but how it was said, I spoke with the owner and she explained policy and I apologized for any confusion. I received a call saying we got my sons pillow and blanket because they closed the center Monday and my son was sick Tuesday so Wednesday was his first day back. When my husband arrived at the center, the owners husband answered the door. My husband began by trying to apologize and went to explain why he was offended by how he spoke to him earlier. The owners husband was dismissive, rude and disrespectful, this caused my husband to react in the same manner. Both men were wrong, however, when he went to pick my son up, he was given all my sons belongings and told it was my sons last day. The handbook doesn’t state they can do that but nevertheless I excepted it but requested a refund for that week since the center closed on Monday not due to a holiday or Covid and I paid $225 for the entire week. The owner only offered $90, though I feel the entire refund for the week is warranted because I got no notice, no warning NOTHING…. I had to find another location pay their enrollment and tuition fees of 200 plus the first week of 220. I still have not received what she offered though it could have been sent via ACH the owner stated the accountant wanted my credit card information but she choose not to and wanted a check cut. I want help with a refund of the entire week versus 90 dollars to at least cover the tuition and enrollment.

I told *** ****** that he can no longer bring his child **** back to her center due to his rude comments  and for not understanding that he could not bring his child **** to the daycare without properly being in  a car seat. I was not here when my husband first spoke to *** ****** but my staff are witnesses that my  husband never raised his voice nor was he rude to *** ******.. 100 simply told him that when he pulled  up to the daycare that the child needed to be in the back in a car seat and that's sitting in the front seat without any restraint was not safe for his child and that if it happened again that we would have to  report it due to us being mandated reporters. *** ****** then raised his voice and told my husband that  that was his child and he'd do what he pleased. My husband then repeated that if it happened again  that he would report it to the proper authorities and then he turned and walked back inside the center.  one of the staff was outside and witnessed this and others were standing at the door. On that day I did  contact the mother *** ****** and explain to her what happened. At first, she raised her voice until she  explained to her that the child was sitting in the front seat not the back. She then stated that she didn't  know that he was sitting in the front seat and also acknowledged that they do not make him Sit in a car  seat or seat belt if he does not want to. she also stated that they live close to the daycare so that it  wasn't a problem if he wasn't properly in a car seat. dealing with children on a daily basis I was shocked  and appalled in her comment about not making sure our child was safely in a car seat. I did let her know  that it happened if it happened again that he would no longer be able to attend the daycare and I myself  would report any suspicious activity regarding not having her child in his car seat. her husband had to  come back to bring heading for nap time and at that point I went out to have a conversation with him . I  explained to him the exact same thing that my husband tried to tell him that morning, but he did not  want to hear it he told me I was going to be quiet and listen to what he had to say. he raised his voice  and told me that that's his child and that he would do whatever he wanted to do with his child so I then  said well your child may not attend the daycare any longer as of today because I will not be responsible  for anything that happens to him. I told him I was not comfortable with knowing how he felt about the car seat situation and that I didn't want no parts of it. I spoke with his wife and she wanted a refund for  the two days that were left in the week which was Thursday and Friday. I agreed to refund her the total  amount of $90. my accountant mailed check but he mailed it to the daycare address and not to **** ******'s address. I contact her and let her know what had happened and asked her if she could pick the  check up but she stated that she gets off of work too late to pick it up. she asked if her husband can pick  it up and I said no I did not want him back at the center because how rude he was. we message each  other back and forth on Facebook a few times to try to figure out how to get her the check immediately  but with both of us being so busy we were missing each other's messages there for a little while. the  last message that I received said that she would pick the checkup so I then at that point put the check in  an envelope and stuck it in my mailbox and informed my staff that if she came to pick the check up it  was fine to give it to her. The check is dated 916 and has been waiting on her since then to be picked up.  In all honesty I forgot about the check until I received this complaint. After I received the complaint, I did  contact **** ******, but I did not mention that I received the complaint from the Better Business  Bureau. Before I could say anything, her comment was honey, I've been so busy, but I'll get by soon to  pick up the check. If she knew if she could come by anytime to pick the check up, I'm not understanding  why she needed to call the Better Business Bureau and complain. like I stated the check has been ready  for her to pick up in my mailbox. I will not be refunded her the entire week because he did attend  daycare for the days Monday Tuesday and Wednesday. And as far as the enrollment fee will not be  refunded as well. After I spoke with her one I believe October 31st or November 1st her husband did  come pick up the check the very next day. When I had spoken to **** ******, I did tell her that it was fine for her husband to come by so that we can go ahead and take care of the situation. When he came  by my staff told him he had to sign that he was getting the check he continued to question them why he  needed to sign. They simply stated it was to protect themselves to show that they gave him the check.  So, a refund of $90 has been REFUNDED.
