    Had a random hit for $**** on my credit from Met credit without a single phone call or email. I just happened to look and see it.

    MetCredit acts as agent for ***** in the collection of an unpaid account owed by the complainant. MetCredit has made numerous phone calls and sent sms message to the complainant to the phone number provided by *****. We have also sent many emails to the same email address the complainant provided in his complaint, the most recent being on Jan **, 2025. The complainant has failed to respond to any of our attempts. the collection item reported on the complainants credit was done so on the direction of ***** and it will remain in place until we have been instructed by ***** to remove it.

    MetCredit was hired by ***** to collect an overdue account from the complainant. The complainant has failed to contact our office to discuss his outstanding balance owed to *****. If the complainant disputes this debt he must contact our office and provide details of his dispute so the ***** can conduct an investigation. The collection item reported by MetCredit on the complainants credit file will remain in place unless we are instructed by ***** to remove it.

    I've involved the BBB already and  you are required by me to communicate through this channel now. Once again you are doing a run around with my file. You currently have all details of my case and still saying you need to do an investigation. Shouldn't you do an investigation before, then inquire someone's credit report, and be ready with accurate info when you are asked? You are not authorized to inquire my credit report, I do not have any type of business with you, you can expect more actions from me, including legal actions.

    The BBB does not have the ability to investigate the validity of your debt to *****, nor do they have any legislated authority to adjudicate a complaint. If you do not wish to contact us directly then we would recommend that you open an investigation directly with *****. As stated previously, we act as agent for ***** and take our direction from them. We cannot remove the unpaid collection items from your credit until we have been instructed by ***** to do so.

    The complainant has never contacted MetCredit to discuss the outstanding account or request any supporting documentation. If the debt is being disputed the complainant must contact MetCredit to provide details so that a proper investigation can be completed. The credit reporting will remain in place until such time as we have been instructed by ***** that the debt is not valid and to remove the collection item from the complainants credit.

    There are protocols that must be followed in order to validate your claim. You must contact MetCredit or ***** to provide additional details in order for a proper investigation to be completed. The collection item reported by MetCredit on behalf of ***** will remain in place until we have been instructed otherwise by *****.

    For over * years now Metcredit continues to contact me by email, phone and text message to try and collect money from someone who is not me. I have asked to be removed from their email list, to remove my number from their context for this person. All to no avail. They continue to contact me over and over again. I dont have any other recourse except to file a complaint against this business

    A collection file was listed with MetCredit in 2018 with the complainants phone number attached. That phone number was removed from the file after being advised on Dec **, 2018 by the complainant that the number did not belong to the party we were trying to reach. In Dec 2024 a new collection file was placed with MetCredit containing the same phone number. That phone number was removed on Jan *, 2025 after being advised we were calling the wrong number. We have added the complainants number to our do not call database in the event that we receive subsequent files assigned with his phone number. We have never sent any emails to the complainant at ***************** as it does not exist in our database.

    Metcredit has reported a debt to the credit bureau without notifying me by mail and without showing me proof of debt transfer or ownership as well as the interest amounts causing the extreme difference between the original owing amount and the amount being reported to the credit bureau. I have repeatedly requested proof with no reply. They emailed me with one amount owing in 2022 and offering a **% discount settlement and then when I responded asking for a payment plan they did not respond and only emailed me in 2023 with double the amount owing. I emailed them regarding the inflated amount and they responded saying they charged an **% yearly interest, I then asked for proof and itemized receipt showing these interest charges and how they were calculated but the representative stopped responding after that and not long after they reported that inflated debt amount to the credit bureau which greatly affected my credit. The original debt amount they claimed was $**** in 2021 and the current amount reported on my credit is $****. I tried reaching out to ***** who was the original creditor but they also offered no response.

    MetCredit acts as agent for ***** so there has not been any transfer of ownership of the debt. The complainant has failed to pay their debt to ***** as agreed and therefore is subject to interest charge on the overdue balance. ***** provided the service to the complainant as agreed and the complainant failed to pay as agreed. Neither MetCredit nor ***** have ever refused to accept payment from the complainant. We recommend that the complainant contact our office at ************** to discuss repayment options that we have available.

    I am rejecting this response because: I contacted your company in August 2022 about a payment plan/settlement agreement but never received any response from your office. I then only received further communication from your company in December 2023. I asked for documentation detailing the debt and showing these so called interest charges but was not given any response. I emailed on multiple occasions asking for verification of the debt but received no response. I have attached screenshots of conversations with your representative as well as the emails I sent and any responses I received. I could've settled the debt back in 2022 when I contacted you but you didn't respond and they came back with an amount double what you claimed back in 2022 but now I am expected to play some inflated amount based on your lack of communication. I contacted ***** as well but again received no response.

    ***** originally placed the file with MetCredit for collection on March *, 2021. The file was recalled from MetCredit by ***** on June *, 2021. Between March *, 2021 and June *, 20** MetCredit made numerous attempts to contact the complainant by phone, sms, and email. The complainant did not respond to any of those attempts until Aug. **, 20** at which time MetCredit was no longer handling the collection of the account for *****. On Dec *, 2023 ***** once again placed the file with MetCredit for collection. On Feb *, 2024 the complainant emailed MetCredit and discussed the account with a manager who explained the above to the complainant. We would recommend contacting MetCredit at ************** to discuss repayment options including the possibility of reducing the interest charges.

    I am rejecting this response because:

    I have repeatedly contacted Metcredit asking for proof of the debt and any invoice with detailed information regarding the so called interest. I have attached screenshots of emails I sent to MetCredit's representative, one I sent from their website complaint resolution, and one I had sent through Consumer Protection BC where my current home address was provided to MetCredit to deliver the documentation I asked for but they have not responded to any of my requests. I do not recognize this debt or the inflated interest amount you are trying to pin on me. I emailed ***** as well regarding this matter with no response from them either. You stated in your response that ***** took the account back from you guys as of June * ************************************************************* after that time and into 2022. So either you have your dates wrong or you are admitting to ********* me for no reason.

    Hi, I don't see how the business has addressed the issues. I have repeatedly shown proof of their refusal or dismissal of my requests for documentation verifying this debt and its supposed interest charges. They are ruining my credit and making life difficult for me and they can get away with it without even providing me with proof of debt. I requested documentation personally and through the Consumer Protection BC providing them with my home address and requesting that documentation be sent there. According to Canadian law they are required to provide me with documentation showing the debt is mine but they refuse to do so. Not once in any of their responses to me have they stated that theh sent the documentation or would be doing so. All they keep repeating is their phone number which I don't need or want.

    The complainant has never contract MetCredit to request a copy of a contract. MetCredit is not required to have a contract with MetCredit as we were hired by ****** to act at their agent. If the complainant disputes the validity of this debt they must contact ****** directly so that they can conduct an investigation.     I have been trying since July 2024 to have this account verified by the collection agency. I called ******* to see if the company who is posting false information on my credit bureau is able to provide a original contract with my signature and an original copy to be sent within * days as this was from July 2024. I mailed letters with the request and they keep on saying they have the documents but wont provide them and wont remove the file off my account. I would like a copy of their license to prove they are legit and a copy of my signature and the original amount for this file or remove for false information on my credit as that is not legal as far as I know. Pls help me thank you its been almost half a year

    MetCredit is a licensed and bonded collection agency with the legal authority to collect debts in all provinces and territories in ****** for over ** years. Our Ontario Collection License # is *******, a copy has been attached. MetCredit has been hired by ****** to collect an overdue account from the complainant. A phone call by the complainant to ****** customer service will confirm that ******************** is their authorized agent with respect to this file, reference ****** account # *********.

    The account that ******************** has reported to the complainant's credit bureau is for ****** Ignite IPTV that was installed at the same address that the complainant lists as her current address in this **********************************************************************************. Additionally, the email address provided to  at the time the services were taken out with ****** matches the email address provided by the complainant in her complaint - *********************** MetCredit has responded to the disputes filled with Equifax with the required information demographic information to validate the debt.

    If the complainant believes this account was opened fraudulently in her name she must contact ****** so that they can conduct a ***** investigation. If they confirm that the account is fraudulent then the will instruct MetCredit to remove the collection item from the complainants credit bureau. It should be noted that the creditor is not required to provide a copy of contract with a signature as a means to validate the debt.

    There is a wrong name on my file with is false information with the Fair credit reporting terms and an address change has been told to Equifax months ago. I want the file removed if there is not proof that the information is mine. That is illegal to say its my account without documentation that I have asked for since July 2024. Please remove it or provide documentation.

    We can only remove the credit reporting if we have been instructed by ****** to do so. As stated in our previous response, if the complainant believes that this account was fraudulently opened in her name she must contact ****** so that the can conduct an investigation. If their investigation determines the account is fraudulent then they will recall it from collections and close it as *****. This process will also remove to ********************** from her credit report and ensure that it does not get reassigned to a new collection agency and reported again.

    I am rejecting this response because if Met Credit is listing this as my debt. I would like to be provided proof from them. That is illegal to post false information on my credit bureau while requesting me to do their job of finding more information for them. Thats absurd. 

    if you have posted on my account please provide the date of the first delinquent payment. Date of the last payment to the account and the date of the charge off. 

    please also provide a contract with my original signature or remove this by tomorrow from my credit file. This is *******.

I do not have a ***** account and had one and closed ************************************************************************************* on the system , they said i'm not on their system and there is nothing owing under my name or phone number. I want this collection charge off my credit report immediately. This is an account that is ** years old or more.

    We have checked our database and do not have any accounts under the name **** ********** We also searched using the telephone number provided in your complaint and were not able to match to an account. Is it possible the account is under a different last name? Also, on the credit report there should be a MetCredit account number. If you can provide either of these items we will be able to review your complaint.

    I DO NOT OWE that amount to Koodo. I do done have an account for over ** years. I Called Koodo and there is nothing open on the account. THIS IS WRONG. I do not know where you got this dollar amount from or how you arrived at the dollar amount. Please show me documentation from Koodo that I owe that dollar amount as proof. I will then contact ***** again.  I have no dealing with you guys on an account that was closed with Koodo over ** years ago.
