Just over a year ago I made a complaint (*********) about ***** Mobility persistently contacting me through MetCredit, despite my repetitive attempts to communicate my position. Fortunately this harassment ceased after you communicated with *****. Unfortunately it has begun again. I have received several texts and an email. I will copy the latest email in the supporting documents. I have more from 2021 and 2020 if required.Business response

As it turns out MetCredit continues to text and phone 3 to 4 times a week. I am not responding for reasons already mentioned, but would like it to stop. If their idea of following through with the complaint is to review and come to the same conclusion, then I must reiterate that I can live with them doing what they continuously threaten to do. Just do it. I have stated my case very clearly. There is no sense in asking me again and again. No means no.
I would like to reopen the complaint.
Thank you for your time on this,

******,
We are a little confused about your complaint:
You originally complained that we had been calling you, and then the calls stopped after a complaint was made and then the calls started again recently. You further claim you disputed the debt and had previously communicated the dispute to our office. Now you claim you don’t have the means to pay. What is the truth behind your complaint, you dispute the debt or you just don’t have the money to pay your debt?
***** has provided a response to your complaint on 6-23-2022:
The account was assigned to collection correctly as the ****** ******* did not make her final payment for the amount due. ****** ******* ported out on July 26, 2018 and the account was canceled immediately. The account balance was never paid, and ****** ******* was told this back in 2018, 2020 and in 2021. The file was "reassigned" to MetCredit for collection on April 19, 2022.
MetCredit has done nothing wrong, MetCredit is acting as mandated by *****. Our client maintains the debt is due, and you have an obligation to pay the debt under the terms of service that governed your agreement with *****.You can contact ***** **** ** ******************* ** *** ***** ************ to make arrangements to pay your overdue account.

I settled with Met Credit my n December 21 -2020 on behalf of Koodo mobile. Acc#********. I received a settlement letter on December-22 2020 , confirming I paid in full and my account was now closed. But in my credit report, met credit and Koodo mobile both have me as unpaid. I phoned Koodo and was told they had nothing to do with my file and couldn’t help me. So my credit rating is being badly affected by these two companies, it’s been paid for 2 years now. I tried dealing with it and got nowhere. Can you please help me with this. I have the release letter in front of me.Business response

MetCredit a.k.a Metropolitan Credit Adjusters has taken on a claim without completing their due diligence in investigating and confirming the case was in fact valid, resulting in a contract breach. Upon getting the first contact from their employee, a “collection consultant”, I had provided all the evidence that my legal contractual agreement had been met. As their employee failed to complete his due diligence by seeking to understand contract law, MetCredit has now placed this on my credit, impacting my credit without due cause. MetCredit and it’s employees have failed to complete their due diligence in applying contract law facts to the noted case. The customer, myself, has provided all the legal backup to show the contractual agreement had been met, including: Facts: * ONE signed contract, ending October 1, 2021, between the two parties involved. * Written notice cancelling the agreement after its expiration had been provided, per agreement terms. * No consent given by me written, by email, or other, to extend the contractual agreement beyond the signed October 1, 2021, end date. Given the scope of work MetCredit completes, the due diligence of upholding Contract Law and understanding when a contract has been met or breached would be believed to be part of its practice and training their staff accordingly, to evaluate their competency - per legislative requirements. MetCredit needs to understand their negligence and correcting the issue, removing the claim from my credit, due to the facts, as per the requirements set forth within Contract Law.Business response

As you are aware MetCredit is the agent for Merchant Treasury – ****** *****. You signed the attached agreement for 24 months with ****** ***** however you canceled the agreement and stopped the Pre-Authoitzation in August 2018.
Below is a summary of the balance claimed by our client. I would note they only charged you to the end of the year and not to March 2020.
Transaction Description:
Regular Payment - Account Closed 8/1/2018 $83.99
Returned Payment Fee 8/2/2018 $50.00
Regular Payment 9/1/2018 $83.99
Regular Payment 10/1/2018 $83.99
Regular Payment 11/1/2018 $83.99
Regular Payment 12/1/2018 $83.99
Subtotal: $469.95
This was previously communicated and provided to you via email on 2-26-2019 via e-mail at your order and request.
We are amiss as to why you would claim no documentation was provided, you obviously had an agreement, and you stopped the payments under the agreement. The balance remains due and owing.Regards, *** ******** – Manager

I have a complaint against Met Credit. They have a collection account from ***** against me. The original amount is under $1000, and now they are trying to get over $2000. That is not my main complaint. This claim has come off of my credit report 2 times over the past year, and then it comes back on again. Each time with a different date for last activity. I have not had an account with ***** since 2016. I think they are changing the date to keep it on my report so it does not fall off after the 6 years are up this year.Business response

MetCredit have been trying to collect on a debt that doesn't belong to me. Ive asked multiple times for them to send any supporting info, or verification that the debt is mine, and they are refusing to do so. Ive given them over a month to confirm the debt. They added their file to my credit report under collections. They FALSIFIED a payment date of Feb 1 2022, even though ZERO payment has been made, made ZERO acknowledgment that the debt is mine, and failing to provide supporting information to the legitimacy of the debt. This company is known for creating false debt, and trying to collect on it. Ive asked them for immediate removal from my credit report, or provide legitimacy to their claim, and they've done neither.Business response

They keep threatening with "formal action from our client". My initial debt is 742$ and ***** says it has not gone up and this is the amount confirmed by their recovery unit. Complaint: ********
I am rejecting this response because:
I have asked multiple times for a document(proof of debt with amount)that MetCredit has been sent from ***** with actual amount ***** is requesting. They have not provided this document. All they give is invoices with a interest rate from a contract. They have no proof that the amount they are requesting is the one asked from *****. **** ***** **** **** *** **** ****** *** ****** ****** ** ****** * ******* I contacted a credit protection agency and they have told me that the credit collector needs to provide the document with an actual amount requested by ***** and not old invoices and contract information. ******,
As we provided you already, the final invoice from ***** on your account was $742.96.
Attached is the ***** Terms and Conditions:
“What if I don’t pay my bill in time?
If your payment is not received by the date indicated on your bill, a late payment charge will apply.
Late payment charges are two percent per month (26.82% per year) on your total unpaid amount.”
This is also outlined in the statements sent to you.
From 2018 to today there has been interest accumulating on your outstanding balance of $742.96 at 26.82%.
I am confused what about this you don’t understand.
We dispute your claim you contacted ***** and they said you don’t owe interest.
As I have already indicated you can contact Shawn V*** at ************** * ****, he can work with you to resolve this issue.

******,
I have already explained to you how to respond to this matter if you never had a card.
I have already explained to you we are an Agent for *** Bank respecting a ******* Reward **********, and we do not deal with credit reporting.
You now need to take this situation into your own hands and file a police report so proper steps can be taken to address any concerns you have.
By complaining to the BBB is not going to change the situation, a ******* Rewards ********** with a balance owing in your name with your address has been assigned to collections. If this is not yours or you were a victim of fraud you need to contact the authorities. We can no do this for you.
Please refer to my original message advising the steps to be taken.
