I am writing to formally submit a complaint regarding my recent experience at the Miniso store in *************************************************** on September 25, 2024.On September 13, 2024, I purchased seven mini game consoles as part of goodie bags for my sons birthday. Unfortunately, one of the consoles turned out to be defective. Upon hearing this from the child who received it, I retrieved the item and visited the Miniso store today with the original receipt to request an exchange. The cashier refused to process the exchange, citing the Minisos policy, and was extremely rude throughout the interaction. I explained that, according to BCs Business Practices and Consumer Protection Act (Part 4), a defective item must be exchanged or refunded regardless of the stores internal policy. Despite this, she continued to insist on refusing the exchange, stating that company policy overrules any legal protections for defective products.I then requested to speak with a manager or obtain contact details for the head office, but the cashier refused to provide either, along with her own name. She even said that if I intended to file a complaint, she would not give her name. This behavior was highly unprofessional and a clear breach of my rights as a consumer under BCs Business Practices and Consumer Protection Act (Part 4), which mandates that businesses must comply with the law regardless of store policies.I urge the company to address this situation promptly and ensure that the store staff are aware of their legal obligations under the Act. I request an exchange of the defective product as well as an investigation into this matter of unprofessionalism. Thank you for your prompt attention to this issue. I look forward to your response.Sincerely,Sophie

I went to Miniso to buy a toy today. I found a stuffed animal on a shelf . The shelf, the 3 above it and the 2 below it were all marked $9.99. When I brought the toy to the register, it scanned at $20.34, which is $18.99 with tax. I told the cashier about the price and showed her where I had found the toy. She went with me to look at the shelves and told me that the price was for the boy that had been there previously. I had said that the store should honor the toy for that price. She told me that they didn't have to. I asked to speak to a manager. When he came, he removed all the $9.99 labels in front of me and told me that I could either pay $20.34 for the toy or get out. I am upset that the store would not honor the price on the shelving. I am also displeased in how I was spoken to. I worked retail for over 20 yrs. I would have been reprimanded or fired if I had spoken to a customer like that. I would also like to state that at no point did I raise my voice or cause a scene. I was brought up to treat people with respect and that includes retail workers in the holiday season. I am extremely disappointed with my shopping experience at Miniso. Sincerely, ***** *******

I bought several electronic items (two wireless charges at $8 each, 1 wireless earphone at $10) at Miniso Coquitlam Center December 15, 2022 for Christmas presents. Miniso Employees explained to me that it is compatible with any devices. On Christmas Day, we tried the items, but the chargers were not compatible with our iphones. The wireless earphones did not work properly either. On Dec 28, 2022, I tried to return that items and I found out, return policy Miniso is max 7 days after purchase. But for Christmas present, they should allow returns after Christmas, especially when the staff misinformed me. These are bad business practices.
