I purchased several gift cards from Earls in the past few years and in my last visit to the restaurant, I used the gift cards to pay for my meal and was declined. After an open source query it appears that one of the three gift cards that I purchased has the balanced wiped on June 8, 2022, and two of the three gift cards are marked "invalid" despite carrying a balance. On December 25, 2022 I sent an email to Earl's inquiring the issues of the three gift cards. I attached the gift cards to the original email of inquiry. Two days later I received a reply from Earl's stating that the first $25 gift card carries an expiry date, despite the fact that the gift card clearly states on the bottom that the "eCard does not expire". This contradiction of the validity of the gift card was interpreted by the merchant wholly to their advantage, where they pointed out that the card expired on May 31st and provided a screenshot where the print was very vaguely printed on the card. However, when I explained to them that the terms and conditions clearly states that the card has no expiry date, they stopped replying to my inquiry. For the second ($75) and third ($15) gift cards, I was advised that the cards were redeemed but no history was provided. Also, when I checked the balance of the two gifts, it stated that the cards are "invalid". The merchant advised that the gift cards are old and cannot provide any history of redemption. I do not recall ever using any of these gift cards. Follow up with the merchant ensued but no replies were given on the usage of these two gift cards. In my view, the first gift card that had the balance wiped on June 8, 2022 contradicts with the merchant that it expired on May 31, and I need to emphasize that the card clearly stated that it does not expire. *** ******** ******* ** ****** ** ***** *** ********** *********** ** ****** *** ***** **** ** ******. Also, the merchant fails to disclose the usage on the other two cards.

On 5/24/22 I dined at Earl's in Boston MA. Upon receipt of the bill to tip, our waitress asked us what percent tip we wanted and gave us the options 18, 20, and 22%. We told the waitress 20% tip and she repeated 20% back to us. Upon review of our receipt we noticed that the tip she selected was 22%, which was a number that we did not authorize. This is not the first time this has happened with the exact same waitress (Briellee) at the exact same Earl's location-about a month apart. The manager refunded us the price difference of the tip, but even the tip that we were forced into paying (the service was sub par and did not warrant even close to a 20% tip). * ******* **** ** ********* ********** ** **** ******** ** **** ********** ******* ***** ******** ** ************* ***** ***** ** ***** ********* *** ******** ** ********* ** **** **** ******* *** ************ ******* ** *** **** ***** ***** ** **** **** ******* **** *** ***** ******** ****** ** **** ******** ******** * ****** *** ** ***** *** ************ *** **** *** *******. Thank you for looking into this matter.
