I made an appoitment to have my Kia Sol latch checked, It wasn't closing properly and needed checking. I told them numerous times it was just my latch but when I got to the service department they told me that a diagnostic test would have to be done. The car was under warranty so I didn't think too much about it. They replaced 2 screws which took a matter of 2 min. and didn't charge me for that labour, they didn't charge me for any materials but they did charge me $****** for the diagnostic because that area had been worked on by another garage as an Autopac repair. I was asked to give a review of the service and when I complained there was no real response only " I am sorry you feel that way" I don't feel a diagnostic was needed. What i did need was someone to look to see what was making the rattling noise and then assess to see if a diagnostic was needed. That would have been a better way to handle the situation. *** *** ****** **** ** ********** *******  **** *** ******** ** ********. * ** * *********** *** ** ** ********* ***** * ***** ******** ****** *** ***** ********* ** ** ******** *** *** ** ********

Linda, it is unfortunate you feel that way. You brought your vehicle to us stating the rear hatch was hard to close and rattling excessively. Upon drop off we had explained to you, and received your permission to proceed, that if the concern was not warrantable - diagnostic charges would apply. What we discovered on your vehicle was a number of loose bolts within the rear hatch, your back-up camera clips had been broken clean off - leaving the camera to essentially dangle in place and damage marks on the trunk handle. We documented this and provided you with pictures, which you acknowledged and thanked us for providing. When discussing the findings with yourself, you had stated that the vehicle had been in an rear end collision previously - we believe what we discovered was the outcome of poor workmanship to repair the rear hatch of the vehicle. None of the concerns that we discovered were warrantable. They were a direct result of an outside influence attempting a rear hatch repair on your vehicle. None of what we conducted took 2 minutes. There were multiple trunk hatch panels that required removal, multiple bolts that required tightening to the proper torque specs and we re-secured your back-up camera. Plus testing to ensure the trunk closed as intended and a road test to ensure the noises had been removed. We feel that we were nothing but honest and transparent throughout this process, even providing you with multiple pieces of evidence and encouraging you to return to the business that fixed the rear hatch initially to see if they would provide reimbursement for our repair. I am sorry again, but referencing 2 minutes is a false accusation, and all work was approved by you prior to being completed. Kind Regards
