November 15, 2024 I took my 2016 ***** Sonic to Goodguys Tire and Auto for a repair recommended by them. They said I had a oil leak and it was time to change my Valve Cover Gasket and replace Spark Plugs. I stated "Do not roll driver side window down due to my kid waisting sticky stuff and the window although it worked would get stuck at times, I picked my car up the following day and immediate ** I noticed my driver side window down. I complained they apologized and said its nothing they could do. I drove off irritated and my car immediate** started smoking and was very sluggage. I called back and was told to drive a few days for the oil to burn off. On November 19 I was still complaining and I was told to bring my car back and was told that they found another code that wasn't in my previous** vehicle report. Variable Timing Control Solenoid is what they said was wrong. I agreed and paid because i needed my car. I went back the same day and they told me the car was fine but my window was rolled down again and they couldn't get it back up. The tech and I walked to my car. I tried to get my window to go up and was stunned to find not on** would it not go up. It wouldn't move at all and my interior light would not go off and my car dash stated all doors were open when none were. They kept the car to fix the problem over the weekend. I returned that following Monday to pick up my car. They told my they could not fix the window. I drove off and again my car was smoking and acting like it wanted to stall. I turned back immediate** and was told they would refund the money. I told them I wanted all of my money back because the oil is literal** leaking out of my Valve Gasket and my car was running fine until they recommended work be done. I cannot drive my car and I had to put plastic on my window to protect it. I can't park my car in the garage. I've missed a lot of work and sleep do to my car not running and no sleep because I'm constant** looking after my car .

3/28/22took my 86 toy mr2 to Goodguys on Weber for a water pump. Check first if they could work on those cars, on 03/30/22 my car was driven to W Shaw location by their employee because they didn't have anyone who could work on it. The mechanics installed a water pump, timing belt charged me $787.93. As I was driving the car it was having noise that my husband thought was exhaust rattling. All the gages were good and no smoke or water leaks. next time I drove it the car lost power and was making rattling noises. I was around the corner from my house and got it home. no signs of water leaking, and gauges read good, my son who is a disabled smog tech and mechanic said it was over heating. but there was not sign leaking or smoke just air in the system. we seen some electrical wires not hooked up after the repair. Called the shop and they sent techs out, they cranked on it for 30mins to try to start it. had it towed back to them, and they ran diagnostic and said if we replace the plugs, it will fix it. plug was band new. went and talk to the tech working on it and he said they didn't follow the factory bleeding spec for the cooling system. he said he put his machine on but never check if it was full of coolant. they said they did nothing wrong. paid $235 for tow and diagnose. later they said the engine was bad. I towed the car home another $70 and open the hood to find my car in pieces no spark plugs, timing cover off, stuff not hooked up and missing parts. Got pictures of it. They wanted to have another tech put the plugs back in at the house. we told them we will pick up the parts. Took it to A-tech auto was told the motor got super-hot and there was half a bucket of antifreeze in the system. A-tech said if the car wasn't bled right, it very well could of caused the damage to my motor and my son said the same thing. total repair cost to rebuilt motor $5168.85 . the motor was rebuilt and only had 7000 miles on it. I am asking for total of $6261.78. for all repairs.

WOW do I feel taken advantage of (almost). My husbands car broke down on Herndon. He had it towed to this location. We figured it was just a battery, but get a call later saying that our battery AND alternator are bad and it's going to be over $1,000. Now, I am about to have a baby in two weeks so this is a big bill for us. When I called to ask for a breakdown on the pricing, the man pretended to "remember me" tho my husband was the one who went in.... and went on about how he was giving me a discounted price on everything. I simply did some googling and calling around and quickly found out his "discounted" prices were outrageous. We went there to get the car immediately to take it elsewhere and he tried to argue that the $240 for the battery was normal (I had already bought one from Costco for $109). Then told me that he is having the $670 alternator "visa flown in overnight" so that we could have it done the next day..... maybe trying to make ME feel guilty?? I don't know. So I told him for the third time, I'm very sorry, we just can't afford it right now, can we have our car? He rings us up for the $60 "diagnostics test" and brings the car around. We get the car, put the new battery in. It's runs fine now. The day after, we have O'Reilly's run a test and guess what?? Battery, alternator and starter are all working FINE! After seeing all the other reviews, I do believe we were taken advantage of and I doubt there is a real diagnostics test that shows a bad alternator.

Vehicles battery was dead and alternator was not charging. When test was done the charging problem could be an intermittent problem. We would be happy to reimburse the $59.99 to customer.

Went in for an oil change and was told i needed spark plugs which I agreed to. I was never given a quote and was told only it depends how long it takes us. Two hours later i am handed a bill for $746 for services i never agreed to. I felt humiliated and taken advantage of for being a young woman who has no idea about cars
