In June of 2023 My coverage with ****** expired that I got through my new computer purchase. I thought I was contacting a real person with ****** in June of t2023. My bank declined the charge as I told them I did not agree with the charge. I called qikbay at ************ and told them that I found out I never had coverage them under Mcafee, I saw on line that Qikbay with Jinigram llc were a scam.Initial Complaint

On August 4, 2023, I called McAfee because I had a charge of $169 debuted from my checking account. I renewed my McAfee in July. When I called customer service and when the man answered he didn't say it was McAfee customer service. I asked him if I was calling ******. He told me I was calling the customer service number. I told him my situation about being charged $169. He asked for my email address so he could look up my McAfee account. He did see I was charged for the $169. He told me he had to get into my computer and uninstall the old version of ****** and install the new version. He did refund my money. He said I had a lot of trackers and threats that he had to clean up for my laptop. He proceeded to tell me the new version would be $379! I told him I can't afford that amount of money. He said he was going to talk to his manager. When he got back on the phone, he said I qualify for a special offer of $180. I agreed to pay that amount. He told me on my bank statement that the transaction was going to be from ********. I don't know why I didn't question why it wouldn't be McAfee. After he downloaded the new McAfee and put new icons on my desktop, he said another technician would call me to verify everything was okay. The next day I clicked on one of the icons and it said it was a suspicious website. I immediately uninstalled ****** and called what I thought was McAfee to cancel my subscription. The lady I spoke to was very unpleasant and gave me hard time. She told me even though I uninstalled McAfee I still have the subscription. I told her I want a refund. She went on saying that she can only refund me $50 because no one can else can use the service.I googled Qikbay and read the complaints of BBB and they all sound similar. That's another issue, for some reason when the man was in my computer he deleted my ****** Chrome and now it's Yahoo.Business response

Dear *******,
First of all let us clear the confusion and establish some facts:
1. We are an independent third party Distributor and Reseller of numerous software and hardware product lines.
2. We do not make outbound calls whatsoever.
3. Whenever a customer calls our ***** number, they hear a clear IVR that recites the branding information.
4. Whenever a sale is conducted, at numerous points, branding information is rehashed and digital signatures taken for every purchase.
Based on your complaint, we have investigated the matter internally and with the resellers as well. Here are our findings:
1. You have signed a digital contract that clearly outlines the above mentioned assertions.
2. You made a payment using a link that was sent to you (which includes acknowledgement taken by the bank itself).
3. Most software products, once sold are not refunded, but we have a very consumer friendly policy and allow refunds, especially to elder citizens.
4. In your case, you never called back for a refund, if you had, it would have been processed promptly, given our policy.
5. You purchased multiple product licenses with a 3 year validity. According to our records, the licenses are being used as of today.
6. You purchased the products and then somehow panicked assuming a scam. Scam companies don't process refunds.
7. It seems that you are not the customer, it may be someone else in your family, hence an abject lack of understanding of the context.
The Resolution:
As per our policy, we will process the refund. It is unfortunate that without requesting a refund, you have resorted to such tactics. We don't blame you though, it does happen a times with elderly people that they forget the sale, brand, and the company and assume that the transaction on their account is of unknown origin. Regardless, as mentioned, we will process the refund and as a goodwill gesture we will let you use the software. We hope to win your business back in future.
As per the discussion, we will process the refund within this week.
Regards

Purchased McAfee product through this company for $180. It wasn't able to be installed on my laptop for some reason, and 7 days later I decided to return it. They will say anything to get you to keep it, but finally they said that they can refund me only $80 because they already used the product license on me, and can't resell it to anyone else (like that's supposed to be my problem?). They wouldn't budge on that, so we settled on the $80 and they said I could keep my 2yr subscription. The next day I get an email from ****** saying that my protection will be over in 5 days, so they lied to me and broke our agreement. I called the number and talked to a woman named ****** before, but seem to be having trouble reaching them now.Business response
