DIRTY BUSINESS - R&R Towing in *******, 1912 E ********************, Ca *****, has the worst office manager ever! She gave her name as "*****" and won't even care to give out her last name. She speaks in a condescending tone during the entire conversation with multiple interruptions. Then she berates the customer by explaining things that are obvious yet won't disclose complete information that are important without complaining. She is pretty short and annoyed whenever answering questions and just determined to pass blames and judgment by overtalking. She is very unprofessional and rude and not caring to resolve the issues but just focused on down playing the customer's views. Please do not patronize this business. My car was towed 4/21/24. Smart Lien mailed 1st notice that if we won't come up with the money to pay them for storage fees, they will take my car. My mom called to let them know we cannot afford the fees, and it's fine to just take our car. No more notices, sent after that, as per *****, the manager. **** cleared on 5/28/24, they store my car for 38 days, at $70/day, is at $2660, per *****. RR accrued possession from 5/28/24. Then RR sent me to collection 6/5/24, without notifying me. First notice from collection is on 8/2/24, with a ******************* of $3049.15. When I tried to get info from RR, the manager, *****, was very unhelpful. Now RR Towing got my car, then also attempting to collect from meR & R Automotive & Towing Response

Ms Margaret Abaya, Here are the facts on your complaint: 1) your car was impounded by the Visalia police department on 4/21/24. 2) someone driving the car was arrested 3) your vehicle registration was expired for about a year, 07/23 4) you, as the registered owner, came into the office and picked up all your personal property from the vehicle. At that time, day 1, we gave you all instructions on how to pick up your car from our yard. We told you that you first needed to update your registration with DMV and then, you had to go to Visalia police department to get a release from that department. 5) your mother kept calling on your behalf and legally, because you are an adult (21 yr old) and the registered owner, the responsibility is ultimately yours. I did not have to speak to your mom, nor do we owe her any explanations. 6) you and your mother called over and over and no matter what you said, the answer was always the same: register your car and get your release. 7) your unwillingness to follow instructions led to you being in collections. You could have taken care of all this, simply by registering your car and getting the release from Visalia police department. We are a towing and storage facility. The car was impounded by the police department, not by us. It is California law to keep your registration current. Whoever was driving the car was arrested. Should we be held responsible for that too? Don’t get arrested and the car won’t be impounded. 8) Towing and storage accrued for 38 days because you did not pick up your car. You abandoned your car. It is against California law to do so. This is the result of YOUR choices. 9) All legal notices were sent to you letting you know the process that we follow. 10) I remember talking to you and your mom, both of you were argumentative and you both interrupted me at every moment. I answered every question you both had and simply put, you did not like the responses. My response was always the same: register your car and get a release. Had you done that on day ONE you would have paid $335. But, you CHOSE not to. 11) your car if your RESPONSIBILITY, your actions led to this. Worst customer service ever. If you need ********************, make this your last choice, please. I first called to request a copy of a receipt of an overpriced towing they had done on my sister's car. The number on the website that I called was directed to the dispatcher, why? Who knows. I wanted to talk to someone in the office, but the number routed me to dispatch, the guy that answer was rude, condescending, ignorant and inept. He obviously hates his job because he has no customer service skills whatsoever, his monotone voice of a robot kept repeating go to the office, go to the office. Is not like I wanted to disturb his meaningless day, all I wanted was to talk to someone in the office. The next day I went to the office, and I talked to the only girl that was there that walked out of the office and handled my inquiries in the parking lot, very businesslike smh. She was nice and told me to leave my info so that the manager/owner would reach back to me. Finally the owner/manager I believe the name *****, called me and said that they couldnt provide that information to me because I was not the car owner, I responded to her that they could have told me that the day before when I called, so that the register owner would have reach out, but since the inept dispatcher wouldnt let me talk and was in such a rush to get me off the phone I couldnt express my request. I expressed that to owner/manager and suggested they could have told me that and I wouldnt be wasting any anyones time, she became outraged and said that I was rude to the dispatcher, front office, and herself and that all I had to do was asked for a copy of the receipt, which is all I ever wanted in the first place. She said she didnt have to help me if she didnt want to. I hope the better business bureau can do something about this business, because they are ripping people off and once they get their money they would not help in any other requests.R & R Automotive & Towing Response

Firstly, as we explained to you, we cannot legally release any information if you are not the registered owner. secondly, the moment you became belligerent, I would no longer have any reason to help you. you do not have a right to abuse any of my staff just because you did not get what you wanted. talk about inept, you lost the receipt. i do not have to provide a copy for you, you were never my customer and the company had already issued a receipt.Review from XI L

I would like to give a 0 for over charge and illegal's service. the towing company that they over charge the price and told me that cash only police. My car got towed this morning due to I parked wrong. I called this ****** and they told me that the price is 420. After work, I got their, as they required, I got gate 1 per their message. I send them the message and let them know I will be there in 20 mins. After I got in the gate. One giant guy approach to me and shouted at me. Another person started to close the game. I was panic and start to record on my phone ( I was so scary and failed the record).When they saw that I was recording and telling them I am calling 911. They leave me alone. I called 911 and they told me they can be there after 7pm which their store closed at 5pm per on the door. I have to go back and try to get my car out. It was very hard. They said the fee is 700 now and CASH ONLY. They said there is an *** inside. The *** charge extra fees. I have no choice. I keep my husband on the phone with me with recording. I saw the price on their door does not match the price they charged me. They told me it is the price for me! If I do not pay it now, they will close the door. I have to pick it up tomorrow. Now I got my tow fee charged twice. Paid 700 for less 24 hours tow. Should I be glad I am still alive? revise the sentenceR & R Automotive & Towing Response

Predatory towing company! They impounded my Escalade and ski boat from the lake when I went to pick them up the woman charged me $50 for 15 minutes increment of time as a gate fee although I was there by 4:45 ultimately she did not let me take my vehicle or my boat that date regardless. But still try to charge me a gate fee of over $200 which I would have gladly paid if I could have taken my vehicles. Was angry about the sheriff's department releasing both vehicles on the same form and ultimately they kept my ski boat. I use that boat strictly for my outreach/ministry for local underprivileged kids to learn boating etc. They charged me 1500 just for my truck and it was there maybe 4 or 5 days. The people in the office were making jokes about why they don't bother doing roadside assistance and even poking fun at AAA approved tow shops because they don't make enough money. firstly, it was the tulare sheriff department who impounded your vehicle and boat and trailer. secondly, you picked up your escalade several days after you were released from jail. you could not take the boat and trailer because you were not the registered owner. you did not even have any documentation on them and that is why the sheriff department did not release them to you.not sure what kind of ministry you run, one that you use to mask the fact that you were caught stealing by the sheriff department.lastly, it was the sheriff department that called us out to the scene and who ultimately impounded your units.everyone who has AAA knows that they are notorious for giving customers a 1-3 hr eta. as you stated, you showed up at 4:45pm. you had from 8-5 to pick up your units but you waited until the last minute. that does not mean that i have to stay and wait for AAA for you past 5pm. no one works for free. you had also been told about our office hours over the phone. your poor planning on your part is solely on you. dont get arrested again, those offenses are expensive in every way.
