- Advertising Review:
In October 2024, BBB contacted Fitness Lead Machine regarding claims in its advertising.
Its website states "Transform Your Social Media Profiles To Get Unlimited FREE Leads For Your FITNESS Business!" and "This is the Fastest...Easiest...Most "Beginner Friendly" Way To Start & Grow Your Fitness Business Online TODAY." According to the BBB Code of Advertising, claims relating to performance, efficacy, or results for a product or service should be based on recent and competent testing or other objective data. Superlative statements in advertisements about the tangible qualities and performance values of a product or service are objective claims for which the advertiser must possess substantiation as they can be based upon accepted standards or tests. BBB requested that the business provide substantiation for the 'unlimited free leads' and 'fastest...easiest...most beginner friendly way to start and grow your fitness business' claims but did not receive a response.
Its website includes several customer testimonials, including:
"Within the first week of putting this up on my Facebook profile, I immediately started generating leads organically.'
"When we launched the funnel, we had 300 new people take our offer immediately, and another 150 in the next few days."
"I struggled to actually launch something prior to this. Now I have new leads coming in every day."
"I totally needed this kick in the butt and I've learned a ton from this awesome program. I already have 38 people in my course."
"I can't make this up! Right after I launched this, I added 60 new people to my program. SIXTY new people! That's insane!"
In general, advertising which uses testimonials or endorsements is likely to mislead or confuse if it contains representations or statements which would be misleading if made directly by the advertiser. Advertisers must be able to support claims found in the testimonials used in their marketing. BBB suggested that if substantiation is not available, it would be advisable to remove such testimonials and inquired if any of the endorsers are paid or otherwise compensated for their testimonials, but did not receive a reply.Fitness Lead Machine's website states "Attention: Get the Fitness Lead Machine Blueprint for ONLY $7! This offer won't last long!" Price reductions may be used in advertising only if there is a significant reduction from the usual and customary price of the product or service. If the reduction exceeds 30 days, a business should be prepared to substantiate that the offer is indeed a valid price reduction and has not become its regular price. The business did not respond to BBB.
