In June I went looking for information to start going to the gym for my illness and Mr. ******** showed me a poster they had and I attached it where it explains that if I went 3 times a week for 12 months I would only pay 450 dollars a year. It turns out that they started charging me 450 dollars, when I went to complain the answer that the guy gave me was that if I had to pay 1900 for the fee. Then I asked him how I could pay the membership because I could not pay that amount and he started laughing and told me that I could not until I paid. He told me if you close the card we will charge you anyway and I have sent and sent emails and they do not answer. When I went the guy never told me that there was a contract and he showed me a paper with the description and a signature that is not mine. I called to report the problem and they told me it was personal and when I went they told me it was by email. I have sent several emails and they only tell me that they are going to investigate and they do not give any solution.and that you only have CXL if you pay the CXL fee. They never gave me a contract to sign and now they say that they do have a signed contract and they never gave me anything to sign. They told me that I would be active until I paid and that the money would continue to accumulate. I want to know what I can do because I cannot pay $5,000 for a gym.

Dear Amped Fitness Team,I have been in contact with Amped Fitness since May 2023 regarding the cancellation of my membership, as well as those of other members within our company. Initially, Amped Fitness did not offer a corporate account, so we were advised to register everyone under a single credit card. We followed this recommendation. When we began the cancellation process, I was instructed to provide a signed letter of cancellation from each member in person, which I did. Despite this, our accounts were not cancelled and were instead sent to ****** and Associates for collections. The interactions with this collection firm have been extremely frustrating. They are consistently rude, unhelpful, and unprofessional. Every time I call for assistance to resolve our accounts post-cancellation, they hang up on me. I also contacted the local Amped Fitness to explain the situation and was informed of a new cancellation form that needs to be completed.I proceeded to complete this new form and sent it in, with tracking confirming that Amped Fitness received the letters. Despite this, we are still being pursued by collections. When I called again today to seek assistance, the associate from the collection firm once again hung up on me. This level of customer service is unacceptable.I would greatly appreciate your immediate assistance in resolving this matter.Thank you for your attention to this issue.Sincerely,***********************

I had a gym membership at Amped Fitness while living in *******. I moved to ************** in July of 2023. I sent in the requested documents and information to cancel and then spoke with the manager at the location on to confirm the cancellation of my membership. I moved and have been charged every month since. I have called countless times and sent multiple emails with no response. Their level of professionalism is nonexistent and they continue to withdraw money from my account even after speaking on the matter home with multiple staff to confirm I canceled. I have emailed after every unforeseen withdrawal and called to speak to management. I was told on multiple occasions they were handling the issue and knew what was happening. They have now withdrawn a higher amount than usual out of my account. I contacted two employees I knew from might time there and there is no attention to the issue whatsoever. It has been made clear that they are well aware I have cancelled and have been attempting to get a refund and I am being ignored and the issue is blatantly being neglected. Hundreds of dollars have been withdrawn from my account and there is nothing I can do other than call and email since I live ******************************************************* to cancel and even received verbal confirmation at the establishment and even was given a quantity of personal Training sessions I had left before the membership was terminated. On my last phone call with them they told me to just email them which I have done numerous times and my response was to fill out a form and mail it in. A form that I filled out back in July in person at their location.

I started a membership with amped fitness around the mid of February 2023, which was for $***** monthly for the *** program. I was signes up by the manager ***** who informed me abiut the personal training program which i had inquired about so that i may get the foundations to begin my health and fitness journey. I was informed of the rates being around $720 monthly to see the trainer 4 times a week to which i let him know that was way out of my price range and that i would stick to just the membership, to which he spoke to me and stated that he could lower that to $90 monthly if i only did 2 sessions a month and that if that was still out of my range in the future i could cancel, since i made it abundantly clear that my budget would probably not even allow for that but that i would try it since i was informed i could cancel. About 3 months later I let the manager know that the personal training is out of my price range and that while I appreciate the foundation set by my trainer that i couldnt afford it at the time and that i would need to cancel the personal training and just keep the gym membership. The trainer set up an appointment with the manager ***** who is apparently the only one who can cancel the membership and in person. When i made the appointment I was then blindsided when ***** told me that to cancel my personal training of $90.00 monthly on top of the ***** i already pay i would need to pay a cancellation fee of $250.00 which I had not been informed of prior to signing the agreement nor did they show me the cancellation policy while signing the contract and go into detail. Which if i had been informed of i would have not signed due to my budget constraints. I honestly feel so robbed at this point by these predatory business practices. I then put a stop payment today since i was informed by my bank i can report this to the BBB.

March 31 I signed a contract for a training service. I regretted it that same night and returned the next day to cancel. They told me no one was there to cancel and to come back Monday. I went back Monday and they told me that no one can see me without an appointment. So I made one. They gave me Wednesday. I went Wednesday and they told me I was a day too late. They just gave me the runaround so they didnt have to cancel my contract. I have been back and forth with them. Waiting. For other to contact me and so forth. They saw me on the camera that I came both days. I didnt even workout. I only went to cancel. They keep giving excuses to cancel.

This Amped Fitness branch is currently scamming its costumers into signing for personal training classes to which they have no knowledge of. While at the counter I was trying to get information about the personal training classes, they made me sign a small screen with no text on it only to then later (while at home) send me a 12 month contract that had my signature on it. Same contract with my card information on file used to charge me my monthly subscription. I was never aware of a contract as they only informed me of a small $35 fee to start that i was willing to pay plus my monthly charge of personal training classes. When you try and speak to a manager there is never anyone available and the person that signs you up (and scamms you) is no longer on sight. Personal is also aware of this as I tried to speak to someone about it, told me they had quit the job because of angry customers coming in to complain. These same "managers" who take commission to sign you in to the personal trainers, also want to charge you $500 to end the contract when you have not even had 1 single class with a PT. This is a shady business and with no corporate office to call, they will also not give you any information of a district manager. Forging a signature onto another document and calling it a contract is not legal. This needs to be stopped.

On September 19, 2022, I mailed a certified letter to Amped Doral to cancel. I followed up this letter with an email with a copy of the certified letter. The letter was to provide a 30-day written notice, which is required in BOTH the membership AND personal training agreements. After emailing the Doral location, I was told you must come in to cancel. This is NOT in EITHER agreement. Here's the tracking info: **** Certified Mail Tracking #: ********************. On October 3, 2022, I see the certified letter was accepted by ******. I elected to cancel because 3x I went to the gym & was locked out because they never processed my payment on file. I was also sold a Revamped membership for $70/month, which I NEVER used. I asked to cancel this once I noticed it's a recurring charge and difficult to find someone to give you a session. On October 5, 2022, I demanded to speak to a manager. I was told you have to set an appointment next day, NOT same day, but I get an email from the Doral location to come in M-F 9am to 5pm to speak to a manager - another conflicting message. I talk to *****, the manager. He talked me into downgrading to the basic membership & 2 training sessions a week vs 3, since I signed up a newer gym with more amenities in my building. Well, on October 16, 2022, about 2 weeks later, there was no downgrade. I was charged for 3 training sessions and VIP membership ($24, $390). He never downgraded me. The issue is I FOLLOWED your process. I sent a certified letter to cancel with more than 30 days notice. I love my trainer, she's AMAZING. I have major issues with billing & the lack of confirmation of changes in writing. If a service is cancelled, I need proof in writing with dates. I have proof a certified letter was delivered, I will gladly pay $250 to cancel. Take it out of the $390 I was charged yesterday. I want to resolve this swiftly. I contacted my credit cards to not issue any more payments until resolved. Cancel me & keep the sessions.
